Is war metal the most unabashedly alpha and masculine music ever made?
Yes.

I know for a fact that some babyfurs listen to Blasphemy.

Ok /metal/, I'm gonna be completely honest now. I know every one is tired of hearing about Terminal Redux, myself included, but I just want to say this.
Terminal Redux is legitimately decent. I wasn't a fan of Black Future nor Outer Isolation, so I dismissed Vektor as just another overhyped band. I still think they are overhyped as hell, but Terminal Redux was quite surprising.
There are weak moments, for sure. Charging The Void is one of the worst songs in the album and was a terrible choice for the opener. Collapse is overrated as fuck and is just a shitty ballad. The last track is pretentious crap too.
But there are some good thrashers like LCD, Ultimate Artificer and Pteropticon, which are IMO some of the best tracks they have ever recorded.
I know this might sound like I'm just trying to be neutral and sit on the fence, but I'm just being sincere. No, it's not the album of the decade, it's not a thrash metal masterpiece, Vektor are not the saviors of modern metal. But it has enjoyable moments, and is Vektor's best so far.
dumb furfags
>200x200
No, Sup Forums isn't the furfag board.

Guys, I have to draw an album cover for my local OSDM band's first studio release, and I need the right inspo.
Rec me some OSDM that has R I F F S and a somewhat dramatic or ominous vibe. Neither muddy nor squeaky-clean.
Any good songs that don't need a double bass pedal on drums? I can do heel-toe decently
You want to play yourself? Just try some Heavy Metal
You didn't receive any instructions? They gave you complete creative control?
The best fucking album cover.
I have very specific instructions I just need music to get myself going.
Sinister - cross the styx, immolation - dawn of possession, niggerdevil - poser disposer
Would be my excuse to draw a penis desu

Cold Night For Alligators here to save this shitty thread
holy fuck these are the worst vocals I've ever heard
So this is Djent with Deathcore vocals
nice.
incredible, worst djent I've heard so far
Upon first listen, my reaction was that of any man who has a modicum of taste, extreme disgust. Half-assed screams and pitchshifted growls, crossed with attempts of rapping that would make Vanilla Ice look like Gary Grice, and staccato breakdowns played in a fashion similar to rave music are an easy recipe for failure. It shouldn't be a surprise why people absolutely loathe this and, but upon further inspection, it hit me. Attila are the pinnacle of deathcore.
This right here is honesty, this is a band who is able to admit what deathcore is all about without holding anything back Deathcore has never been metal, and never has it been a genuine form of heavy music. At its core, deathcore has always been party music, obscured by the use of drop-tuned guitars, tunnel throat vocals, and double bass Whether it be the heavier stylings of Whitechapel or Waking The Cadaver, the more melodic attempts of Veil Of Maya and Conducting The Grave, the progressivisms of Born Of Osiris and After The Burial, deathcore has always been aggressive party music for suburban white children who grew up watching MTV and hanging outside malls. Breakdowns have always served the purpose of bass drops, aggressive sounds that are easy to dance your body to in a more chaotic manner Whereas clubs would feature people showing off their best moves on the floor, deathcore has appropriated that so teenagers could show off their best kicking motions in the pit. Eventually bands would add bass drops to their breakdowns anyway, further blurring the line between rave and core The more melodic At The Gates-style riffs have always been equivalent to easy-going techno beats, a little more distortion but they share an identity Tunnel throat vocals seem monstrous and scary, but are familiar enough to the sound of a DJ yelling out commands to not estrange potential fans.
There was never anything metal about deathcore, and its ties to hardcore were still shaky at best, deathcore has existed in its own sphere as re-envisioned rave music and scene kids were swaggots at heart. Nowadays the deathcore scene is more open about this, gone are the attempts at looking aggressive with tight-fitting tank tops and flexed muscles, shades and snapbacks are the accessories of choice and a more apt at representing their music. Lost are the attempts at trying to hang out with the metal crowd, now bands would much rather hang around night clubs and cover top 40 hits It's good to see that the genre has moved to accepting what it is and Attila were a band that truly helped make the final push towards it, yes Attila are garbage but they are completely sincere with themselves. When a core kid says they hate Attila it shows a sense of self-loathing, a hatred for what they really are and they'll keep playing Oceano and Ingested to drown out those thoughts. When a core kid says they love Attila, it's proof that they've accepted who they are and it's better that way. Love them, hate them, Attila were the best thing to happen to deathcore since its inception, and in a way, Attila finally pushing away the notion that deathcore has anything to do with metal is better for the metal scene as well. Deathcore will continue being music to go clubbing to on an angry night.
