I only use it because the chairs are so fucking awful

I think theyre neat,I think sitting-standing desks are a must

>have the privilege to not stand all day at work like a retail cuck
>get a standing desk anyway

Super gay. No one with a real job uses a standing desk lol

theyre gay as fuck and dont work for me

Standing all day will give you a compressed spine. Get a sitting desk and exercise every once in a while.

useful for when my hemorrhoids flare up, but not otherwise

I can't stand so i'm not all that into them.

Are you a qt wheelchair bound grill?

They're alright but I mostly like them as I can dial in just the right height while sitting.

no just a boi

eat some sunflower seeds every once in a while, it will oil up your tubes and mitigate the issue you might be having

I use them to prop up my monitors higher. I don't actually stand since it's worse for your body...

close enough

I've tried it.
I've concluded I'm not fit enough to stand 8 hours a day.
Generally I don't switch so I end up sitting.

Everyone I see who has one ends up leaning on it one way or the other...not sure that's helping your posture

ok :)

VARICOSE VEINS

i prefer to sit on the floor

sir me too

This.

SOYDESKS

OPEN BOB SHOW VAGEEN

fucking hipster fad. People go to school so they dont have to be on their feet while doing slave labor all day.

get both if at all possible

32 years retired here with a bad back

meme

it's good, but you shouldn't be standing all day either

Standing Desks are ok, but they need to leverage currently available technology to create an associated Standing Chair for the serious technologist. Must support 500 lbs minimum.

this.

If you're sitting 6 - 8 hours a day, just get up once every hour and do simple warm up stretches.

t. 40 year old whom been sitting since 16 all day and in perfect health.

nigger-grade meme

going to start seeing a lot of bald 40 year olds with bad knees in 15 years

Bullshit. Absolutely none of (You) know what you're talking about.

>t. butthurt hipster-nigger

>all the people here in their 20s saying it's a meme
we'll see in 10 years when your back is going to so fucking hurt you'll literally prefer destroying your feet and knees over sitting.

Spotted the 400 lb basement hacker

I have one, but since these days I'm mostly gaming at my computer it's rarely used in a standing position.
At work we have terrible desks, I don't even fit under mine (192cm) and there is a metal bar running through the side where we're sitting. It's painful.

only one guy in my office got a sitting/standing desk as a meme when he heard our HSE guy cared about ergonomics. He used it for half a day once and basically wasted like $3,000

I raised it once to try it out then lowered it back into the sitting position where it has been ever since.

spotted the soy-infested nigger

uncomfortable and works only for normies that do not use their computer for more than 5 minutes

Not him but I'm 6'7 and 190 pounds which is average, because I'm so tall my back hurts a lot. If you use a standing desk all day especially when you have to do a job where you need your full attention isn't doable.

Those only work, if you mostly use a mouse and type a lot less.

I'm still waiting for the "bed desks" or the "hammock desks" office fad.
If there's one thing that millennials can do right it's this thing.

This.
I've also seen guys use a bar stool for even more awkward positioning when they get tired of standing.
Ergonomics just seems like an easy way for morons/hipsters to waste company money and time installing this stuff

>What do you think about standing desks, Sup Forums?
That's clearly a adjustable desk, OP.

I have an adjustable standing desk at work.
I literally never use it standing up. I'll only occasionally raise it if I want to get at something under my desk.

It's a fad. A trend.

It is counterproductive in case you are doing real work. The cases when your knees give in due to the severity of the issue, or when you lose faith in humanity, again, will lead in 4 out of 10 times to you heavily bumping your chin on your desk. Cannot recommend it.

i cant sit for long periods of time so they are a godsend

a good chair is much better than these but they are usually hard to get.

Get a nice anti-fatigue mat. I used to work in a warehouse, and standing for a bit, then sitting on a high stool for a bit was pretty good, but you don't want to just stand on a hard surface all day.

look it up. standing still for long periods is worse than sitting with breaks. the standing desk is a meme. an expensive one.

Dunno why everyone hates them ITT, I'll usually raise it up for an hour each day

have a height adjustable one at work, i alternate every two hours or so.

Mat absolutely helps.

I wish i had one... It's refreshing to stand once in a while

I have one at work. Biggest meme

This.

There is literature on the subject. There's even an ongoing experiment: standupkids.org/. Different cohort but valuable nonetheless.

I suppose those engineers at Facebook and other large companies aren't real.

In hopes to undermine the trend to shame anyone that tries new things, I would encourage any user out there that is worried about their health to GET MOVING. A standing desk may be a stepping stone to a healthier lifestyle.

Facebook also thinks rapefugees and self-castration are healthy.
