So this is why Windows 10 is free. They're charging you for the privilege of playing a DVD. You can't even play a Blu-ray on this shitty app. Why is Windows 10 considered an "upgrade" from Microsoft when they strip away features?

Windows 10 is free if your time is worthless.

>he wants to use windows dvd player

...

Other programs like VLC crack the dvd key which is actually not morally the right way to play a commercial dvd. You need a license. I was hoping for a legitimate way of playing my dvds.

What is preventing you from installing a media player that has the features you want?
Minecraft also can't play videos but I'm not taking screenshots of its store listing and complaining about it.

fpbp

fucking retard

Windows 10 is not free though.

DRM is not morally right.

Then pony up the $14.99 and say ten hail mary’s, moralfag.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

>You need a license.

YOU >>>WANT

So this is how the bongs justify having a "TV license"

>wants to watch DVD's the "morally correct" way
>the morally correct way to watch commercial DVD's is to pay for the privilege of playing a DVD
>doesn't want to pay
Seems to be a bit of a contradiction in your thought processes

So where's the problem? Buy the license.

upgrade to windows 7

What do you expect from muslims?

Not sucking off kikes

'sup gramps

*incoherent yelling*

Windows 10 was most likely shipped out without the proper licences for DVD and it would have actually costed them money per license "sold" to 3rd parties during the free period

You can get that for free if you upgraded from 7 ultimate or whatever version was that had the windows media center bundled.

>Watching a movie on your computer

>whatever version was that had the windows media center bundled
That was all except Starter IIRC. OP is just a faggot.

It's too cold to sit up and watch on a tv. I keep my computer by my bed.

>Windows 10 is not free though.

get a load of this newfag

>giving this much of a fuck about watching a DVD in the age of Blu-ray

You do you, biotch

Because you shouldn't use bloatware like microsoft Windows.

they gotta make a living somehow to pump out updates every month

Windows 10 was free for ages.
Not everyone uses WMP, since most third-party programs can play DVD/BD movies anyway.
Win10 is also WAY cheaper than previous Windows versions per SKU as seen here Though there's a difference between Win10Pro and Win7Pro, because W10P is the middle-ground update between Pro and Ultimate.
Though Win7Ultimate is just like Win7Enterprise, but with a different name.
Win10E is limited to volume licenses and doesn't offer an Ultimate version at all (as of yet that is).

TL;DR Win10 is cheaper than Win7, and offers buying features down the line which earns MS more money and costs less for the average user.

Why the fuck would you watch a 480p DVD on a computer these days?

I have NEVER paid for any windows version. sucks to be you. also my windows is legit, no cracks no hacks no daz loader nothing. its not the windows itself thats the problem its obtaining legit keys.

Because patents are not free one-red.com/en/license-programs/one-red-dvd-disc-and-dvd-player-license-programs/dvd-pc

...

I paid for Win7 Ultimate on release for 50% less since I was a Win7Beta user and got the license from MS as a way of thanks for providing feedback.
Though I DL'd Win10Enterprise since there's no current version of Win10 that offers as much freedom as old Ultimate/Enterprise had as I wrote in the post above.

It was not a piracy vs buying post, just a post explaining that Win10 is cheaper because they removed features few used.

DVDs still have a good bitrate so even with the low resolution it not like its terrible even comparing it to alot of streaming sites which love serving bitrate starved steams

I always make sure to rewind my VHS tapes before donating them to Salvation Army

But do you rewind your DVDs before donating them?

No, because I use a special HDCP-compliant player in which the laser actually spins around the disc. This prevents wear and tear on the DVD, making my DVDs more watchable by future generations.

Get the rope. You have no standards.

its the new trend take features away and make them pay for it

I chuckled

Download debian, download makemkv. Problem solved.

Why does MS not release a DVD player for free? There shouldn't be a valid DVD patent anymore.

MPEG-2

I pirate everything so my conscience is clean

>not having a good copy of kms pico without ad ware and cracking win 10 to win10 enterprise destroying all the bloat

lol

most don't expire till next year with the final few expiring in 2023 or something

DVD playback isn't free.

Or more likely a vast majority of machines don't even include optical disk drives, so why would Microsoft pay for the MPEG2 and CSS licenses for every user, driving up the cost for everyone so the 3-4 people who actually play DVDs on their computer can continue to play for free.

DVD playback isn't free, there are TWO hefty fucking fees.

>actually not morally the right way to play a commercial dvd
Stopping me from playing a DVD I bought in a machine I bought isn't morally the right way to deal with paying customers. I bought it, I can play it however I like. Using free software to do so is not violating anyone's rights to any content involved.

If I buy an LP and choose not to pay up for a record player, it doesn't violate anyone's rights if I put it on something else I can spin and play it with a sewing needle stuck to a horn. It isn't the "right" way to play it -- it won't sound nearly as good and it'll damage the record faster, but that only affects my experience, not whether anyone involved in creating or selling me the music gets paid.

Same here. The video might have a slight lurch on key change if it takes a while to crack the next one, but if I don't care, it's fine. I'm playing my legally purchased DVD.

The only morally correct way to access commercial content is to pirate it.
Anyone who actually buys dvds or proprietary content is a bad person for supporting the corporate jews.

how did we come to this
