>Plasma 5.12 LTS is the second long-term support release from the Plasma 5 team. We have been working hard, focusing on speed and stability for this release. Boot time to desktop has been improved by reviewing the code for anything which blocks execution. The team has been triaging and fixing bugs in every aspect of the codebase, tidying up artwork, removing corner cases, and ensuring cross-desktop integration. For the first time, we offer our Wayland integration on long-term support, so you can be sure we will continue to provide bug fixes and improvements to the Wayland experience.
Jaxson Sanchez
>no konqi in op Dead thread.
Blake Lewis
nice, it finally has night shift
Adam Bell
How easily can newer stuff like the blur that's coming with 5.13 be ported to 5.12?
Parker Sanders
>There is also an important change of policy: 5.12 is the last release which sees feature development in KWin on X11. With 5.13 onwards, only new features relevant to Wayland are going to be added. Nice
He has a little Katie in the menu
Christopher Long
Bloat is bad.
Christopher Mitchell
Go back to your minimalism thread.
Lincoln Campbell
Yes master
Charles Lopez

Owen Thompson

Logan Perez
Does it still remember all my open windows after reboot? I HATED this.
Joshua Sanchez
yay u are a cool person!
Grayson Reyes
it has a setting for that just like a browser, are you dumb
Levi Robinson
i was interested in wayland but not anymore, thanks, i'll stick to software that isn't infested with pedophiles
Caleb Robinson
Wayland support better be on par with Gnome this release. I’m sick of the graphical bugs
Thomas Stewart
You spelled GNOME wrong.
Camden James
I had it turned off but it still did that.
Ian Murphy
it already does this on 5.8 for me
Sebastian Reed
Are you on Nvidia? If so, there's your problem. meanie!
Zachary Hill
>focusing on....stability for this release
Connor Gomez
>macOS wannabe with equally retarded devs no thank you
Mason Barnes
>using KDE with its hundreds of dependencies
Shits bloated as a l4d boomer. I don't even use gnome (WMs>DEs) but It's hysterical that you guys actually have a dedicated "gnomegate" hate thread with that as the main reasoning.
Elijah Brooks
spoken like a good shabos goy.
Wyatt Foster
Radeon here. Installed plasma-workspace-wayland, logged in, shit's broken, went back to X.
Dylan Ortiz
>suprised they are focusing on speed and stability in a LTS release retard
Daniel Diaz
Plasma 5 was a thing before Windows 10. Kys.
Josiah Myers
it could be relatively easily done the devs just won't do it trust me, I asked they said distros can do it themselves if they want to
Michael Powell
is OwO the new Uguu of 2007? how do you even pronounce OwO?
Aiden Bell
>KDE 4 comes out >Win7 copies it >"KDE is just a Windows clone" >KDE 5 comes out >Win10 copies it >"KDE is just a Windows clone" I know why Win8 UI was so shit, they didn't have a new KDE to copy yet.
Colton Davis
Its a faec! Idk how u pronounce it but I think it would be oh-woah
Wyatt Ortiz
öwö
Isaac Bell
vocaroo it please
Levi Sanders
What non-flat theme I can choose for KDE?
Ian Turner
Proof?
Nicholas Peterson

Joseph Roberts
after updating to 5.12, I can't right-click on widgets, panels and desktop wtf right click works in firefox, and widgets that have their own right-click menus (like task manager widget) still work, but generic right click to access widget settings, desktop settings or panel settings is dead wtf
Camden Jenkins
>modularity is a bad thing
Oxygen and some of the themes that come with kvantum.
Robert Gonzalez
> Oxygen and some of the themes that come with kvantum. Can I have some Win9x theme?
Levi Young
that's built into plasma
Owen White
>DE requires systemd
Brayden Ortiz
And it looks bad and completely broken with gtk.
Benjamin Gomez
isn't it how win98 looked? whats bad about it?
Owen Davis
a lot of visual glitches in doilphin scrollbars, etc. and no proper window decoration
Gabriel Perez
>no proper window decoration how about something like this?
Juan Murphy
so what distro should i install to test out this awesome new release
Hunter Murphy
That's a Qt theme.
Nathan Green
>lts >kde LMAO ITS FULL OF BUGS
Carson Diaz
>KWrite NANI? Where is KATE?
Ethan Jones
>Vista comes out >KDE4 copies it >"KDE is just a Windows clone" >Win8 comes out >KDE5 copies it >"KDE is just a Windows clone
Matthew Kelly
uuwoah it's also more of a face that looks like a wide eyed :3
Adam Allen

Jonathan Reed
>not being a child molester is somehow jewish lmfao bruh
Noah Miller
>"i shat my turd before he shat his! mine's better!"
Adam Butler
uWu is deprecated. it is recommended that you migrate back to OwO which is better-maintained.
William Thomas
ö like the letter 'O', ö as in coordinate. >oh-w-oh w is wobbly mouth from extreme embarrasment your chronolgy is wrong. kde4 came out after windows7
Chase Cruz
>w is wobbly mouth from extreme embarrasment why is the mouth between the eyes? then it should be O O w
instead
Daniel Hill
>still no egl-wayland support
Into the trash it goes
Noah Bennett
it's a furry emoticon, 'w' is the animal mouth like as in ':3'
Anthony Moore
This! u understand me! ^_^
Cooper Anderson

Adrian Hughes
>using trashpad

Gavin Morales

Carter Fisher
>intel found ur broblem
Xavier Jones

Nolan Gutierrez
>gayland found your true problem
Henry Thompson

John Hill
>I haven't used KDE since 4, things can't have changed!
Why are gnomelets so fucking stupid?
Tyler Wilson
>not using broken toy software is autism yikes, i'll stick with software that actually works
Sebastian White
>don't talk to me or my trashpad never again
Noah Gray

Daniel Mitchell
Sorry user
Aiden Morales
be sorry for yourself first :/
Jace Perry
UwU
i wish KDE would allow you to switch placement of cancel/ok buttons
James Ross
use X then?
Michael White
this thread is making me want to switch to a different DE
Samuel Hughes
I'm using it at the moment, nothing is really bad about it, I would just want to try Wayland. Will they ever abandon X support?
Jonathan Sanders
everything is fine, just don't distro hop.
Ryder Richardson
>your chronolgy is wrong. kde4 came out after windows7 It didn't, i was using it late 08, Win7 was 09.
Logan Jenkins
whats wrong with KDE
Liam Jones
yikes
Angel Cruz
wtf I hate kde now!
Isaiah Ward
ok im sorry bruh but the reason i don't wanna use it no more is cause i come in here and everyone who uses it is just so painfully white you know what i mean
Leo Wood
holy fucking shit that is ugly. are their designers blind?
Jaxon Robinson
>painfully white
?
Brody Campbell
just like all this weird cartoon shit and talkin like babies n shit bruh like damn nigga
Luke Nelson
The best way to use KDE is to install the minimal package on Arch and build it up from there
Mason Lewis
looks like I'm staying with 5.8
Elijah Martin
there have been many attempts at bringing a better design to plasma the only thing that holds it back is the team called visual design group that decides if something looks-wise should be implemented or not you should blame them instead for their shitty decisions and stubbornness to change
Eli Jenkins
KDE is nice but Gnome is better
Logan Richardson
Gnoome is the reason nobody can take linux seriously.
Luis Rogers
why?
James Roberts
i'm a gnome guy too, i love the thrill of seeing what feature they'll delete next!
Joseph Young
Think on all those newcomers from Windows installing soon the upcoming ubuntu 18.04 and saying "What is this shit".
Nathan Williams
let me try it >text in the UI? why do you need it? everything is icons only now! >why do you want to manage files? only your home directory is accessible to you! aren't we secure? also you won't be seeing hidden files. ever. >only GNOME browser allowed for security and usability reasons. No more chrome or firefox. YAY! >no more hacking. we removed the terminal! new users won't have to be afraid to harm their system anymore. >root account? noone needs it anyways. completely removed! SECURITY!
