I have 2 green stripes in my screen. Tried doing a bunch of shit I found online. Stuff like removing my periferals, deleting drivers in safe mode and such. At least after those I can actually pass the log-in screen, before it was just getting pitch black once it got there.
How do I fix it? I really don't wanna have to clean my video card, since I have 0 tools in this shitty town.
D!ck unrelated.

Sounds like the LCD is damaged famalam, good luck
Connor Brown
I'd prefer for the monitor to have gone to shit tbqhwyfam. It just seems I am actually fucked with the gpu. Could be because you can't see through the fan, though. Don't want to clean it still, don't have me tulz nor do I have paste. ='(
Pls halp, senpai.
Christopher Adams
>tools the only tool you need is yourself and a simple fucking screwdriver
Hunter Powell
I moved, faccit. Don't have shit here.
Also I don't want to open it, clean it and slam it back in dry. ='(
Jason Thomas
thing is it might not even be the cleaning, the card might just be fucked, if it was really dirty the only thing it would do would be thermally throttle, so its most likely a bigger problem, try to plug your monitor onto your onboard video, if it still has the lines its the monitor if not then its your gpu
Ayden Adams
I tried it before the things up there. Leme restart and try again. Afraid it might actually not even let me see it again.
Pray for me, brethren; I need to play this last card.
Evan Campbell
what gpu is it
Evan Reed
XFX r7800.
Afraid I'm too broke to get a new one, senpai.
Andrew Cooper
increase gpu voltage and memory voltage by like 50 with msi afterburner
alternatively replace the video cable and use another variant-dvi if you're using hdmi etc
also not your personal tech support
Ian Young
Don't be a prick. I'm just asking for some ez stuff to try out. Still afraid of restarting this thing and get fucked.
Jaxon Miller
One of my Dell monitors broke and has a yellow line through it. It's nowhere that I could disassemble to get a soldering iron and it was past warranty, so now I have a vise-grip attached to the bottom of my monitor to get rid of the yellow line.
William Jenkins
>ez stuff >afraid of restarting the thing there isnt really anything else you could do except replacing a cable if you're afraid to pull a slider up 2 pixels or restart the machine
Sebastian Rodriguez
The monitor is workable if it broke. It's 140km away from me, along with my things, but it's doable.
So... All I can do now is restart and try another video port? If so, I'll just wait until I'm tired, shut it down and try tomorrow, at least I won't feel so shit because of it.

I have the same issue mate. Some jerk in the village spilled 1 liter tea on his laptop then gave it to me because "it died". There are three vertical lines (one pink and two yellow) on the screen constantly. I've plugged it on my monitor to check it, and turns out it's not the GPU, only the screen is dying.
Cooper Lopez
if you have a same type of cable it should be hotswappable dunno about different cable type
just fucking try the thing, unless you piss on it it should be fine
David Morris
Let's hope you're right. I'm using a shit-tier old monitor with a gaming pc, so the monitor really doesn't matter. It's hard to get things with the dollar high as it is.
>It died
And I thought I was stupid.
Using an HDMI to VGA converter. There is 1 HDMI port; VGA tried and failed; waiting to try this tomorrow because I don't wanna stay all night w/o at least some snes emulator.
Cameron Torres
>why not just fix the thing and go to sleep feeling good about yourself?
Brandon Rogers
Because it might stop working again. Also I don't know what is to feel good about yourself.
Parker Carter
>fix the thing haha i fixed thing i'm the best
Lucas Baker
One can't be the best for doing some shit others wouldn't even have to think to achieve.
