When will he fix the Linux filepicker?
When will he fix the Linux filepicker?
There's no such thing in kernel.
never, everybody does its own little thing and fixing the filepicker by default requires cooperation.
Lennart will fix it when he implements filepickerd as a module for systemd.
kek
I don't know if it should be within systemd, but I would actually welcome a systemwide filepicker.
So instead of calling a toolkit function, you make a debus call to a filepicker which then spawn the window and returns the path to the file instead.
This way, people can use the best tool systemwide instead of having a good file picker in one application and a shitty one in another.
It's already fixed.
It's called KDE.
I'm pretty glad you don't design software.
But its not by default so its not fixed
There is no DE, not even GUI by default in Linux.
I don't know what you're on about with dbus but you can already do that
$ kdialog --getopenfilename .
It is on my distro.
there's no default in ganoo linux
I honestly wouldn't be against a "standard" file picker daemon that your X11 window manager or wayland compositor would implement.
But you'll have your retarded GTK fucks who want to "embed widgets" into it, which is a feature that nobody fucking uses.
Default Linux file picker is Bash.
Third-party.
So is Gnome, or anything GNU.

top kek
you have no idea how linux works
productivity is overrated
it's all about backing up and reusing config files
GTK/nu-GNOME developers are cancer
Which is honestly, it's biggest flaw.
Linux is a half finished expierence for desktop users. Yet the penguin fucker is still confused why it's not used
He's very cute, I'd certainly let him push his systemD into me
He's busy bringing Javascript to systemD core
