Sup Sup Forums, I need some help. I've lately been getting more into hip-hop and rap, but find it really difficult to find newer stuff that I like (I usually use Spotify). Need some good suggestions. Either artists, albums, or individual songs would be great.
Some of my current favorite artists: Aesop Rock (and several of his numerous side projects), Solillaquists of Sound, Logic, some of G-Eazy, Busdriver, Childish Gambino, Kool Keith, Gorillaz.
What I usually like in the genre is smarter/more complex lyrics and a strange sort of beat (particularly why I like Aesop and Kool Keith). I also like bass-heavy stuff that isn't too in your face (a la Logic).
>newer stuff I live hip-hop, but rarely listen to anything dropped after 2000.

You should listen to TLOP. I know it's mainstream but it really pushes the edge on production. Pretty sure it landed on Spotify recently. Also keep your eyes peeled for Turbo Grafx 16, I got a good feeling about it.

I told you I only recently started getting into it.
