it all comes down to personal preference from just toying with the daws really I have both ableton and fl and I prefer ableton when it comes to personalization and distortion but fl is definitely more accessible so if youre serious about starting music production then id start off with a chink loo torrent of fl

honestly all memes are wrong if you see post that says ableton>fl thats just a preference that person has and its not fact so for you fl could be your main daw and thats perfectly fine. metro boomin uses fl and hes one of the current best hiphop producers out there. what matters is the amount of effort and time you put into toying with whatever daw you use.

hey man cool music. i got a question, how did you learn all the technical aspects of producing music like mixing and mastering? right now im just playing around with synths and drums but my tracks sound so lifeless.

the thing about mixing is that theres no set guidelines or meta when it comes to master mixing like you could get a degree for that shit and every fucking sound engineer nerd will mix differently because again it really all comes down to personal preference and experience and what sounds right to you but I mean establish some personal rules for you I guess kick comes first in drums you want that shit to spark the most right depending on the type of music hi hats could be a bit lower again this is all mainly coming from the amount of effort and time you put into experimenting with daws

nigga i just used to watch anime all day and decided to torrent a fucking daw and actually spent my time working on that shit seriously put some fucking effort into it man. but thanks for the questions there actually really useful for anyone thats interested in starting so definitely continue to ask questions in this thread
