Which ram for ryzen build?

Kinda stuck on this, I got told that ryzen need "good" ram and benefit from it more then intel cpus. Also got told to go for 3000 to 3200 mhz because it's trial and error after that point on x370 boards.

Now i am stuck on which of this two

G.Skill Trident Z RGB DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR4-3200, CL14-14-14-34

G.Skill Trident Z RGB DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-38

Or should i suck it up and spend like 60-70 bucks more on a pair of

.Skill Trident Z RGB DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3200, CL14-14-14-34 ?

I'll stuff it into an asus rog strix x370-i with a 1600x (probably upgrade to a ryzen 2 or 1800x in the next couple of months).

Inb4, trident z because rgb
Help and imput much appreciated!

Is all ram RGB shit these days?

Well shit, meant to say

G.Skill Trident Z RGB DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3000, CL14-14-14-34

vs

G.Skill Trident Z RGB DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-38

so 3000 mhz cl14 vs 3200 mhz cl16

my bad

Why would you buy RAM that wastes energy on shiny LEDs?

Already got a thermaltake RGB 240mm radiator and rgb psu on a P1 "case"..

I'd say looks pretty dope.

Becaue i'm an idiot and it looks pretty on my desk.
Please don't kinkshame me.

3600 is actually pretty easy with the latest agesa updates on boards with decent memory training

ryzen benefits more from looser timings and faster speeds, than tight timings and a lower speed.

1800X + DDR4-3000, CL14-14-14-34
CL14 is patrician tier, CL16 is plebean tier

best timings i can find is
gskill.com/en/product/f4-3600c16d-16gtzr

It's not listed for amd on gskill.com though.
Pretty much trial and error on own risk, right?

Lolno, 3200@

You want the flare X for Ryzen, trident will prolly work but not certified as much. About the same cost. I got 3200 cl15 or 14 but as another anons mentioned better to up timings and run faster MHz for faster infinity fabric

still OP here.
Figured since i already proofed to be an idiot who spends to much on fancy ram i might as well toss in an extra 50 bucks or so.

so either

DDR4-3200 (PC4-25600)
16GB (8GBx2)
CL14-14-14-34
1.35 Volt

DDR4-3600 (PC4-28800)
16GB (8GBx2)
CL16-16-16-36

The 3600mhz is not guaranted to run, correct?
As said, it's a 200 bucks asus rog strix X370-I but still.

3600 only works if the stars align, you're better off getting the 3200 kit, overclocking it to 3400 if possible and lowering timings as much as possible.

get the ones with the lights bro they look sick in a case with other lights as well man

best part is you get to brag about it on subreddits such as /bsg/ and /cbg/

Ah shit, thanks man, trident z 3200mhz cl14 isn't even in the QVL.
If only the flare x wouldn't be so butt ugly.

hmm, word.

that's the plan, even if it's not that impressive spec-wise it should at least look lit on my desk.

>If only the flare x wouldn't be so butt ugly.
Holy shit the RGB marketing works, I think I'll hurl

Ofc it does, bro.
The glass plate is only there so i don't accidentally jerk off into one of the rgb fans.

You can turn it off you fucking autist
>hurr why do products that don't cater to me exist?

>transparent side panel

Disgusting.

Ultra high end RAM is only needed if you plan on getting a Vega 64/GTX 1080 or better, so you decide if you're going that route.

Yep, rog strix 1080 once the price drops to 600 or so, if it takes longer then expected i might save up another 200 bucks for a ti.

Currently having a strix 1060 6gb oc ready. Not that impressive but will do.

Vega 56 here.

My flare X is sitting in its package for last month. I should really fit this shit.lol

Pick RAM that is confirmed to be Single-Sided Samsung B-Die. Basically, almost anything CL14, but double check.

Oh, and no vega 64, a friend of mine has one, that thing is loud af.

OP here, how do i check that? Asking the seller?

That's why you have fan control.

Some folks on leddit have made lists that show up pretty high on a google search.

Flare X cl14 3200 is Samsung b die OP

>buying the reference design
retarded

Not really, reference Vega has impressive build quality, and you can easily replace the fan with something decent.

Fuck off gaymur kiddie. Go be cancerous elsewhere.

>Single-Sided Samsung B-Die
search said reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/62vp2g/clearing_up_any_samsung_bdie_confusion_eg_on/

Basically, in chase of trident z rgb i should look for GTZ and pass on GVK.

I take that Single-Sided Samsung B-Die are the shit to go for. Although i have no glue as to why.

For some reason Hynix/Micron chips have problems reaching advertised speed. Also, Team Dark Pro is a good set as it's also Samsung. No LEDs on it though.

OP here, thanks for all the imput.
Set on this right now

Got to last after gpus finally drop in prices and upgrade my 1060 without selling one of my kidneys as well as the new ryzen 2 came out and whether or not i upgrade to a 2xxx or 1800x. Might consider 32 gigs after ram prices calm the fuck down.

Any last advices before i go full retard and order a pair of 8gigs for 240?

This will work for you 98% don't worry about flare X it's mainly about the chips.

Looks good. My VERY similar kit was £210 so comparable.

Enjoy OP

(Just be aware this is mainly an epeen thing you may see 2-3fps more lol)

How likely is it that the new Ryzen+ can support something like this?
4000MHz CAS 17-17-17-37
