I feel you

...

i saw some girl that works at google's github page and it's nothing but comits correcting small spelling errors and a few hello world type projects.

i know this feel

I know this feel all too well.

the trash(((woman))) of IT

literally me

i saw this weird blog post-esque article about nvidia CUDA and tensorflow. the authors names were listed at the bottom and i see a qtpie girl there. INTEREDASTING. click on her profile and it leads to github.

>14 repos

wow interesting.... click through them. they're all motherfucking repos for BLOG POSTS. literally these people were maintaining their blog posts on Github and she didnt even write for more than the introductory page. i clicked onto the next page and her name is gone from the authors--she only authored this high-level introductory paragraph for these articles about nvidia CUDA and the rest of the pages were written by males.

just when i thought stereotypes might be broken that day.

Most Tensorflow people work on that level though, they have no idea about how CUDA works.

Fuck ;_;

Mine. All I have are a bunch of small projects and assignments I've worked on in university.

DELET

God damnit.

...

This elephant is my face when some snowflake got my github account banned because I kept rejecting her pull requests to change all the docs to gender neutral pronouns.

Pics or it didn't happen

most likely based on the meme picture where someone changed all the variable names in some big project to be gender neutral. can't remember the exact project but it was a big one, maybe github itself.

github.com/8values/8values.github.io/issues/47

>stereotypes might be broken
wait for 100,000 years at best, maybe some genetic change

anything PHP

>The meaning is not altered at all and most communists I know, myself included, use gender neutral language when using this quote.

>would rather change history than feel uncomfortable

Fuck

>non-contributors can create pull requests
I don't think that's possible desu senpai

...

not github related but, I just found out in my project's codebase the whole ? true : false; thing

I thought it was just a meme Sup Forums

This is how that is handled: github.com/EnterpriseQualityCoding/FizzBuzzEnterpriseEdition/issues/279

and of course is a fucking dead project, literal virus

>systemd
not even once

bool isConditionTrue(bool condition) throws LogicException
{
if ((condition == true) == true) return true;
else if ((condition == true) == false) return false;
else throw new LogicException("Condition is neither true nor false!")
}

What do I win?

...

I don't think "dead" is entirely fair. It serves its primary purpose every single day, which is satirizing big Enterprises. It's true that we don't update it very frequently, but that doesn't seem to severely lessen its popularity. Its slow pace is parts laziness and parts intention. I personally read every single issue and merge request and respond to quite a few.

are you one of the project organizers?

github.com/xatier/girlfriend_require

Yes.

Amateur

if ((condition == true) == true)
return true;
else if ((condition == true) == false)
return false;
else if ((condition == false) == true)
return !true;
else if ((condition == false) == false)
return !false;
else
throw new LogicError("Condition is neither true or false, nor is it not true or not false");

Also; having written or been present for the majority of the writing of the project, I'm moderately certain there's no malware in there. I've been so brave as to run it recently. It was as cumbersome as I had hoped.

My company GitHub

Goddamn I want to murder whoever invented emoji by roasting them inside a brazen bull

this has everything. wait no, it's doesn't have a "made with

So those bullshit issues really are a thing? I should really get into free software developement, seems like a good place to start a fight

saw this with man as well

wish I could have a six digit salary correcting typos - sign

If I can read one book or blog series or anything about CUDA in order to understand it and to write some program with it:

Which one would it be?

I just wrote a small __global__ addition kernel from a blogpost, and it was kind of ok experience.

Say what

There you go. Which girl finds a boy attractive, that cannot control neither the eat nor the body?

I know a woman exactly like this. Her commits are "Fix typo", "made letters uppercase for consistency", etc. Everything else are forks, and some simple "hello-world", "git-tutorial" lol

I do this too. But gf already acquired.

I guess that the effect of stumbling upon stupid shit like gh is resume. People start to just add bs like - nobody will check it anyway and I can walk around and github.

Fuck those leechers.

...

Wish there was a QuitProgrammingException which a programmer cannot recover from or only after a long pause.

I prefer this, as I see teams doing mostly merges all day. Like let's merge feat1v2-test3 feat2-Test-1 and see if it works.

The guy is sane.

I do this and am man. Point her out to me.

Words matter. But people on both sides take it to war. It matters that I do not call you an idiot, just because you are starting out - and I have to accept that. And You have to promise me that you do not get mad, if I point out the flaws in your untrained thinking. Deal.

Nahahahahaha. He did it again.

Seriously, this shit is more about people having huge fears on the one hand and coding, being an ultra-nerd sport for kinds noone liked - is now the go-to playtime for people, who are attracted by money, bitches and quick fame.

I helped with a programming workshop for women and was totally down with the girl organizing it as she is like let keep gender out of the tech discussion. There are sane people.

When I do some open source work, I always check female names, 19 times over 20 it's a troon. The only time it's a real from birth woman, they ugly as hell.

Read some interview with some sjw who was employed by gh, shit was so entitled - I could not read it to the end.

People got to come down and chill.

People don't get it, just how mind-numbing programming can be. Learning your fifth JS framework because the bullshit startup you now work for has to drop random tech names in every investor meeting. This is the most dull life and exhausting. Hope more people see through this bullshit and leave programming alone.

The irony in their actions during that whole debacle still gets me.
>a meritocracy isn't inclusive, it excludes women and poc in this field
Are they implying that women and poc are inherently without merit? Umm racist and sexist much?

is that brad fitz as in the livejournal brad fitz?

github.com/bradfitz

yup

He is a sensible guy, it's all the Chinese posters on the Golang issue tracker that don't follow rules that are crazy.

Github uses canvas fingerprints, one of the worst botnets techniques ever.

>What's the worst things you've seen on github?
CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md

The name is not actually bad. One have to have rules.

It's called CONTRIBUTING.md

just search for python made code and you will find horrible code made by amateurs.
