as accurate as they want it to be. personally if i wanted to learn about narcotraffic i'd read more than one book

This accurate

it's worse than depicted.

Not accurate at all.

Holy fuck hahahhaha

Not particularly.

In the last year, I've been to Colombia, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. There are lots of drug dealers and petty criminals, especially in places like Bogota and Medellin, but violence on a grand scale doesn't seem too common outside of Mexico. I never felt unreasonably endangered in Colombia, whether I was in the countryside or in the midst of a metropolis. However, I did meet a handful of travelers who had been robbed or mugged. One Indian girl told me that she'd had her phone stolen at knifepoint on Bogota's Transmilenio twice over the span of a single year.

All things considered, crime and violence seem to be dropping in Colombia. Medellin's murder rate, for example, is lower than Detroit's. That might be not an especially bright comparison, but it's a big accomplishment for a city that was, not too long ago, crowned "the Murder Capital of the World."

during the 90s I had a very happy childhood, playing in the street all day. During some of these years there were like 30 murders/year in my city of 70k inhabitants in the outskirts of Bogota, but I only came to know about that many years later. It was probably a shitty hood issue.

at most, it could be accurate for Colombia, in a period of its history.

Nowadays, the big drug cartels are Mexican, not Colombian, and Colombia is much safer than it was in the 90s.

Not accurate for present day Latin America. That series recreates the story of Pablo Escobar during the 1980s and he died in 1993

Interesting. How much time did you spend here? I've seen quite a few indians lately specially eating in food courts at shopping malls

>30 murders/year in my city of 70k inhabitants

That's extremely high and scary.

that's what I meant, but, as I said, I only came to know about that many years later. During these years I was very happy and this part of the city was very safe to my eyes.

now the city has 150-200 k inhabitants and there are less than 10 homicides every year.

How's Colombian cuisine? Is Bandeja Paisa worth trying?

no it's just beans, rice, pork and other things.

there are many other dishes and ingredients from Colombian cuisine that are much worth trying. Fruits and other products that you could only find here.

Damn

I love Latin American cuisine usually but Colombian is a huge hole

not too sure what else you eat

>brazilian actor playing a colombian druglord
Sure it couldn't be more accurate.

There are lots of options senpai. Bandeja Paisa is good but will leave you stuffed and drowsy for the rest of the day. There are many more dishes you could try
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colombian_cuisine

The accent was flawless

Some latin american countries have their own bean dish, we call it Bandeja Paisa here in Colombia, Venezuelans call it Pabellon Criollo and Brazilians call it Feijoada. Ithink Costa ricans eat a lot of beans too. I'm not sure if beans are a staple food in the southern cone though

bandeja paisa is very good, its not just beans n stuff, its unqiue stuff from a region very good

colombia has good food trust me, much better than sharty mcpanty

Did Carrillo do anything wrong?

It is

All of those things did happen, it's accurate the same way City of God is accurate to BR standards

>bandeja paisa
>lots of fried stuff with beans
>good

fucking pleb.

Yes we do, we have a dish called "casado", that is our version of the rice and beans with something else meal

RIP el patron :(

Who /Limón/ here?

I, as every other single Mexican, get beheaded every day. I only respawn thanks to the blessings of my lord Quetzalcoatl.

It is literally impossible to anyone to not get beheaded here whenever you go to school, work or just around the corner to get your tortillas.

First worlders would never understand.

Yes, that guy is based as fuck stayed loyal to pablo andadressed to him as " patron " even when pablo went broke, rip you magnificent bastard

I like that they mentioned Spain
It was a national celebration here

Arepas look dope.

Do you guys eat spicy food?

I'm surprised how much a lot of South American food isn't spicy

South American / Latin American =//= Mexican, aside from the common Spanish dishes we all have.

And a lot of the Mexican food isn't spicy at all.

>Colombia is peaceful compared to Mexico
>Costa Rica not on the same tier

You may want to actually educate yourself about the region before using tourism as a background on which to talk like an expert.

I've given up in trying to explain them desu. We only come out as cunts when we do it, and not only they won't listen, but who cares about what autists think in a Tajikistani claymotion forum.

He did Maritza dirty though

>implying

who /poison/ here

>brazil
>latin america

Lomo saltado and a lot of Peruvian stuff is pretty spicy

especially those sauces

Given the amount of hues who actually believe this, I'm not sure if this is bait or you are just being ironic.

Isn't it just dropping because all the coke production is moving to Peru?

Peruvian food is supposedly breddy gud. I want to try it.

There's a lot of Peruvian places here in LA.

It's pretty good stuff.

Those Incans know how to cook.

Limon was a real nigga

Fine, Brasil is Afro-America or whatever you guys want, don't get triggered

Maritza was gonna waste her life anyways

And let's be real without Limón, La Quica would've killed her in the most awful way

thanks for the spoilers you fucking goyim

read the fucking book fagget
everyone knows the ending

Pablo lives and moves to Mexico to become El Chapo

Sorry to spoil the ending

>limon
>maritza

>not spoilers

Lomo saltado isn't supposed to be spicy though... Probably a long shot but try to look for a place that specializes in food from Arequipa and order an extra spicy rocoto relleno. They know what's up.

Doesn't that mean marry?

Yeah it's mostly that green sauce or that orange sauce (name escapes me) that gives it the spice

This was like 25 years ago during some of the most violent attacks pre-9/11 though.

mah nigga

srsly tho, who the fuck isn't /carrillo/ here?

/pena/ imo

It's an accurate depiction of Colombia, just that.

>It's a "Murphy has lived in Colombia for years but still doesn't know Spanish" episode

>gringo making zero effort to learn and adapt to local customs

pretty accurate tbqh

Pena is a badass.

Moreso than fucking murphy

What county is Judy Moncada's character from? She sounds fucking funny for some reason

aspen

The character and actress are both from Colombia

She is from here, she talks like the stereotype of a paisa along with Berna and Gustavo

Reality it's worse. Since Cartels tend to do extreme violence i'm surprised that the worst thing despicted in the show it's gangrape.

Yes of couse, portugues is a germanic language

Here in Uruguay beans aren't eaten much besides as a part of guisos.

I imagine Argentina is similar. Not sure about Chile.

>normie alpha drug lord killed by men who called themselves Los Pepes

Beta uprising when?

Who /Murphy/ here?

I can relate to him

/Lemon/

The fuck do people like Limon for?

Narcos doesn't depict the modern day. Pablo Esobar died 22 years ago.

That's some savage shit. It sounds dumb, and cringey in English, but in Spanish it sounds like the coldest shit ever said.

Married man, actually. It was the common meal a wife would prepare for a farmer to take as lunch

>nicest person you'll ever meet

KEK

>tfw no Judy Moncada to dominate me
>tfw no commie Elise to fuck
>tfw no qt Maritza to marry

Wish we got to see more of Carrillo throwing plebs out of helicopters

That shit was based as fuck
