double kek

RYM is good for finding new music now they have their genre charts to filter their lists. You can get an instant top ten list of any genre from their site.

waiting for the triple kek, im french, go ahead

>is french
triple kek

thank you

>r/truemusic
there is fake music????

That's a good start, but RYM (and the Internet in general tend to be very elitist about what's the absolute best of the best, and it won't help you form your own taste in music; but rather replicate others.

Use various sources, Spotifys discover option, last fm, youtube or even Sup Forums at times.
The absolute best place would be record stores and social hangouts for musicians.
I don't delve in that shit anymore but still.

Hope this helps anyone.

I don't agree with this. RYM's new genre filter means you can start with an RYM-circlejerked album, and if you like it, go into the genre's individual list, and check out all of them, all the ones considered similar by genre.

If your goal is to "not replicate other tastes", and desu I don't see why that'd be your goal like who cares? But if that is your goal, well then purposely check out some albums on RYM similar to the circlejerked one with average/bad ratings and see if you like them.

I agree with the other things you said though, regarding spotify discover and record stores.

lurk in the sharethread OP sometimes they post good music there

Well tahnk you guys, will keep that in mind.

Good point and thank you, I think I was mostly thinking about the convenience of knowing your local bands.
It's a win win because they get recognition and you get a cheap/ close by concerts.

Let's not pretend that this is not about cirkle jerking over Radiohead though, I jizz on them sometimes too.

Go to Reddit you fuck
