Is this the future?

Will smartphones replace Desktop PCs and Laptops?

How's the Xperia XZ Premium?

Soon, I would like for this to be the case.
Feels pretty good, would recommend over the XZ1

yes, it's been happening very slowly for the last decade
The Ubuntu Unity will be remembered like the IBM touch smartphone from the 90s, way too far ahead of it's time

what makes it better than the XZ1?
The XZ1 looks like a pretty decent phone
(not OP)

I feel no difference in performances with these two phones. The premium feels great and looks great, if I had to get either for keep for a long time it would be the premium.

Interesting
I've had a play with the two of them in a shop. Even though the Premium is very nice, I'm not sure I could justify the extra cost for a bigger, higher resolution screen and different build materials

Personally I went for the XZ1 Compact :3

Should i get the 5T? I would like to get a good camera phone with EIS that doesn't break the bank.

Ben Eater.

Dude has an entire playlist explaining how everything about computers actually work and then proceeds to build and program an homebrew 8 bit computer step by step.

Are the Redmi 5 Plus Global Versions I keep seeing on Ebay with B20 support legit? I've seen no official word from Xiaomi about them anywhere...

The Premium has a 4K screen but the same internals.

Dunno about the rest of the world, but the Premium is somehow cheaper where I live compared to the XZ1 so I went for it, considering it's the better handset.

What are your thoughts on it?

Does Clover randomly freeze for anyone else?

Xiaomi Mi A1 or wait for Redmi Note 5?

Although having a Nexus 5X for a while, I always missed the how great my Nexus 4 fit into my hands. A lot of the flagship phones are huge and to have a smaller hands it sucks having to use them shuffling with both of my hands. Feels great to have a small phone packed with specifications of a flagship, typing is not scary but I do write slower now as I'm not used to it.

I've got a Huawei Honor 6 atm, been going strong for a good 4 years by now but the battery life is draining too fast, im looking for a new replacement. I've had Samsung devices before but imo they break too fast. I'll absolutely avoid any iPhones. Anyone got any suggestions for a new phone I could get? I've been thinking of getting a better Honor version but idk

My Atrix 4G already does this. Sounds like you need to replace your smartphone, grandpa.

is youtube over? i can't find any decent 3rd party apps that will allow me to log into my account

s7

meh, like I said, samsung breaks fast. I've seen countless samsung phones in random peoples hands with broken screens. I've dropped my Huawei more than a thousand times by accident and the screen is still in tact other than a few minor scratches and sweaty fingerprints. Are there any good chink phones that dont break fast?

non-removable battery

go chinkphone then

yeah but which one

i wouldn't know, i stay away from those

Just got a Pixel 2 XL, what are some good apps I can install?

do chinkphones even work in europe?

Yubo, set age to 17

Yes, chinkphones work

...

So it's settled.

Redmi Note 4

Kirino is back

Does the 64/4GB version or the A1 worth the additional cost?

>64/4GB version
IMO yes, it's like 20-30€ for 1GB more RAM and double the storage

>A1
Depends, with Mi A1 you get stock android and better cameras, with Note 4 you have MIUI (or a custom ROM) and better battery life.

>check the wiki
Am I blind or op didn't post it?

If I'm around to make the next thread again, I'll be sure to add this to the OP.

Why the fuck with all the headache around chinkphones? Buy an iphone. It's way easier than dealing with a stupid brick

Requesting a review from an user who has a Pixel or Pixel 2 (non-XL version). How has it been?

Looking for a T9 keyboard with Emoji support.
Why doesn't this exist?

My dad will die of old age before he can readjust to a QWERTY layout.

Any suggested music player?

For me, headphone jack (the most important), 4gb ram, expandable storage, more customization, can mod games, download torrents, can replace battery if dies and more...

Blackplayer, plays most music formats.

anyone with an iphone 4s? i want to buy one for the small form factor but i have concerns about the battery and performance (i really only want it for listening to music, calls and whatsapp).

Are phone cases a waste or worthwhile? I got one in the past but now that I'm buying my own I don't want to be ripped off.

Why don't smartphone makers make their software as good as custom roms? AOSP extended on my Moto X Pure is god tier with substratum and the ability to choose different animations

Is the Moto Z Play still good for another 2 years if I flash a custom rom on it?

I wish mods would ban the avatarfags making these OPs.

Poweramp does the job for me

Blackplayer EX (the premium version). I downloaded it off apk4free and it's the best I've tried.

I'll link it since it's still in my history.

Is there any adblocker that doesn't require root?

Why isnt there a phone like the htc one m7 on the market today?

Im indecicive on all the shit out there rn..

Hello anons, I come in search of advice for the intended use on a smartphone to decide between two of them, as I've been given a choice situation; A BQ Aquaris X Pro, and a Sony Xperia L1. This, in Spain.

While a quick google search can tell me that the BQ Aquaris is better in terms of RAM, the Sony one is also cheaper. I don't want good cameras or anything, as I don't usually do photos everywhere to post them somewhere. That being said, I do intend to use the phone to do calls from work, check Internet constantly, and especially chat through Discord and similars. For my current phone, said use has rendered the phone almost useless as it half-responds to the touch.

I do think I need a phone that's capable of withstanding casual to moderate mentioned use, and since I'm an ignorant in matters of phones, I was wondering if the Sony model would be able to deal with that for +3 years, or I'd be better off with the Aquaris?

Yes

What are the apps to get for my mom who goes grocery shopping a lot and is obsessed with sales and coupons?

Do I install the apps for the stores she goes to, or are there apps for good savings and whatnot?

Should I get a Pixel 2 XL or wait for the Pixel 3?

I'm sorta biased here since I have a 5T myself and my previous phone was a Galaxy S2 but I couldn't be happier with the decision I made, it's a really nice phone. Basically anything would've made me happy with how old the S2 is though.

Having said that, the camera is nothing special and if you highly value a good camera then you probably shouldn't get it. You can take some nice shots with the Pro Mode option but it's kinda pointless when the other top phones can easily take much better photos with Auto. Video recording is alright, stabilization is decent enough. Using zoom for either Photos or Videos is pretty shit because it's a digital zoom and not an optical one, image quality is very grainy. I'd definitely check online for some comparisons because there probably is a phone with a better camera at around the same price point.

I really recommend this phone if you're willing to sacrifice a bit of camera quality and the SD card slot because the price is great for what it is. The only other things that bothered me a bit were the speaker being Mono, the lack of water resistance and not a lot of variety in cases/screen protectors (mostly because of where I live).

How is MIUI?

DNS66, AdGuard

Used to be good, now it's chinese botnet.

Sony phones in general are pretty good but the L1 is trash so I'd go with the BQ

Hey androidfags, what's your youtube player?
Having to go to settings, set my phone to rotate then trying to adjust the rotation of my screen so that it doesn't reflip when in bed is driving me up the fucking wall.
Brave actually rotates the youtube player without changing the settings but it doesn't play like 90% of the videos for some reason.

So I made an attempt to root my phone and ended up having to restore the stock rom. It's still oem unlocked, but I guess that means I failed to flash SuperSU/Magisk. Does this affect my rooting experience in any way? I'm not exactly sure what those were supposed to do.

i want to fug kirino while she wraps her cute feet and cute socks around me

Convince me not to get a Z Play as my next phone (older one with a not-fucked battery capacity) now that it has a keyboard coming its way.

Is oxygen os bad at all? should I install lineage instead?

Guys I've need an answer as quickly as possible. What is a good case for a samsung j710.

I work for an RnD division of a big company. Since our IT department is horrible, my boss told me (a technical writer of all things) to come up with suggestions for a phone we can buy for our division. Thing is she did not give me a budget and asked for suggestions. What would you say is the best phone up to... well most likely 400, maybe 500 bucks?
We are going to test our own apps on those so I cannot go overboard with chink shit I guess.

In low budget bracket I guess Xiaomi A1 is the best bang for buck.
In 500$ it would be... Oneplus 5T?

Perhaps some of last tear flagships? I heard LG G6 has pretty sweet camera and specs and due to being blown out of the water by competition it is pretty cheap now.

What do you think?

TL:DR - I need to pick several phone suggestions at different prices for my division because my IT department is fucking incompetent.

should I get the moto G5S or something else at the same price bracket? I just don't want anything physically larger than the G5S

How much money can you get together? Have you tried a Pixel XL? It's the same size but much nicer although I think Moto will only support the G5S to 8.0

What can I expect when purchasing a """"""""""new"""""""""" iPhone 5S off ebay? Are they usually just seller refurbs, deceitfully named as "new never used"? Will the battery and display panel have been replaced with chink aftermarket ones?

I can go at most 25% higher than what a G5S costs
I'll not talk numbers because in my country the electronic prices are skewed, but the price proportions are similar

Ah I see, and you're referring to the G5S not the plus? I wish I could find an iPhone case that matches the texture of the Moto G 3rd gen, that thing feels so good yet it slides right into my pocket and doesn't attract dirt or lint. I love Moto phones but had to upgrade.

yeah, not the plus, it's too large for me

What a beautiful picture, user

V30 or nah? tax refund is in so new phone time. fix the shitty screen yet?

this is the quandry of buying "new (other)" iphones on ebay. it takes an eye to see if they post up quality photos of what they're selling, and how to know whether or not this is a slightly used phone or new with no box. I look for stuff like "factory replacement but I upgraded" or try to buy used new models closest to the release/sell date so you know the battery isn't already drained.

What's your problem man?

get the s9

I don't remember, but I'll modify it to fit some the Wikis

Because strapping phones with their shitware slows them down so people will upgrade more often.

im a sucker for the "quad dac" meme, so we'll see. s9 will have a better camera for sure.

>good camera
>good LineageOS support
>good battery life
>good quality display (OLED preferred)
>microSD slot

With these criteria, what phone should I get? Note that the battery is essential; my

G5 Plus or G5s Plus, non-Plus has nerfed clockspeeds

Anyone else hyped for the Moto g6 plus? As a 1st Gen Moto g user I can't wait.

Should be two months at the most before Amazon has it in stock

Okay guys please help. I'm in America. I have the ZTE Zmax Pro. I want a new phone. Must have 3gb of ram, screen must be bigger than 5.5in and battery should be 3900mah or more. All for under $300. Is the ZTE Blade Z Max worth it?

they're binned chips
