This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
Looking for some help with vintage omegas. Last thread someone said that most 5xx movements are in the GOAT line for being fantastic production omega movements. I’ve been looking at a few vintage omegas and the three dial and case combinations that have caught my eye use a 601, a 620, and a 511 movement. I havnt had a lot of luck finding technical documents comparing and contrasting these models. Also these are manual wind not automatic and I can’t compare the two 6xx models to the specific automatic 5xx models that were posted last thread. Anyone have experience with these movements / know where to find resources that will help me?

>go to kickstarter's "successful funding" page to check out product design stuff >literally every other item is a watch
Anyone ever bought one of those kickstarter-funded watches? Much like the rest of that site it all seems like vague high-concept ideas that are difficult at best to realize, but I was wondering if anyone actually bought one of those and if it's decent.
