how will rock music have evolved 20 years from now?
How will rock music have evolved 20 years from now?
Recycled to a homogeneous, bland mix, compressed and scooped to the point it would sound like static to our ears, a voice that hasn't been autotuned will sound alien to 2036 natives.
Heavier rock will use guitars tuned a full octave down exclusively, and vintage instruments will be retrofitted with bass guitar tuning pegs and bass VI bridges. Bass guitar will be redundant, and replaced with analog modelling synth in practically every genre.
Acoustic drum kits will consist of only piccolo snare, double bass drum, and ride cymbal. More nuanced percussion work will all be done via computer.
Sort of like it is now; largely repetitive celebrations of previous eras with a handful of interesting and forward thinking artists.
>still believes in genre distinctions
Rock died 20 years ago lmao, who gives a fuck.
Nonexistent
yeah, because there's definitely no genre difference between the new radiohead album and the new chance album
it'll be cremated in an urn instead of just lying on ice in the mourge
just curious, what are some current artists you consider to be forward thinking?
As far as specific albums go;
Man Forever - Pansophical Cataract
Arrington de Dionyso's Malaikat dan Singa - Suara Naga
Zs - Xe
And to be entirely honest I think Liturgy are playing around with some interesting ideas

Looking forward to this tbqhwy
>tfw all these autists can't predict anything new happening to rock music so they prematurely declare it dead without looking for all the cool new music being made.
Rock will fuse with vaporwave and trump america will be a nostalgic retro 80's cyberpunk nightmare.
Metal will fuse with EDM and metal heads and ravers will become one, and it will make some interesting ideas like combining death metal with disco.
Rap will stagnate because it will still be the same nameless meme rappers rapping about lean over generic trap beats in 5 years.
Country will be inundated with hipsters trying to embrace their roots and make pretend they are cowboys and outlaws instead of castrated nu male hipsters.
Radiohead will release their final and tenth album, an experimental art rock progressive dream funk kraut rock electronic extravaganza and it will be the last physical album ever sold
>vaporwave
I want this memegenre to die already.
>Rock will fuse with vaporwave and trump america will be a nostalgic retro 80's cyberpunk nightmare.
goth/ethereal wave/coldwave?
>Metal will fuse with EDM and metal heads and ravers will become one, and it will make some interesting ideas like combining death metal with disco.
nu-metal/rage rock?
>Country will be inundated with hipsters trying to embrace their roots and make pretend they are cowboys and outlaws instead of castrated nu male hipsters.
americana/outlaw
>Zs - Xe
not rock, but it's a great exemple of forward thinking artists
Vaporwave has a very specific aesthetic and sound, you combine that with rock and rock is refreshed.
Nu metal was rap metal you plebe.
Ill never get why mu thinks rock is an old genre that will die, like country music and jazz are older and they are still around.
It isnt that hard to just combine rock with witch house or vaporwave or chill wave and come up with something new
rock was way more mainstream than jazz though
>It isnt that hard to just combine rock with witch house or vaporwave or chill wave and come up with something new
Or to even come up with entirely new genres themselves. All it requires is to be forward-thinking.
thats how you come up with new genres, fusion
fuck, radiohed just appropriated IDM and fused it with rock and they are legends now.
iv been screaming 5ever if rock wants to be refreshed fuse with vaporwave or some other genre, but nooooo, everyone still wants to make fucking nirvana or shoegaze knock offs
metal will sound like liturgy, pop music will sound like autechre with vocals
>vaporrock
Tyranny is the closest thing we have to that.
