I am performing an experiment of sorts. A thread exists on two boards now (Sup Forums is the third) pertaining to the Moon landing and photos that exist of it. The other threads are on Sup Forums and /sci/, and I figured this would be the best third option for the subject matter.
Do you guys believe the Moon landing was real or faked? What evidence do you use to support your claim?
Bonus points: Assuming it was real, do you think we will return to the Moon any time in the near future?
I tend to believe it's real but I can certainly see why there's scepticism.
There's no reason to go back now that the space race is over. There's more money to be made and more to learn from nearby asteroids

You really want the opinion of little children?

I think it's real cause buzz aldrin knocked that dude out It'd be cool if was fake tho, better conspiracy than 9/11

>(Sup Forums is the third) You chose, poorly.
Jose Ross
The moon landing didn't happen because the U.S. lost the space race :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Kayden Long
I believe it really happened
John Scott
They lost all the relevant parts of it anyway
Brandon Clark
If it is faked, then I just need to ask why? What would anyone win on spending huge ammounts of money on faking something that was perfecly doable?
Cooper Flores
/sci/ is arrogant Sup Forums is a toothless animal since moot gimped it years ago. Why not /x/? They're not what they were but they love this shit.

I agree with Post this on /x/ and leave us to our memes.

1 I believe it is real. 2 Hence belief because I don't have the evidence but the proposition is strong. No direct evidence at least, since the only real one is to either be one of the astronauts or the people present at the sites.
Basically the argument for it to have happened is much more stronger than if it didn't and because the argument for it didn't happen to question some things we take for granted then it is even less likely. For instance to follow the denialist thinking if you didn't experience any incidence as a first person then everything else could have been manufactured. To rely on this kind of reduction means the support is too overwhelming.
Other countries yes USA no

>twelve Soviet attempts were made at a Venus probe before Venera 4 finally succeeded >it took only two US attempts to succeed

In all honesty I believe it was faked. We never went to the moon, but eventually we will get there.
In some of the photos when inspected they have been adulterated. The American flag theory hasn't been debunked.

If I were in a cold war where technological achievement was critical to the morale of my country, I'd make damned sure a promised lunar landing was a success. I believe we did go to the moon but the initial sequence was staged. The consequences of a failure would have been catastrophic. I don't believe it failed but we were only ever going to witness the good ending, first attempt. Fucking sneaky Kubrick.
James Diaz
Seems that technological progress is slowing...Makes no sense how you could go to the moon in the 60s but can't do it now
Caleb Wilson
Anybody can go to the moon. No country wants to do it because what are they actually going to do?? Nobody can feasibly build a moon-base but maybe one day.
Benjamin Edwards
With a powerful telescope you can see where they landed, and all the shit they left on the moon.
Jeremiah Hughes
Do you not know how much of the technology we use today was made possible by the race to the Moon?
Caleb Gomez
>Do you guys believe the Moon landing was real or faked?
Fake.
>What evidence do you use to support your claim?
Americans are too fat to leave the surface of the Earth.

hello fbi.
>Do you guys believe the Moon landing was real or faked? landing was real, but footage was fake.
>What evidence do you use to support your claim? I used to have a huge archive about it in my old PC, but haven't got anything in this one.
Also, this vid is the only legit UFO archive in youtube.
>tfw channel owner(nasa historian) is officially missing for 4 years
>Do you guys believe the Moon landing was real or faked? real >why theres no point in lying about it really. aside from cold war rivalries but the sovites said that the americans beat them there. >do you think we will return to the Moon any time in the near future? i remember a scientist on the news getting shitty that obama decided to perform a mission to the moon again instead of mars so i guess so.

It's real, I cannot posibly understand how there's even skeptics. Transmisions were tracked, astronomers followed the mission, academia scrutinized the event and its findings, the sheer amount of reputable persons involved is overwhelming, Soviet intelligence would have figured out and exposed any fraud, the lunar laser ranging retroreflector array (aka a fancy mirror) was placed on the moon and continues to be used.
The amount of evidence is overwhelming and only the tinfoil crowd could posibly have any doubts. Fuck me I actually miss the days when conspiracy nuts were ridiculed as fringe and not just another type of snowflake entitled to have their dumb fuck opinions respected.
But hey, jet fuel can't melt steel beams.
Luis Ortiz
>jet fuel can't melt steel beams. they aren't wrong though
Andrew Gomez
>believe
It's not a question of belief when we're talking about facts. There is just an outstanding amount of evidences, from all the researches NASA did, the rockets built and all the tech with it, the rocks they brought back. You can even see the footprints from earth using a telescope for god's sake.
Denying the moon landing was soviet propaganda, they even recognized it after the collapse of the union yet retards still eat it.
>do you think we will return to the Moon any time in the near future?
It seems to be useless from an economic perspective, however China has plans to it's quite likely
