I can't pull examples of the top of my head it's almost every song, but I always thought they would have made an amazing instrumental band or if they just had more sparse lyrics that were mixed out, just let the music do it more.
I like thurston too, I just think he goofs up songs a lot. Like when pavement has a killer riff and then some goofy lyric brings you out of it. I mean that was the style then I guess, but still.
