How do you go from this...

1024 m = 1 km desu

Do you seriously don't get it?

>what is kilo

>confuses kilometers with kilobytes
leave the house more fãm

Kilo means "a thousand". That's why.

Because it's libras

Kilo means a thousand and you can use it for anything. In MMORPGs you'll often see 12k as 12000 money and then 12M as 12 000 000. Here tho sometimes people will also say 12kk instead of M, which you shouldn't do anywhere else.

Metric scaling can be flexibly used for anything, though sometimes the results will be weird, like measuring liquids in centilitres (cl) here, while cunts like Spain do it all the time.

kilobytes are 1000 not 1024 nowadays for the purposes of calculation afaik.

...

No, they're not.
I mean, when you're buying an external disc drive, you'll notice they write "calculated based on assumption that 1kB = 1000 bytes" or something, but that doesn't mean the rule changed.

I think kilobytes are actually 1000 bytes. Kibibyte refers to 1024 bytes.

>american education

The only thing that I wish the rest of the world was using was the Imperial Units for temperature for daily purposes.
I've found that Fahrenheit is a lot better at giving you an idea of how hot/cold it is outside.

0 degrees Fahrenheit = Very cold outside
100 degrees Fahrenheit = Very hot outside

0 degrees Celsius = Pretty cold outside
100 degrees Celsius = Dead

That's the only thing Americans have right. Other than that, you guys need to get your shit together.

>I've found that Fahrenheit is a lot better at giving you an idea of how hot/cold it is outside.

0 degrees celcius is when water will freeze to ice
100 degrees celcius is when water will start to boil

celcius is superior, because you know that if it's below zero then it's gonna be ice and snow outside, where as 0 degrees fahrenheit is some some random, arbitrary value

Japanese education

You're spelling it wrong. It's "1000 metres"

A "meter" is a device that measures, e.g. a gas meter

played mmorpg on cz/svk server, we just added K when we needed bigger number lol

1k=1 000
1kk=1 000 000
1kkk= 1 000 000 000

Americans don't really grasp English at all. Dumb shits

Regularly having to work with Americans on academic papers, I have to deal with fixing their idiotic misuses of words like "measure" vs "measurement" etc.

...

This, it comes from the French "mètre" which also comes from the greek "metron", I dont see "ter" anywhere.

How do you go from this...

1kkk roughly equals to 1 lynching.

...to this?

American English is the lingua franca
Deal with it

I would like to order 10kkk's

You shouldn't joke about suicide

they hunted down all the buffaloes to extinction to make big mac patties.

>meter
what did he mean by this?

Nah I won't deal with it. This is like Newspeak. There's a different spelling for two unique meanings and they're removing one of those spellings.

but they are so cute

I don't see any difference, there is a buffalo in both pics

It's like poetry. But who hunts the buffalo now?

No one because native Americans are a fucking minority on their own land

Big corporations

He's probably 1/64th Dutch.

>the rule
There never was a rule. Computer """"scientists"""" thought shifting a value 10 bits to the right is an easy way to approximate kilobytes and megabytes.
