For the boys?

for everyone!

Kinda sick, at work but wish I was home. Rec some cozy background music please

all of them

Galaxie 500 - On Fire is super cozy imo

>background music
>:|

I don't think there's really any background music
Just some music also works in the background, and On Fire does that for me
Of course it's also a great album in "foreground"

except for music made for that purpose maybe, elevator music, lounge and that stuff, but I don't really like these

This is good stuff. Makes me want to watch Pete & Pete

where did this picture even come from, and why is it a part of daily?

Musical Abortions

linda perhacs- parallelograms
thanks triangelcubed
this was a really good psych-folk album, similar to Baier's Colour Green, but more varied instrumentation and styles, so a little more compelling in that regard. not sure whose songwriting I prefer, though.

So what's with the mixtape thing tho?

here's where I am with my mix tourney and what I need from who
(karenin, sshx, natkingcole)
I also need to make another for karenin's tourney, haven't forgotten buddy :3

>blue again
Good stuff.

I think they're both great songwriters and singers, I can just get down with Perhacs a bit more because there's some more complexity to her guitar playing than Baier's. I'm a sucker for solo female psych folk of all kind tho.

lucky stuff

Luck has nothing to do with it, I'm just p gr8.

nope. all luck. this is a rigged tourney.

please don't question the memes

...

Very good album, thanks for the rec. makes me feel like a cozy slacker. Slowcore/shoegaze?...Not familiar with these but I dig this album.

Pic related now, enjoying it.

Has anyone listened to this? It sounds a lot like LRD and it's very good.

fucking lupe fiasco, this crazy motherfucker just rhymed "Caillou" with "Kaiju"

>It sounds a lot like LRD and it's very good.
what contradictory statements

i had it saved on my computer from Sup Forums
i did some posts on here saying 'first for the boys' with such image
why did i pick that particular one has no reason

you're right, it's very great!

>what contradictory statements?
you're right, I don't see any either

holy shit /daily/ I just finished Dorian Gray cause I'm a pretty slow reader sometimes but it was fucking phenomenal

need help in deciding what to start reading next before I go to bed

strawpoll.me/10129514

I voted on everything except Murakami, because of the lack of an "everything but Murakami" option.

why even include the meme response my lad

what's with the Murakami hate

I've been reading some of his short stories and they're nothing incredibly spectacular but they're either pretty fun or sad which I like
I forgot the last two times and SDC came in with his memery

Thanks for the meme response my guy.

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is at very least worth a read. Murakami may be a hack, but what he does, he does well.

...

i'll get yers to you by like tomorrow

I've never read any Murakami, but i once heard him described as Danielle Steel for The Cure fans. I thought that was pretty amusing.

no problemo, mi amigo
I like a lot of these things desu

I can get why you'd dislike him if you don't like these things or if you not like them enough to be bored by them
more like Danielle Steele for weeaboos like me :^)

though desu, I have no idea what Danielle Steele's books are like and didn't even know who she was till I looked her up and recognized some of her book covers

meh
I find prose and atmosphere more important than plot and the plot is the only thing that is different in his books (and not even all that much), so to me, if you read one book, you've read them all. (or even one short story for that matter)

it seems that Watchmen and Kokoro are winning so far

since one is a comic book and the other is a novel, I might just do both of them

would you guys advise against that or could it be okay?
I don't really intend to read much of his work other than the short stories desu but yeah I see what you mean

oh wait Watchmen has gotten one more vote so I'll do that since it's really late

good night, /daily/

thanks for helping out with my reading

No, it's literally impossible
and illegal

(this is a meme)

Going to see AnCo tonight, v excited. Has anyone else been tothis tour? I hope they do Alvin Row, they did it at a couple venues already :))

>(this is a meme)
Is this the new meme I've heard so much about?

>Going to see AnCo tonight
Poor you B^(
1 (you)=pray for jesse

god i wish i could see them live. have fun!

>Has anyone else been tothis tour?
one of my friends went, he told me that they only played Floridada from PW, everything else was from their other albums. he doesn't really know much about them and didn't record much, so i can't really say from which era they played the most.

also, be wary, there might be a pc music opener. get ready to see them get booed off the stage as well.

no
here's the new meme: it's called jim

and tony

Good fresh meme.

Whew, finally caught up on rym ratings for all the 1001/rolling stone/33 1/3 etc listening. Lots of 3s and 3.5s.

I'm so close to done with the first round of this tourney I can taste it. I'm hoping I can drop reviews tonight but idk.

Music for this feel?

Musical Abortions.

>Music for this feel?
the rest of the tourney albums

k I'll give it a shot

thanks for the rec I'll give it a shot.

I have almost everything listened to but 1 or 2 albums, I'm just re-listening to stuff and finishing my really shitty "reviews." I'd be surprised if they were up after midnight CDT but I have to close at work tonight so I'm not sure.

What's with this sudden worship of Elephant 6 bands in pop culture? They're seriously just non-talent acts that take the very little of what's likeable about 60s psych rock bands and record it "low-fidelity" ham-fistedly and add obstreperous "experimentation" I mean why does anyone like this?

...are people just taking any opinion they have and putting "hampus" in the name field to get people to agree with literally whatever? Shit's dumb yo.

>I mean why does anyone like this?
Apparently.

That sentence wasn't what I thought it was at first glance but no worries, not like I have standards for posting.

I mean idc if you don't like E6 bands really, I certainly don't like I used to either, but doesn't hampus like Olivia Tremor Control? At least that's what I remember from some chart I saw like half a year ago. Though I'm probably just remembering it wrong.

Also I'm like 90% sure you used "obstreperous" wrong. Dude talks like a pseudo-int but at least he knows what words he's saying.

>not like I have standards for posting
literally the only good trip on /daily/. Or Sup Forums for that matter.

>literally the only good trip on /daily/. Or Sup Forums for that matter.
Thanks but stop tho.

Thanks famo. Will take pics
Sounds perfect desu

>Low quality hampusposting

Even though they just released an album, they have a history of playing yet unreleased material at concerts, so be on the lookout for that

well /daily/, it seems my sleeping problems continue to plague me

currently relistening to Divine Music from a Jail

how about you guys?

I am currently not relistening to Divine Music from a Jail, thanks

I'm listening to Tim Allen grunting in sync. 6/10 so far, might go up.

i'm new to /daily/ and i try to listen to all the albums from the charts "new to /daily/" and rate each

I'm currently on les rallizes denudés

nice mem
lovely

I'd join but I feel like I'll end up sleeping soon and interrupting my enjoyment of sync memes isn't very good
have fun

are you enjoying LRD so far?

can I give you these?:

Ayuo/Ohta Hiromi - Red Moon
Mo*Te - Life in a Peaceful New World

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to work I go.

Also, does anyone think I should just downsize this pic? Is threre really any point in it being 3MB because when you zoom in on it it's way too fucking close?

I love shoegaze , i've digging this gender for a long time and LRD is not easy but i'm going to relisten and relisten

Make it 1920px wide instead of 5460. It is still readable at that size and will make it smaller.

pretty sweet flowchart

I wouldn't say UNS has less pop and dub than Kuchu Camp though
good luck with that, man

I'd say LRD are more noise rock than shoegaze though

y

What do you think of LRD ? what do you prefer on their works?

yes

>y
it doesn't have the wall of guitars sound shoegaze has and is more of just really loud feedback and all that stuff
>What do you think of LRD?
they're pretty good
>what do you prefer on their works
as in which album I like the most?

I've only heard '77 Live so no comment there

i wanted to say why do you like them ?
=)

That album boggles my mind
Praying for some of that more than anything honestly. Just to be in the same room as Panda with a microphone is gonna be exciting even if it doesnt happen.

oh

I guess the noise and feedback is pretty fun and interesting

to makes things even more interesting, the music was being made before people considered noise rock to be a thing so that's cool
in what way?

The accordian parts have me taken aback everytime. So intricate.

hans reichel - the dawn of dachsman
just fucking listen to it I'm sick of your shit

Oh boy its drunkposting time

Yes thats correct, OTC was a pretty reat band but Black Foliage was the only goof album

lol!!

thanks buddy

that cajun music was really good, thanks.
unrelated, have you listened to sondre lerche yet?

I can't listen to it if I can't download it

bump

I'd stick my shuttlecock into her badminton if you know what I mean.

She birthed 8 kids and eats Indian food all day

That's my fetish.

Queen - Queen II
Hoo boy, yikes. Sounds like Led Zeppelin got dared to make a prog album with Elton John, with average track length under 4 min. Not great, not awful, not creative, not fresh, not boring. Catchy parts, but lots of eye rolling. 3.0

listening to Shaking the Habitual.
