rec: hidden is such an amazing track, it always hits me in my feels.
I've got 2 of your albums. listen to them all the times. Good stuff man

A mixture of post rock and Lo-fi indie pop. Working on new stuff right now, going to be more upbeat and synth based. Been listening to too much vaporwave.
This was my post, seriously listen to lonely ghost particularly the album funereal it's so good
I said fuck it and started making demos. The lyrics on the two tracks that have them are just personal thoughts and experiences. I'd appreciate if you guys can criticize it. Also, how can I get somewhat good at singing? I am absolutely horrible which is why the songs are spoken word.
You don't have to listen to the first track, it's just a lackluster guitar instrumental.

Pretty good if you ask me.

I made a thing tonight. you might hate it. but i'd like some feedback either way
eternal reccs
the distortion on the pad sounds pretty cool, but you may want to compress your whispers and cut some of sibilance. I'd say your whispers should be a little bit more forward. The electronic parts are pretty cool, again with the distortion. This isn't my type of music at all, but good job. At around 2:20, I'd keep the 4onthefloor kick, switching it up really throws things off. But yeah, neat stuff.
This is awesome! The opening pads and guitar in the first track are wonderful. Yeah, everything about this first track is really enjoyable! I listened to no color, as well. It has a really good groove to it! Overall you me a little bit of adoptahighway but with more guitar. Really loving no color, though. Can't wait to hear more from you!
My advice to you is to practice, cut takes until you make literally zero mistakes, practice some more, be *constructively* critical of yourself, always seek improvement, never release something that isn't 100% finished and don't get discouraged. I've been creating music for over four years now, singer in my band and one of my best friends has been a producer for bands and artists for six or seven years, as well as creating stuff on his own for a little less than that. Also, all of that silence is a bad thing. It's easy for DJs to not play it if it will cause dead air.

I've got something a little different in the works for my next project. I'm actually in the middle of producing 2 albums for 2 different artists, I'm actually pretty happy to be this busy making music.
Do you like acoustic music with vocal harmonies? *Low quality recording warning*

by the way, i posted a one minute clip of my new EP on soundcloud, since i haven't made anything new in about a month
Do you feel it's more important for an artist to have constant monthly releases?
I used to try to get something new out as quickly as possible so that I didn't become irrelevant or forgotten. I shot myself in the foot however since the quality dipped and people stopped giving a shit.
Interesting.
So obviously quality is a controllable factor but what advise do you have for the artists who struggle with retaining people's attention/lost fans?
My methods are a little odd at best. I've changed my name and style a few times which has made me get a new surge of popularity and old fans find it and are pleasantly surprised.
The other way is that I produce a tonne of material for an album, release the best tracks as an album and leave off the worst tracks to. work on them for a new album. I also experiment with remaking a song from the ground up but following where it leads, which I can only describe as
>play the melody
>maybe hit a different note
>hmm that would be interesting if i then did this note
>then repeat and change the little things until they become a massive change
And bam, I have a new song built from an old one.
>Do you feel it's more important for an artist to have constant monthly releases?
not at all, i just feel the need to give my fans something since i dont want to be a forgotten soundcloud/bandcamp artist this fast, even if it's just a short clip from a song.
exactly, you don't want to become irrelevant but you also don't want to drop in quality, so you have to find a way to balance them perfectly.
I've yet to find the balance. My material has slipped through the cracks which sucks since I have some interesting new things in the works. There's temptation to release the unfinished work just to show people what I'm proud of but again, I risk poor quality by releasing something I haven't finished.
Obscurity it is for me then.
