I'm on my third one. (Paid for two.) Second one failed after 84 days. Box claims a three year warranty, but their web site has no sign of how to use it. (Nor does Best Buy.)
Are they not meant to be used as a boot drive? I have an SSD and a 6TB Toshiba in it. I liked this idea because I didn't want to use up two USB ports.

>OP is too retarded to setup and use their computer >OP screws everything up and comes to Sup Forums to whine and cry like a typical faggot Fuck off

Do you have a macro so you can type crap without actually being able to read? It works fine until it breaks 3 months later.

Why can't SMART data be accessed from USB connected disks?

>Box claims a three year warranty Did you learn that "warranty" means absolutely nothing anymore? Manufacturers know how to legally not honor them, and they don't need to rely on word of mouth for products ever since they figured out just how cheap it is to rent out internet shills.

Which part of >Sup Forums is NOT your personal tech support team do you not understand?
Juan Reed
I'm not sure what you are asking here. The two drives work fine once I replace the docking station. I've used the same drives on all three.
Jayden Collins
>Which part of >>Sup Forums is NOT your personal tech support team >do you not understand?
The part where I warn you guys of a product that has poor quality control.
Dominic Hernandez
In my country the government will pwn a company if they don't offer replacements.
Carson Ramirez
I don't understand I bought one 3 years ago and its still working just fine
Owen Walker
How many hard drives have you put in it?
Christopher Allen
I put 2 hard drives in every morning
Christopher Martin
>I put 2 hard drives in every morning
WD White? Or Wheat?
Nicholas Nguyen
>In my country the government will pwn a company if they don't offer replacements. Easy. Just keep sending broken hardware at your cost of delivery until you either give up, or don't notice the malfunction. Better yet claim that you somehow voided warranty.
Evan Barnes
What other experience have people had with docking stations? Are they better/worse than enclosures?
Christopher Robinson
They look like a toaster.

there is like nothing to fail in one of those. wtf is wrong with you?

smart works fine over USB. I have a single 3.5" tray I use for troubleshooting and then 3 externals worth 12 TB, they all show SMART

I haven never had a issue in getting warranty honored. Usually shipping fees (or packing) are the biggest pain in the ass.
Jack Rodriguez
>product costs $30 >shipping is $17.99 every time
Henry Clark
It usually can, with good enough programs like HDDScan
Owen Hughes
is NOT your personal tech support team They are good for when the drive is just being loaded or troubleshooted. I've had some old Iomega NAS drives that got wonky, it was nice to have the docking station to verify the drive and fuck with it from a windows host. Although that required installing some EXT drivers in Windows to save my data. Kind of fucky to get working with windows tho.
Fuck iomega

>is NOT your personal tech support team
I'm not asking for tech support, I found the problem myself. I'm warning others about a pattern of poor quality, and checking if others had the same problem. Isn't that what a forum is for?
>Kind of fucky to get working with windows tho.
Effortless for me. But two of them broke a few months later.
