Red House Painters - Michael
The Sound - I Can't Escape Myself
The Replacements - If Only You Were Lonely
I only find music to be 'sad' if the lyrics are somewhat relatable or the music itself has a very sad feel but the latter is rare IMO. A lot of 'sad' songs are about breakups so those are never sad for me because obvious reasons
Sophia - ship in the sand
reddit: the post
The saddest AnCo song on SJ is Derek
Sufjan Stevens - Fourth of July
and also
24 is RHP's saddest song I think.

Jeff Rosenstock - I'm Serious, I'm Sorry
Especially the final verse
>Were you supposed to not go to college?
>Stay in your mom’s house on the computer
>Googling grief cures, talking to no one
>Waiting for life to start feeling better?
>Waiting for pain to not be a constant?
>Waiting to feel like anyone’s honest?
>Waiting for me to stop being sarcastic
>Because I can’t accept (because I can’t accept)
>BECAUSE I CAN'T ACCEPT ALL THE BAD THINGS THAT HAPPEN
saddest song i've ever heard no doubt
