1) Install the List My Apps app (It's open source)

You were doing fine on FOSS until MX Player showed up. VLC 3.0.1 has actually caught up to MX and does more.
Shazam and mxplayer are probably the worst ones I have. Thanks for the tip, will try out vlc for now.

I don't know why but its either because of the VLC people or F-Droid. Just get it from Yalp. The Play Store is always fast to update it.

Using that for now, found the dark theme setring, so it's very comfy already, i dig the orange accent color too, way comfier than the soulless mx interface
Yeah, VLC has actually made it to the top spot in Android video players. It even does chromecasting and soon you will be able to cast to TVs that have DLNA but not Chromecast.

Thanks for the heads up, already deleted it. Sticking with vlc as any sane person would. Only thing missing so far is the option to go past 100% on the audio volume, maybe I'll find it sooner or later. Pop up player is neat and play audio only as well.
