Data Usage thread - PC edition

How much traffic have you niggers used in the past 30 days?

What's a good linux tool to monitor this?

did not know this was a thing

Why does it differentiate between uTorrent and uTorrent.exe?

i have more than 1 running. it gets laggy after about 7000 torrents in 1 client and it is stuck in a constant update loop so i just run multiple now

>use NAS as main storage
>data usage completely worthless as a metric
Though I suppose the browser still works as Internet usage.
50.5GB

ABSOLUTE PROPRIETARY AND BOTNET

what?

>Windows 10
>uTorrent

are you a wizard

...

and what about OP?

windows 10? u blind or dumb?

that's not Windows 10. It's openBSD with a Windows skin. Look at the pixels, you can tell.

do you faggots really torrent on your main machine? What about VPN?

Thank you for your kind information. I don't knew. You are a tech wizard man. Wow.

>What about VPN
You don't need it unless you're in a shitty totalitarian country.

third world detected

>third world
By that definition only Germany and parts of US are first world.

correct, sir. I'd only want to live in Germany and parts of US.

Me too. US has good employment for my people, Germany gives you more money on social care than I'd earn by having a job in my homeland.

>What's a good linux tool to monitor this?

I'd like to know as well. I'm not metered but I'd like to know the stats just for fun.

You get more money, but everything is expensive as fuck

acutally the cost isn't hight at all. Compared to other european countries stuff like food is cheaper than most european countries.

>OS monitors all your data usage
Ahahahahah cUcKS!!

I'm in the UK user, the most they're allowed to do is send a strongly worded letter and I've never even seen one of those. No throttling either.

I only heard about UK blocking TPB (DNS filter, lol) and make you disclose to your ISP that you don't want porn filtered..

here in Germany you get a "Abmahnung" for torrenting, usually 1000€ for the first offense. Streaming is a grey zone theoretically, but I wouldn't risk it without VPN. I've seen people get those Abmahnungen because they shared/sold their wifi and idiots were doing idiot-things. Nothing you can do in court and lawyers cost more than they can lower the fine. Just. use. VPN. Seriously.

UK ISPs block torrent sites every few months, i.e. they follow the exact orders of the companies and block the exact URLs mentioned in the court orders. I love our ISPs.

Spying botnet is strong in win10.

Work PC.

they started blocking streaming sites in Germany on Vodafone. Creepy shit, but again, DNS filter. So far the only ISP to do that.

What is a good trusted DNS in Europe (preferably Frankfurt/Berlin)?

Health care, schools, public transport and a few other things are cheaper in most European countries.

>torrenting, usually 1000€

Jesus this is nasty, does VPN hide traffic good enough?

All of those listed are basically free in Germany... Transportation can be expenive, but not significantely.

It encrypts traffic. The ISP wouldn't know if you're torrenting but they still see how much data you're receiving.

>free in Germany
They're free in almost any EU country. Public transport depends on the city size usually and is usually only cheap with student/senior discounts.

Why would I need a VPN?

hmm

>live in 3rd world shithole (USA)
>have 1TB per month on "unlimited" plan

Doesn't show anything because I intentionally broke that feature

What the hell is wrong with you, lefties? Seriously? Here we've had 1Gbps fiber for more than a decade on consumer grade plans, and I've never heard of data caps outside of mobile data. Nowadays it's impossible to even get a plan slower than 300Mbps, and even that one is usually boundled with other main plan, it's offered more as an extra "freebie".
