goat classical music

I listen to a lot of soundtracks. actual classics play with volume and time too much for my taste

Who said that i don't? I only listen to classic piano tho

replace age with wave and disco with techno

guess you don't really like music then

jazz has nothing to do with common practice, stop dodging the question

It seems so damn inaccessible. I've been hooked on jazz for the past couple of years and recently became fascinated by classical, so I gathered all the links from the sticky, downloaded a few charts, watched some history videos, asked questions of musicians who know some shit about it. Now all I need to do is sit down and really dig into one composer. I'm thinking Bach, even though I'm more drawn to what I've heard from Strauss, Shostakovich and Wagner. Maybe I shouldn't narrow my focus too much on Bach.

Any tips, OP?

I'm still working through Baroque.

go to spotify and look at related artists to the one you are listening to. There you go, now you have a massive library of classical

I listen to more classical than you, casual.

>classical
>jazz
>metal

The fedora holy trinity

>ruling out a genre
Only plebs do this.

Bach is my personal favorite but no need to limit to yourself to one composer (or even one era, though baroque is my era of choice)
Try to listen to a good variety. Solo piano, fugues, opera, suites etc.

I'm not even sure it's possible to be "serious" about music and not be at least decently versed in classical.

L.O.L. [laugh out loud!]

because i get the urge to invade poland then

Classical music is really just stylistic compilations of traditional folk music that has been academically refined. Same thing pop does to localized underground music. It's no better or worse than any other genre, and feeling elite for being into it is kind of stupid.
