None of those albums even compare to Blackstar, like why are you even trying?

You have fucking awful taste, fantan-tard.

blackstar is fucking great but it doesnt mean i cant have other favorite albums in the same year

...

ok! not mad at all just rec me something to listen from this year

Blackstar - David Bowie

Oh okay.

>tfw I wouldn't consider any new albums I've heard this year higher than a 7
Predicting Swans will take AOTY, and if the new Giles Corey album is finished in time for a spooky Halloween listen that might be another contender.

Waclaw Zimpel - Lines

shit didnt know giles corey was going to have a new album and ye im also predicting a aoty on that swans album hope im not wrong

AOTY will go either to Swans or Radiohead.

Swans given their streak of AOTY'S, though (2012, 2014)

what do you see in new iggys album? it kind of sounds like the latest arctic monkeys album (complete shit IMO) but with some le spoken word that adds pseudo mysticism.
like a huge fan of stooges (and kyuss) I felt really let down by this post pop depression crap.

>work at college radio station
>trainee pulls out Post Pop Depression
>tell her to go home for the day

it's embarrassing that people on this board are that critical of new music and yet think that the mediocrity resulting from the Swans reunion is worth listening to

Right, because he's supposed to force himself to like new music. I'm sorry but there really isn't that much good music being released right now. This is one of the driest periods of music history and will be hard to overcome. People just aren't trying anymore.

I will though.

>inb4 "Go to bed crazyaga"

What David Bowie album are you referring to?

>forgets the only one that matters

there is plenty of good music out there, quit being a baby.

i regularly go to local punk shows and that's a blast. local scenes are great

+ if you actually looked for new music in genres that never really fall behind, like jazz, you'd find a lot of interesting stuff

that one sucked

I prefer The Body & Full of Hell album to No One Deserves Happiness, but that's a good album too.

My favorites of the year are
Body & Full of Hell
Aesop Rock
M83

Looking forward to new Radiohead

Is this a good album? I see it climbing the 2016 charts. Describe its appeal.

Huh... Blackstar. When you copy paste the star icon it doesn't appear.

Yeah I'll be moving to Houston in a few months or so once I save up money so I'll get to see the local scene there and hear some music. There probably is good music out there, it's just harder to find it out now. Hopefully in a few years we'll see some overlooked albums rise up in the charts.

I fucking love it. Not my AOTY yet but it's a fun great record

The Body don't play any songs off Nobody Deserves Happiness live

it's just some really solid 90s alt rock revivalism

Is Post Pop Depression really that good? I heard one of the singles and it really didn't do much for me, should I give it another go?

Also, my AOTY pick is Promise Everything by Basement. Seller record.

1. Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
2. Deakin - Sleep Cycle
3. Kendrick Lamar - Untitled Unmastered
4. Open Mike Eagle - Hella Film Festival
5. David Bowie - Blackstar
6. Porches - Pool
7. Elzhi - Lead Poison
8. Oddisee - Alwasta EP

Don't really like much else
