So, I got interested in this case from pic related. It is basically an 80s- styled computer case for raspberry pi with a place for a breadboard and some convenient stuff like on/off switch, better layout of the sockets in the back for usb, eth and stuff.

I am quite convinced to buy one, but wanted your opinion on this or if there are similar cases available?

>I got interested in this case from pic related
why?

>shitberry pi
why u go brainlet?
what u gonna use it for?
electric typewriter?

>fucking chiclet keyboard
jesus christ man

I have raspi, and I like the 80s design style. What I hate about raspi is that the cunt is so small and is always all over the place whenever I touch my desk. HDMI, few usb devices plugged in and it looks simply horrible I prefer the classing back plugs, not all fucking around the shit. Also having embedded keyboard is a neato, one less device on my already crammed desk. Plus the case is all metal with good airflow inside, can put bigger fans and have finally some humane temps on my v3.

chiclet? It is normal laptop-sized keyboard from what I know.

there is a version for tinkerboard as well, but this thread is not about the device, just about the case or similar cases. The fact you can't use it for anything than typewriting cos you are so dumb it is your problem not mine.

>normal laptop-sized keyboard
yeah but it has those shitty spaced out keys with probably like half a millimeter of throw. I would buy one of those raspi cases if they had a respectable keyboard

Chiclet has nothing to do with size. It's another term for island-style keyboard, which is what the keyboards you posted are

what do you do with the raspberry?
I don't see any reason to use it as a real computer

not him, but you can do practically anything besides play games on the raspi that you can do on a desktop pc

who said I want to use it as one? I find it so tidy and convenient to have breadboard handy, pinout handy, keyboard built-in, good airflow and tidy cables. I use mine for sdr and random number research.

overpriced sh-t

actually you can play some nice text adventures or terminal games like nethack and similar

I have one from this user's pic - anyone know how to get rid of that horrible flickering of this small display? I can't use it due to this fucking up with me eyes.

retard:

i wanna make a keyboard case for 60% board and a raspberry pi or a NUC that's like a sony hit bit

There is no reason to use it as a desktop computer, at least you are really poor. It is a nice toy, I don't know
don't get me wrong, you can do whatever you want, of course, but I think that a little thing with a cooler hid somewhere and controlled via wifi can be better than that big thing. But well, it is your toy.

i would buy it.

Shouldn't be that hard to make, actually.

>Still thinking R-Pi is just a really small but fully fleshed out computer

what is it missing besides a dedicated graphics processing unit?

I will say it again - where the fuck did I say I want to use it as a computer/desktop?
Moreover, I did say what I am using it for now and this is quite far from using it as a day to day PC. English, motherfucker, you speak it?

It is a microcontroller that is made to emulate a working computer, i.e it is not a computer, just like a piece of charcoal is made to emulate a pencil, but it is, in fact, not a pencil

anything as in starting openoffice and chrome and watching it having a meltdown

you are dumb as fuck. ARM processor which is there runs linux natively without emulating anything you delta cuck fag.

>It is a microcontroller
No it isn't

> backspace next to spacebar

oh god, the horror

I like the idea of this but probably it will cost more than its worth. Personally I think a decent price would be 30 euros while it probably jumps to 80 euro or something like everything else which is related to Pi does

I wish raspberry 3 had a real SATA interface and not only the bullshit memory card slot.
You cant have a real computer without real hard drive or ssd. Memory cards are simply not reliable enough for true operating systems

cyberdeck

I feel like a broken screen Think pad X60 or X200 would be better in every conceivable way - cheaper, more powerful, better input devices, better storage solutions, etc.

shitty mock up
you could probably sandwich it more and still preserve a comfortable typing height (the NUC is just over an inch thick)
