sup, Sup Forumsuys. just installed LineageOS on my S7 and didn't install GApps for botnet reasons. what are some essential apps you use daily from F-Droid? Post homescreen too.
F-Droid
You are going to get hacked. Should only use the Google Play Store.
Yalp Store comes to mind. Allows you to get Play Store apps without having Play Store.
I downloaded some apps from Yalp but some come up with Play Services dependencies errors. What's your fix, user?
Google bait
Sure, I'll share some favorites.
K-9 Mail
>Simple and powerful, but doesn't integrate seamlessly with phone contacts
AntennaPod
>Strictly the best podcast player i've used on any platform, hands down.
Slide
>Decent reddit reader, similar in layout to official app, but with a few extra features and no ads.
Redreader
>Another reddit reader. Pretty good, with lots of data saving features, but the gallery experience isn't great.
Clover
>A decent Sup Forums reader. Doesn't support other chans, but looks very nice and runs smoothly.
MiXplorer
>a FOSS file manager that isn't on the PLay store of F-droid. You can get it from github and a few other places. Has excellent support for integration with a number of cloud and other networked storage solutions.
Silence
>a texting app with support for p2p encryption.
NewPipe for YouTube
Orgzly for notes
('Material Notes' is a nice looking notes app too)
Just lurk around F-Droid, add the GuardianProject repo. Add IzzyOnDroid repo also if u want a few more (less-libre) apps (ones that track you, aren't completely open source, etc).
I don't use Yalp store because it requires a Google account. I use apkUpdater on the IzzyOnDroid repo which let's you search for and download apks from Google play (without account).
Forgot pic
If the apps you use are reliant on Google Play Services you could download & install MicroG.
Forgot to mention,
Vinyl Music Player is my favourite music player on there. It's a fork of Phonograph which disables the paywalls.
thank you senpai
I will check it out. What does Vinyl do that you like?
Orange Simple Tools
Newpipe for YT music
Skytube for YT videos
Clover
Kiss Launcher
Yalp Store
Amaze
>I don't use Yalp store because it requires a Google account.
It does not.
Yalp doesn't require a google account. Why do you think that it does?
The UI is honestly my favourite part.
Customisability is a plus too, you can change the color scheme to pretty much any you want.
It has a built in file browser and tag/metadata editor.
>It does not.
When I first saw it pop up on F-Droid and I installed it it asked for a Google account, so then I just uninstalled it. Maybe it's been updated since or maybe I'm just retarded. My mistake then.
I just reinstalled it and I'm fairly certain it now uses it's own google account to fetch stuff.
And it looks pretty decent. I'll probably be replacing ApkUpdater with Yalp.
There's a lineageos fork that comes with microg, do check it out.

If you like chess, get lichess, not on fdroid but free software.
Retroarch. They have a repro you can add to fdroid.
Any wireless payment apps?
Look up the signature spoofing requirement. It's why there is a pre-made separate rom.

Timber

>its not Phonograph, but you may like it
VLC
Conversations voice recorder plugin
Those are all I have installed
Which icon theme is that? I like it.
You probably can't disable it because a lot of apps depend on it. For example when you're uploading an image it needs to use that app to browse your files by default.
So it's not necessarily clutter you (/other apps) need it right?
Is there an app that forward notification from one phone to another?
Or send notification to desktop?
I wear noise cancellation headphones, and I can't hear the phone ringing or if I received an SMS.
Not him, but it looks like the Papirus Icon Theme. I don't think there's an official android version of it, though.
Couldn't I set another app as the default file manager?
It's been in two past already, do you have brain damage?
Excuse me?
>MiXplorer
how does it stack up against Amaze?
You can't because lineageOS dev are assholes, I installed the microG version and it works flawlessly, the only thing missing is chromecast support for some chromecast api version.
