Which keyboards are those?

the one at the back is a tada68, the one in the front is a wooden one I made

The fastest numpad ever, sadly not mine

Cool thx

that was a fun little build

This pic proves that keycaps can fit on it

the keycaps I tested it with worked fine, maybe GMK doesn't understand the concept of tolerances.

I hope the beige trend continues from keyboards into other hardware, I fucking hate this rgb hellhole we're in now

have a beautiful beige keyboard thats so fucken classic but my mouse is gamergear shit since thats the only way to get nice stuff

My Spinner keycap will get shipped in some days

Can you upload the files for your tada68-like numpad case you built?

gonna solder in switches and assemble my clueboard tomorrow. Here's to me not toasting the pcb.

How bad did I fuck up? I listened to you guys... I got Cherry switches...

Cherry Red Siwtches
>45g actuation means my fucked up elbows won't scream after each day of typing...
>No click means they won't wake up roommates...
>Customizable lighting so I can plug into Macros and have screen-less syntax suggestions and visually distinct alternate keyboard modes
>$79.99
DID I FUCK UP?

>Corsair
Yeah, you fucked up bad

Oh and this is a Corsair K65 LUX. I know it's corporate trash, but they are supposedly worth ~$120 and have 5 star reviews at that price... Got this new for $85 with tax at BestBuy...

Are there any cheap Cherry profile ABS sets? Looking for something under $100. I like GMK Terminal but I don't want to pay the GMK + post-gb price.

But it says "Cherry Red Switches" and unlike Razer, Corsair supposedly uses the real thing?
If it really sucks I can walk it back to Best Buy and give someone else a brand new refurb and get my cash back.

From the money you could have bought a tada68

cringe

READ THE FUCKING FAQ

7) Why does it seem like Sup Forums hates Razer and Corsair mechanical keyboards?
- Razer has changed from Cherry switches to Kailh switches without reducing the price of their products
- While using Kailh switches isn't inherently terrible, Razer have switched purely to increase their profits

- Corsair mechanical keyboards have a certain aesthetic to them which attracts a specific demographic
- Corsair boards use a non-standard layout for the 5th row. This makes buying after market keycap sets difficult
- There have been reports of quickly dying LEDs on certain Corsair models
- RGB versions of this keyboard have had numerous issues with drivers and flickering

> I got Cherry switches

It's not a bad keyboard user. And if you're not into customization of the looks and the keymaps it'll serve you well.

Looking again at the Corsair, you all were right... It does look pretty childish... But muh lights... I guess I will have to wait for it in the mail and see if the programmable lights really are a useful feature.

If it makes you all feel any better, I plan on buying an adult keyboard once I have a CS job which is my overall goal in life.

The switches-comparison gif was one of the most beautifully autistic things I've seen on the Internet btw

kys shill

Is it normal that on mechanicalkeyboards.com I ordered on November 14 with ETA November 30 and it got gradually pushed back to April 15!?
Like what the actual fuck?

I got them because 45g actuation is lower than the other commonly available switches. Believe me, I'd rather have the torpe or browns or something.

>Calls me shill
>Not advertising anything

Could someone recommend any full-size keyboard with brown switches, NKRO and PS/2 support? The Cooler Master ones won't do, all of them have 2 start keys and no menu key. Backlight doesn't matter. As for budget, I wouldn't want to go past 150 € but if you manage to find anything that meets the previous specifications, I'd like to know about it even if it passes the price point. Location is Europe.

I actually need PS/2 support for non-meme reasons. The mechanical USB keyboard I'm using right now won't initialize if it is already plugged in before the PSU is plugged into the wall and needs to be re-plugged into the USB port to function. This doesn't happen on my old PC and this also doesn't happen with a membrane USB keyboard. Fiddling with BIOS settings didn't do dick.

Thanks, familia

Yo just fyi boys

My ducky with browns broke and I wanted something smaller so I replaced it with some chinatown element z-88 with the browns.

These knock off switches are pretty darn good and even though the keycaps are ugly af this is actually a super nice board for $50 if anyone's thinking about it.

>$50 for chink garbage

KEK

...

It is Coolermaster Masterkeys Pro S RGB a good keyboard? I'm looking for a tenkeyless RGB cherry mx red.

Anyone got an Ergodox EZ? Thinking of getting one. Would like to hear from anons as to whether the thumb clusters are actually usable first though

Literally just ordered this. I hope so. Ordered a nice keyset to replace the originals. I just hope the white interior under the keys looks ok, I think it will add I'm getting light coloured keys.

So I just ordered a new PCB to replace my KDB75s (I put some of those Kailh Speed Switches in it... not a huge fan and don't feel like desoldering switches and LEDs.). Before I've used Gateron Clear (the 35g ones) and Gateron/Cherry Red switches and been happy. Is there a reason for me use the Kailh Box Switches over the Gaterons?

>tfw noguns

go to the hardware store and build some yourself scrub

this thread is dead, keyboard memes are dead, no one likes typing on a cringy keyboard that wakes up your dick, please all go sleep, nothing to see in here

...

DCS or DSA?

>Buying keycaps

fucking hell man I just asked a question I didn't want to get memed on

found the newfag

found the newfag

how new are you?

Where do you guys go for sleeved USB cables?

I currently have a double-sleeved mini-USB cable with shrinkwrap ends. It's held up pretty well, but I need a mini-USB as well as a USB-C one now.
Preferably coiled.
Anyone have suggestions?

Found the newfags

there is no comfier mobile setup

what about one that doesnt permanently damage your spine by making you look down all the time

So did anyone else go to today's keyboard meet up?
I was surprised that there weren't all that many people from reddit there. Most of them that I met were from deskthority and a couple from geekhack.
I also ending up wining this keyboard from a raffle. Its a wyse terminal keyboard with vintage blacks and doubleshot ABS keycaps.

>I was surprised that there weren't all that many people from reddit there

Must have been a good meetup then.

woah, the french layout is strange

then why not get a keyboard with gateron clears from amazon since those are even lighter

>tada68
why?
just why?

>Gateron

It was pretty good. I meet the guy who's running the model F reproductions and he's was lots of fun to talk too. Someone also brought an original kishy model F and after typing on it for 20 minutes it's my new favorite keyboard. It's a bit lighter then the reproductions and feels smoother, but that could be the age. There were no beamsprings, but pretty much every switch was there, even vintage rubber domes

don't want to start a new thread, but been thinking of making a stenotype machine from mechanical switches and caps and a teensy/rpi. Am I heading down the wrong route, or are there actually resources out there to help get me started?

yes
Start with QMK github documentation.
Also there's a fat cringy girl on youtube that does steno with meh keybaords

There definitely are. I was at the keyboard meet up and a couple people had built stenotypes. They used a prebuilt PCB. I wish I had taken the name of it, but apparently its all on deskthority

>It's a bit lighter then the reproductions and feels smoother

Hopefully the new springs he gets are closer to the original.

He also had prototype keycaps that were closer to the feel of the model F ones instead of the unicomp ones. There was lots of other stuff too like how went through the trouble of putting the blemishes into the paint since the original kishy model Fs didn’t have an even coating, as well as the issues he had with getting enough pressure to get the ink to travel deeper into the keycaps during the dye sublimation process. The legends were nice and sharp too, much better then the unicomp ones.

Please respond I need some nice looking durable cables

just get some from aliexpress like everyone else

kys

I can't decide what kind of switch I want to go with.
Right now I think aliaz housing with mx clear stem and 67g sprit springs might be the way to go but the other option would be to give up on tactile(get a topre for that) and go aliaz housing, gat yellow spring, silent black stem.
What would you do user?

I just bought an undocumented fujitsu magnetic reed terminal board from the 1970's with billion+ keypress lifecycles, massive triple shot spherical caps from the real era that would cost a kidney in modern reproductions, NKRO, and a pretty modern layout in absolutely perfect condition.

All that for less than a hundred bucks. And all I gotta do is hook up a Teensy ++ and fuck with the code a bit.

Cherry clones are for chumps. Mainframe boards off million dollar ancient supercomputers for life.

>Cherry clones are for chumps
Cherry included

I've got some nicely worn ABS SA caps and I find myself stroking them mmm they feel so good how can you hate the well worn ABS mmmmm it strokes so good

openstenoproject.org/

Hnnnnng my dream
Please post pics

It's fucking perfect

I have made a small comparison chart where I tried to show pros and cons of prebuild mechanical keyboard and DIY ones. What do you think? Would you agree with me or I'm dead wrong on this one? Thanks in advance codepen.io/user/pen/ZrKYQY

Is the Filco Majestouch 2 worth getting for around 74$?

Hello poorfaggots, like my greenswitches?

clean your fucking keyboard
what are you a five year old who still needs his parents to make sure he washes himself

ain't nobody got time for that nigga

>unironically buying a gaming keyboard with lgbt backlight

This pussy actually WASHES HIS KEYBOARD FUCKING KEK

>snek
>call others poor
get on my level nigger

I want to replace my old 6Gv/2.
But I just love my hhkb. Isn't there something out there with blacks and a similar layout of the hkkb (mainly the CTRL, Super, ALT, etc.) bur less compact ?

Yes, but it’s all custom shit

Duck Blackbird and Jetfire, AL1

fml.

I had the Masterkeys Pro L RGB and is a great keyboard but it's too large :/ guess i will buy the Masterkeys Pro S for work and then a Filco/Vortex for home.

god why do all keyboard retailers take forever to ship, still waiting on my new keybuddy

>buys a rubber dome cause he’s poor
>thinks people want be on his level.
How about you get a proper mech instead

How about you don’t buy chink shit

I bought from mechanicalkeyboards.com

>buying from overpriced resellers of chink shit

don't be so mean

Doesn’t matter where you buy it from if it’s chink shit
Let me guess, you thought you bought a keyboard when it was actually a preorder

Still waiting for it in the mail, but check out these keycaps. Basically solid plastic. Very rare to have a black terminal that actually matches the color taste of modern hardware too.

And whole board. Yellowing isn't bad at all for 40 years either. I might not bother with retrobright since it tends to go sideways on dark keys.

Nice find. I’ve been trying to get a hold of a Honeywell tactical Hall Effect keyboard for some time now, but I’ll just stick with my IBM Bigfoot for now

no its in stock, just took them 4 days to ship now the tracking they're using gives no updates and its been a week already

Let me guess UPS is shipping it

fedex to canada, literally the only shipping update is "shipment information received" from a week ago

>Canada
That explains everything now
