These images are getting more and more lewd

When is DDR5 coming?

Negro eres tu.

No more anime pls, im at work.

Tell me why I shouldn't buy this

Sometime this year, but any form of adoption by AMD/Intel will be late next year at the earliest.
Hide the images then
I've had trouble with the S340's USB cable getting stuck on the board. I ended up having to undo the cable locks with a small knife. Top of case and side panel are somewhat easy to scratch.

Somewhat related to pc building
How would i go about transferring my current pictures folder to another computer? I have around 2000 images and i don't want to start again
Is there somewhere i can upload them for downloading on the new computer?

because this exists.

I want to see PC cases my dude

I'd just compress it all to a zip file, then put it in a draft in your gmail account. When you lock onto Gmail on the new computer, you should be able to download the zip file from the draft. I've done this numerous times when I didn't have a USB drive handy/

Google Drive
MEGA
Dropbox

Or you could copy/paste from the drive to a USB flash drive, which would likely be faster.

is the preapplied thermal paste on the amd wraith spire coolers good enough? or should i pick up a tube of thermal paste

thanks, i'll try those options

It isn't the absolute greatest but it's not going to hold you back from anything, either.
I'd recommend using 7zip to compress it into a .7z file for better compression which means less wasted time.

will this be even faster than my current sata SSD? speccy in linked post so you can see current

...

Yes but if you have to ask then the speed difference shouldn't matter for you.

trust me it matters i didnt buu a board with an m.2 slit for nothing that and thr momitor market is pissinng me right off with the unexplainrd price hikes

I'd forgotten about the Pro M

Damn.

Just a friendly reminder that getting a refurbished office PC with a 3rd or 4th gen i5(i7 if you get a lucky find) and 8-16gbs of ram is the absolute best deal poorfags can get right now.

All you gotta do is throw in a low profile 1050ti.

i want to fug (((You)))

Or just hold off for a while more and wait for the crypto to crash even more.

Actually you know what.
Fuck small builds.
I love the look of this case.
ATX is unnecessary for me anyway.

for alternatives to 1050 ti

Best video card for 4K playback on Debian using a ryzen 7 1700.
Needs to be:
>silent
>cheap
>good Linux support

upgrading to a ryzen APU when they come out

How’s that an upgrade?
Going from 8 cores to 4? This is for a workstation.

then get a gt 1030 or 1040 holy fuck

fanbois... dont listen to him, for video stuff on linux, 8 cores should be just fine, Do you think you'll need all 16 threads though.

>1040
lmao, fucking brainlet

what? i didnt look this is very low effort for me

>1040
If you are talking about graphics cards, you should know there is no such thing as a "1040"...

like i said i didnt look there very well could not be one i just dont care that much

>I dont care
If you didnt care, then you would not have bothered talking about it.So if your going to show no effort then leave.

Fuck off brainlet.

I was asking you dumb cuck.

I run a ton of virtual machines, so 8 cores is nice. I would like 4K playback since the intel shit I got right now stutters at 4K with the integrated graphics. I guess 1030 but does nvidia have decent Linux support? Is pic related decent?

which cpu do you currently have? Also i'm pretty sure ayymd had better linux support, but im not 100% sure.

This kid has a better rig than you.

Is $190 M.2 PCIe 500GB SSD worth it over $140 M.2 SATA 500GB SSD?

$50 to go PCIe over SATA?

>3 monitors
no he doesnt

I7 3770.

>3770
Shit yea that old, older then even my 4700. Yes, I would highly recommend a newer chip for any vm purposes

pci-e is way quicker than SATA. SSDs are limited by SATA.

The ryzen 1700 is happening. I’m just wondering if that gt 1030 I posted has decent Linux support.

About to buy this. Anything wrong with it? pls respond

Threadripper Memory Problems Retard user here, it turns out I can boot and run fine at 3200 CL14 by just populating the DIMMs closest to the CPU instead of the "Asus Recommended" staggered orientation despite what google was saying. Now to decide if I want to keep that extra RAM for 48 gigs or just return it.

Tax season is all up in my sack and my pc is dead as the blm leader. So should I go 1700 or 8700k for my gamin pc?

M.2 running through PCIe is your best bet.

If pretty much the only intensive thing you do is game, 8700k.

That's really strange - my Zenith worked out of the box with Trident Z 3200 CL14 32gb in quad channel...

I want to preface this by apologizing if this question is dumb as hell but my computer knowledge is limited.

I'm going to be upgrading my motherboard soon and this is the first time I'll be doing it. Will this have any affect on my hard drive if I just plug it in and go? Or is there anything I should do if I want to eliminate any risk?

No but you need to be sure the socket is the same as your CPU.

Yes. If your windows is OEM, it will be unregistered. Everything will work fine. Just remember to uninstall your old mobo drivers and install your new mobo drivers.

Is it too late to sell my graphics card to miners? I bought it last year for $300 when 480 were out of stock for months and I was lucky to open Newegg when they were in stock for a few minutes. Would I still be able to get my money back? Or has the crypto scam finally died.
I have it in a mITX that gets shit thermals and I have to under volt it to keep it hitting +90°. I can handle staying on my old R5 260x until GPU prices go down and I could get a blower style GPU.

I'm actually getting a new CPU and new RAM alongside it, so that shouldn't be a problem. Still, thank you for the heads up!

I can get Windows 10 Education through my college for like $10 so I think I'm good there. As for uninstalling the old drivers, do I do that right before I switch out the mobo or after?

After

Yeah I don't get it either. Guess it shows just how rushed X399 was. Well, as long as this works, I don't give a shit.

Sounds good, thanks!

I just wonder what might be wrong. Great that you got it to work tho.

Lol, go for the 1700 man

I was able to get a new error code to show itself with all of the manhandling I did to make sure the stuff was seated properly into the outer slots - D0. That means some kind of problem with the slot itself, right?

It should work flawlessly so maybe ASUS fucked up the QC. I honestly have no idea. That would be kinda messy for a 500$ mobo.

How are you supposed to buy monitors on the internet? It feels so difficult to know what your extra dollars are really going to get you. Is now even a good time to upgrade? I wish everyone could agree on a true HDR standard and release something already.

What's difficult? The features?

best advice for me who lives in a country where electronics are overpriced due to taxes?

Knowing what features are actually worth the pretty penny. Coming from a HD 60fps dinosaur, it is hard to know how life changing everything else will be. Beyond that, trusting vendor specs (and comparing apples to oranges) on things like brightness, white bleed, contrast, and colors. Plus, I don't know how long a monitor has to last these days and when the VR meme or HDR become a reality. I've got a gtx 1080 driving, and my main use is gaming.

yeah right? This kinda upsets me. You is my favorite LLS girl, she doesn't need lewds to be awesome.

Google drive is great, I also use it to pass files on my tablet!

Sadly there's basically 1 panel that I think is good that fits your/my usage, and from what I've read it's kind of a gamble with the QC even though it's been in production for like 2 or 3 fucking years. Apparently if you're not a burger, Viewsonic also makes a monitor with this panel and it supposedly has better QC. What I personally plan is to wait for some big monitor sale (not the recent Newegg one, shit's still too expensive) and then get a pair of whichever one has the better price.

where are those characters from?

honestly, if you're buying a new monitor, the thing to invest in is some sort of Adaptive Sync tech to eliminate screen tearing. There's 2 to know about.

G-sync is Nvidia specific and relies on a proprietary module made by Nvidia and sold to monitor manufacturers. As a result, G-sync monitors are highly standardized, but also very expensive.

The other option is Freesync, which only works with AMD graphics cards. Freesync relies on an adaptation of the displayport itself to allow the monitor and freesync-compatible graphics card to communicate with each other. This allows them to sync up and eliminate screen tearing. Freesync is royalty-free and cheap to implement, so monitors with Freesync end up 2-300 bucks cheaper than comparably G-sync monitors. The downside is it isn't as standardized as G-sync so there's good implementations and bad ones. Reviews and research are necessary here to find good implementations.

Thanks. Yeah, I was looking at newegg's deal on the predator today but $550 is still a hell of a lot. G-sync is a hell of a lot of money, and I wonder if it is really worth it on a 144Hz panel. Don't you only get tearing when you are driving it near but not at the refresh rate?

those are Sup Forums antrophomorphic interpretation of video game consoles
i think those are xbox, wii and the ps and

>Don't you only get tearing when you are driving it near but not at the refresh rate?
screen tearing occurs when the graphics card is spitting out images faster than the monitor can display them

>Non-ECC Unbuffered Memory RAM
What did they mean by this? is this RAM good or bad?

ECC ram is only used by servers...

Flash drive is the easiest but could be fairly soon transferring onto the flashdrive and then onto the other computer. If you could, connect the hard drives from both computers into a single system and just click and drag the folders into each other. Would transfer a lot faster than a flash drive but could also be unnecessary work that could end up taking much longer in the end.

nvidia has been supporting linux for a lot longer than ati

Oh well, I got a normal desktop so it should be fine, I guess.

Anyone else running a 2500k? I have mine overclocked to 4.2 and using 16gb of ddr3. Just got a 1080 FE.

I found this video and it seems to sum up how I feel from reading reviews pretty well: youtube.com/watch?v=r6YuVEd-z58

I need to buy a cpu cooler for a fx 6300. I now is old cpu but It still run pretty well for my needs. So, I need to run the most low temperature as possible. I don't have too much money but it really I a need to get better temps now. I'm between a 212 evo and a Noctua nh-d15. I don't know if the performance of the noctua justify the price difference. If someone knows a better options, pls let me know

>when you finally find a new gtx 1060 card for a reasonable price, but you can't find hardly any reviews for this specific model

GPUs are pretty much all the same, maximum of a few frames difference between models.

It's a lot better, get a L9i for a lower end Noctua cooler

Forgot the pic

selling i5 4690 on ebay
respond if you are interested

Just get an evo and save for ryzen 2

Nice, thanks. The l9i is much better than the CM? I will buy it if it's worth it

Well, I just put together my first computer and no dice. When I flipped the switch, all the fans ran just fine, but the monitor didn't detect anything. I checked both the monitor and the HDMI cable on a different machine and they both worked, so I checked out my mobo's status LEDs and it gave me the code for "CPU initialization error".

I thought the RAM might be the problem and I was kind of right, because when I removed one of the sticks of RAM and rebooted I got a different error code: "USB Hotplug Error". This error code persisted even after I unplugged all my devices from the USB ports. The only devices that were plugged in were a keyboard and the USB stick that I intended to boot from.

I'm going to bed now, but I'll try it again when I get back from work tomorrow and see if I can't get this figured out.

Good night /pcbg/

2018 and the lighting still looks like garbage

Is a Z270 that much better than a Z170 for a mobo? I have a i5 7500 and I'm deciding between four mobos.

MSI Z270 GAMING M7
ASRock Z270 Extreme 4
ASUS TUF Z270 Mark 1
MAXIMUS VIII HERO

Anyone have any of these?

I'm reading that between them the 212 is better suited for oc, get a Cryorig H7

I recently got the D15
Figured I could use it on any future upgrades of mine and never have to worry about their TDP

CRYPTOFAGS ETERNALLY BTFO
youtu.be/bjvYL123w4w

Which one of these prebuild should I buy?

Don't have a PC and it seems that prebuilds are the way to go right now because of all the inflation.

>amazon.com/gp/product/B075H6J2D9/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A89QP6D3VDW1W&th=1

OR

>amazon.com/CYBERPOWERPC-Xtreme-GXiVR8080A2-Overclockable-i7-8700K/dp/B075VSBNQZ/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1517979514&sr=1-3&keywords=1080ti desktop

considering they are the same thing except for the CPU you should probably go with the 8700k

Is intel superior to AMD?

overall yes
ryzen is great when it comes to price for performance especially with the higher core count
but intel has much better frequency and overclocks
