I sang My Chemical Romance songs at my schools talent show.

I was in a band in 5th grade. Piano, drums, vocals. We played Pork and Beans by Weezer at the talent show.

>play in dumb garage band at high school but have got a few gigs around the local area, basically a glorified excuse to score weed
>it comes up in conversation with music teacher
>"oh you guys should play your leaver's assembly we're missing a musical act"
>surewhynot.jpg
>decide to cover sublime's 5446/ball and chain by as our song. It'd be a cover of a cover but who'd notice?
>music teacher comes in while we're practicing
>"Oh hey guys do you think you could fit Tom and Sam into your song at all?"
>these guys play trumpet. Sam's cool but Tom is a massive cunt
>like, the most massively arrogant douche ever. Only into experimental jazz or some shit.
>fuck it sure we could work it out, song originally had trumpet in it anyway
>basically just add trumpet to bits of the song where it didn't seem too gratuitous so they're not standing around for half the song, nothing massively complex but we weren't expecting them anyway

>leaver's assembly comes up
>start playing the song
>a trumpet fill comes up that tom was doing comes up
>apparently deciding he was tired of playing second fiddle to us, he launches into some awful free jazz improvisation
>wtf is this shit
>we all just sort of stop playing
>miles Davis he is not

>walk over to our guitarist
>mutter to him "shall we play ace of spades or something?"
>he nods, we play Ace of spades, apologise to Sam afterwards because he did fuck all practically

>get accused of bullying tom the enxt day for reasons that still make no sense to me years later

fucking Tom, what a cunt

No, this isn't real, no.

I rapped the popular Kanye West song 'Stronger' for a school talent show

So you sounded like Simple Plan's newest single, except even worse?
youtube.com/watch?v=bSO6ikrxSqk

I used to judge people based on their taste in music

This is literally the worst

upload please

please do tell about how you were accused of bullying or some shit

At least they replaced their shit-tier singer with Jason Sudeikis.

I would pay currency to listen to this.

Ouch!

I only have the song in cassette form. Made the thread because I was going through my old tapes and I gave it a listen.

The sharpie track listing for this song may or may not say "Untitled (Urban War Crimes)"

wore a Sufjan Stevens t shirt in middle school (2009-2010)

you could still rip it
also to be fair, urban war chimes could be a decent song title, just probably not for whatever abomination you as a kid cooked up

>Be in 8th grade.
>friends and I decided to play "dammit" by blink at a school dance
>be on stage ready to play
>someone for some reason isn't ready
>group of other kids come up to stage
>"hey user let me see your guitar"
>before we know it we've been musically disarmed
>fucking assholes cover FOB "sugar were gonna shit on these guys"
>felt cucked but still played after them
>i was musically the best.. had 2 weeks of experience.

First gig ever. I make indie/punk/psych tunes now
soundcloud.com/kludgybrain/lost-in-space

performed at a brony convention

how should i kill myself?

What has got Simon Pegg so upset ?

i used to idolize queen

yes

why would you be embarassed by these? jesus its like you faggots were never kids

that's nothing to be ashamed of user

this is better than their old stuff so I mean

He just found out what they turned his Trek script into

youtu.be/XRVD32rnzOw

Oh god, queenfags are the worst type of music fans.

>be in 8th grade
>friend and i wanted to cover a Gorillaz song for school talent show
>choose Tomorrow Comes Today because 1) it has no rapping and 2) it was easy for me to remember
>friend is on drums, I'm just singing

>talent show day
>there's 4 shows total: one for pre-k to 2nd grade, one for 3rd-6th, 7th-8th, and finally one at night for the parents
I should note that any and all work missed that day had to be turned in the next day. It was a private school too. Fucking hated that place. Anyway.
>during the day, do the first 3 shows
>music teacher gathers all the students participating in the show for a quick meeting
>tells us that there's going to be a production company at the night show to record the final talent show and put it on DVD for the parents/students if they want a copy
>calls back my friend and me after
>"user and J, you guys were good but user sings too softly, so if it's ok we're going to boost up your voice for the recording in post-production."
>say sure
>night show happens, think nothing of it

>fast forward a few months
>show is on DVD finally, music teacher wants to share it with the class
>puts it in computer
>"WHEEEEEEN TOMOrrOoOoOWW, TOMORROW COoOoOoOmES TODAY!"
>every crack in my 8th grade voice is amplified by a fuckton
>people start pointing and laughing
>girl i had a crush on pointed at me and said "Haha! What a loser!"
>cried myself to sleep that night

And that's why I don't put effort into things anymore.

>And that's why I don't put effort into things anymore.
Well at least you learned something important.

I want to watch that but I just started a Cecil Taylor album and I don't really want to stop. Remind me to watch that when the album is over, OK ? Thanks.

you should be less ashamed of this and more ashamed of being on Sup Forums

I'm a senior in h.s. and I'm in choir, and I skipped my final exam (a preformance) so the choir teacher "asked" me if I could be a guest musician for this fundraiser thing (if I said no I would fail for the year, and I needed the class to graduate)

So I was paired with my sister (also in choir, but she was preforming voluntarily) and I played the guitar of Love Yourself by Justin Bieber for a bunch of old white people

This was very recent, and it was pretty gay

in high school i used to tell my friends that metal was the only real genre of music left and would say shit like "if u listen to metal it has a lot in common with classical music" and how "hip hop is not music because they are talking over electronic sounds, anybody could do that"

worst part is i actually converted all of my friends into thinking this way and they all got stuck like that. we graduated high school three years ago and they still post this sort of bullshit on facebook/instagram

lel

not cringe, there were probably tons of shy qts who liked you but didn't say anything

>"if u listen to metal it has a lot in common with classical music"
there was some lastfm fag who'd say this

there was one girl who talked to me about it but other than that i doubt many ppl cared about Sufjan in middle school

my comp sci teacher commended me for the quiet riot joke though

I listen to Venon

middle schoolers listening to sufjan? I was a special little exception but it's not half as common.

Are you my drummer?
I honestly don't see the appeal in metal.I respect all genres but when our drummer never wants to do a classic song even for the sake of practice we really want to kick him out. Did I mention our bassist is a massive muse fan?

I was singing some shitty Shins song at my school's open mic and I had to stop in the middle of the performance to ask the audience for the lyrics.

>joined a rock band camp in summer before 7th grade
>I played bass
>had to do a cover and write an original song with a counselor

Cover: Nickelback - "If Everyone Cared"
vocaroo.com/i/s10BSd3xAUNq

Original: "Since When"
vocaroo.com/i/s00eaLpGTosV

I'm on bass and do shouts on "Since When"

>tfw still disappointed we didn't cover a Linkin Park or RHCP song like I wanted.

Fun fact: I'm still really good friends with one of the members and we speak of this no more than once per year. I since went on to play drums on a band with people I actually like in high school and do Hip-Hop now.

>be me in elementary school
>play the cello at a basic level
>enter a talent contest with my local 4H chapter and win first place
>get to go to the state finals
>when we get to the building for the state finals it's locked and freezing cold outside
>cellos detune very easily, and in the fifteen minutes we were standing outside it gets completely fucked
>I don't know how to tune it properly and nobody else there does either
>end up playing ode to joy with the two higher strings literally tuned an octave or two lower than the two lower ones, and both at the same pitch (not to mention the lower two strings are detuned to fuck too)
>obviously don't place at all
not bad compared to most others here, but still shit

>vocaroo.com/i/s00eaLpGTosV
patrician af

>vocaroo.com/i/s00eaLpGTosV

>start a shitty "punk" band in hs with some friends
>mostly fuck around and learn some covers
>word gets around school and we get asked to play at an assembly
>only condition is we have to play "Back in Black" because it's our school's theme or some shit
>start playing BiB and before the verse comes in we transition into Blitzkrieg Bop
>side info: our singer was really Mexican, could barely speak English
>singer is blabbering gibberish that somewhat resembles a drunk Joey
>finish song and start playing Seek and Destroy because fuck it
>singers smashes a random acoustic he found in an alley
>get cutoff like a minute into SaD

>vocaroo.com/i/s00eaLpGTosV
HOLY FUCK IM DYING

I really needed that, thank you user

This sounds like a win to me.

All I am hearing is a Shaggs cover band.

>it's like you faggots are still kids
ftfy

Kek. Tom sounds like a true patrish legend

>girl i had a crush on pointed at me and said "Haha! What a loser!"
homeschooled as a kid, were kids actually that blatantly mean?

>be 2nd year in college
>no friends
>meet qt korean girl
>she's into me
>see her handing out flyers for acapella group
>join acapella group
>acapella meet comes up
>learn that my group is the worst in the whole uni
>got a haircut before, shave sides off, acapella group people say i look like kim jong un
>every group performs flawlessly
>sing my solo, voice cracks and wails on high note
>leave acapella group without saying goodbye to anyone

smooth as eggs :^)

>Audition as singer for punk band
>secretly want to play guitar (can't sing)
>when i arrive, i talk influence with band, whenever they start up on a song i find an excuse to not get up and sing. Just hum along.
>guitarist does some warm up arpeggios to Heroin
>break out my guitar and start jamming with him, gradually pushing him to up the volume.
>Band joins in, i keep pushing them to get Louder, faster, noisier
>I hit my distortion and do a pretty sincere VU style noise solo. Just deafening Feedback and freaking the fuck out, hair flailing and beads of sweat flying.
>notice that the band stopped playing.
>look up at them, breathing hard, feeling great
>guitarist says to go home.

never noise jam before the 3rd date guys.
And probably play the instrument you're auditioning to play.

At a local school orchestra competition I accidentally let out a cracking fart in that moment of silence before we launched into marriage of figaro. Reduced the entire cello section to a fit of giggles and none of us could play for shit. We still came third, teach was livid though.

this makes me sad :(

cool af

>girl i had a crush on pointed at me and said "Haha! What a loser!"
this is a lie, why would you lie about this?

>vocaroo.com/i/s00eaLpGTosV

Based

Tom's a real human bean

holy fucking shit

in 1st grade me and a friend danced in a talent show to the song men in black by will smith

gg

>vocaroo.com/i/s00eaLpGTosV
This is actually fucking awesome, no lie. For fans of Kenneth Higney, honestly. And anyone who likes this should listen to Attic Demonstration

>I sang Eat It by Weird Al at my primary school talent show

>when he properly says how could you do this to me and the groove goes right back on track
>how it wasn't really working oouuuut

archive this

>"Haha! What a loser!"
No one actually says that unironically, memelord

Why are these recorded and mixed so well?

Were there girls there?
Did you get laid?

youtube.com/watch?v=hpsbj0OoeNo

Is this you?

Did you get paid?

Pork and Beans is a great song and weezer is talent show-core

Dont be ashamed

I'd have been your friend

>Pork and Beans is a great song
go to bed rivers

>tell qt I play guitar at my place
>pull out guitar
> what do you want me to play?
>sarcastically say wonder wall
>qt laughs
>play an fantastic cover of winter's love by animal collective
>look at qt
>wtf that's not wonder wall
> never talk again

>never noise jam before the 3rd date guys
loled

What genre do you play at a brony convention?

Tom was a true patrician amongst the plebes

I played stairway at a talent show in elementary school.
I skipped the solo by playing the rhythm
What is it with Muse fans

>be me
>preparing with a makeshift band (we were the only "band" there) to play Someday by the Strokes onstage at a talent show
>apart from the guitar tones being a little too rough, we were actually pretty tight
>got bored of rehearsing, so we started to play this funny, noisy jam, with a really punk riff, inspired by an episode of the British television show "Black Mirror" where the Prime Minister has sex with a pig on TV
>the song was driven by the refrain -
"HE FUCKED, A PIG IN THE ASSHOLE, OINK, OINK"
>Anyway, we were playing this pretty loud, assuming nobody could hear us in our practice room at the back/side of the stage where some dance performances were going on
>we were wrong

>My fucking face when a member of staff walked in and told us "everyone can hear you, could you keep it down".

We walked out on that stage with some disgusted looks.

Not gonna lie I'd form a band with Tom

I performed Lou Bega's Mambo No 5 in front of the whole class and their parents in elementary school.

ahahahahaha

...

This is a project that I was..."involved" in during middle school & high school

yardofshortbread.bandcamp.com/album/the-more-epic-record

you're too good for them user

I used to base my music taste on Sup Forums core and thought other people were plebs

Based Tom

what song?

no

>Getting bad grades in High School
>They tell me I should consider doing a Certificate Course rather than graduate
>Do a course in sound production
>we had to 'produce a single'
>3 other guys doing it; we all listen to and play different styles of music
>I played guitar and liked metal, one guy was a rapper, the drummer played punk, and the bassist funk
>Drummer and I work something out, tell the rapper to scream and the bassist to come up with a name
>Hilarity ensues
I can only find a rehearsal session and not the final production.

So here is 'Penetration Station' by Pop Asia

soundcloud.com/clogsjam/penetration-station

also no thats not me, thats the rapper

Joined my cousin's Celt metal band and performed for a white supremacist conference after-party.

Still have the recording and it hurts so much.

holy fuck user

POST POSTPO PSOT POSTOPOSOTPO POSTOPOSPTO PSOT

you fuckin killed it. shoulda kept jammin unplugged.

>be me
>hs
>start a new wave/devo/oingo boing inspired band
>I don't know how but me and my brother were able to find the other two 16yo kids who loved that stuff
>suddenly the drummer gets sick
>the regretful part - we kick him out
>replaced by some idiot with GnR as main influence
>decided to play in our school in between lessons
>Games Without Frontiers
>drummer is buttfrustrated and destroys our equipment
>apparently he was schizophrenic
>never played music again

A few. I didn't get laid. One girl flipped out over a slice of pizza though.

I didn't get paid. I don't think any of the musicians did. It was more about getting to show the degenerate attendees our music. Either way, when I got there I found out I only got a 3 song set and I was on super early in the morning.

It was an acoustic set. All sort of midway acoustic rock ish songs.
