Yakuake.

just use the real thing,or are you to much of a pussy?

Because I use Emacs & Vim in a terminal, want nice colours and font rendering.

i use vim in tty2 like a real man

Simple terminal is a lightweight and pretty good terminal emulator.

Guake

Terminator
Tilda

xfce terminal. anything else is placebo.

Konsole is the fastest and most advanced terminal emulator

Alacritty is pretty nice

st

>have to recompile if I want to change a colour.

Yeah, no.

this when it gets scrollback
urxvt in the mean time

Not best but pretty minimalistic:
>LilyTerm

Keep in mind that depends on vte and has nls (native language support) enabled by default.

st is great

Wat?! You use truecolor & tmux anyhow. What colors do you want to recompile for?

This

You don't need scrollback in a terminal when tmux already has its own buffer.

Color themes are patches, are they not?

st.suckless.org/patches/solarized/

So I have to recompile.

xterm doesn't even do truecolor.

No. Again, you just use truecolor support, you can have solarized or whatever in bash, zsh or vim that way. Or you can do gentoo's theme for the bash, neodark for vim and solarized in zsh sessions if you want.

slow as fuck

BTW the truecolor situation is documented here:
gist.github.com/XVilka/8346728

Basically use something like st & tmux or some other valid combination from that document, and you can have truecolor absolute colors like in the rest of your software rather than ancient retarded 16 or 256 colour palettes that need to be shared between everything running in a terminal.

At which point you're free to use a different color scheme in vim and your prompt or whatever because they no longer do the very dumb thing of being restrained to the same colours.

Thanks, I will check it out. Frankly, I'm a bit confused right now.

slow in what way?

rxvt-unicode

this

st > urxvt >>>> everything else

xterm

look at that sad face on that thing :

This

Termite

using anything other than Konsole is autism

Konsole is the most feature-complete and stable terminal emulator I've used. Its like if Terminator was less ugly and less prone to crashing.

I run it in Gnome because fuck the police

>his terminal emulator can't do 4014 emulation

urxvt

That a topology map of Subnautica?

comfiest console. also nice that it imports .xresources. termite is also cool

What's the best and most /minimal/ one for Wayland?
