ECCO UNLIMITED - NHK Reminds You to Boost Your Signal [2012] >vaporwave, ambient
Eerie, slow, droning vaporwave. Almost demented in how it takes a single piece of information and revolves around it for the track's duration, plays with it and even when you think it's enough he goes a little further. Of the three tracks, each less than 10 minutes, the second is excruciatingly passionate and strangely beautiful; makes me wish for more piano centered vaporwave. The first is an anxious and cluttered repetition of what I imagine being a sea creature calling for somebody (or maybe I've just played too much ecco). The third is somewhat a letdown because of the introduction of a goofy voice sample, I would've prefereed it much more if he made this completely ermetic and with no human interaction, it breaks the atmosphere in my opinion. All over the 24 minutes of this record there are various intentional glitches of for example the right ear channel stopping or the left one getting messed up, which is great and grants immersion. Surprised by how this wasn't released as a tape honestly. In my experience it's better than most of the non-OPN vaporwave I've listened to.

the bats and advantage lucy are sweet made up in blue is a top song
Austin Gutierrez
cool to know, i'm very excited about those :3
Tyler Howard
Their discography starts off great, and steadily declines with each release
Jace Murphy
>Teens of Denial shipped guess Bull Moose didn't get the memo that they were supposed to give those back. i stayed away from the leak, so should the record be my first listen or do i not open it and try and resell it for mega-dosh?
Oliver Howard
Oh shit, people will be paying top dollars for that I'm super jealous now
Blake Davis
I wouldn't sell it tho Keeping rarities is more fun
Samuel Murphy
Just started listening to this and he fucking introduces the album for more than a minute before the first track, thanking the listener for buying the album and if they like it, they should buy the next one. I'm not sure how to react to this.
Ooh, totally save it. There's no serious difference between a record and an audio file.
Ethan Murphy
hey! i love that record! glad you can enjoy it even not as much of the fan of the genre!
Tyler Nguyen
didn't realize how many exclamation points i used! !!!!!
Jaxson Price
this is so much better than sticky fingers and i don't even know why, they both sound similar, but this is so much more enjoyable. i think it's because they kinda embrace the filthy blues rock here, and don't try to pepper in some ballads and break up the flow.
Nathan Butler
What is the purpose of these threads? It looks like nothing but dickwaving and substituting popular entertainment for social contact and an identity
Luke Butler

Yeah kind of true. But what most people don't realize is that Because of this idemtities actually end up discussing more music than we normally would and actually find music We otherwise wouldn't. There's also all kinds of games and tournaments, which makes this Really fun
Ayden Lee
wrong its been essential avant-core for as long as i could think of
making friends with similar interests and sense of humor /Sup Forumssoc// - if this wasnt a blue board we would be literally dickwaving there is nothing wrong with any of this, btw

Because on this thread, unlike the rest of the board it doesn't exist the following things: - dick measurement("i'm more patrician than you", "oh look at my curve on rym") - love for academics - sacruffi circle jerk - p4k " " - fantano " " - aggressive people
People are nice, helpful, kind.

Did ya'll have strokes or something? Am I having a stroke? None of these responses are in even vaguely grammatically correct English.
Caleb Nelson
>Will.I.Am - Willpower This album's closing track was like an electroswing version of the Super Mario soundtrack. One of the tracks features a children's choir or like one kid looped over themself a bunch of times or something. There is actually a Will.I.Am ft. Justin Bieber track. As if it wasn't cliche and ridiculous enough, the chord progression from Pachelbel's Canon is ripped off for one of the songs.
I can't believe something like this can exist without being a parody. I am having a serious existential crisis thinking about this album. Is this actually something the human condition can produce, or did I just get Monk'd by Will & friends? This actually sounds like the "Worst Possible Song" that those guys made a while ago out of a survey of people's least favorite things in music. All this album needs is a Christmas song and it would be complete.
Can someone actually intentionally write lyrics this bad?
Why is Will's head made of Pac Man?
I'm sad. This album made me sad. It made me laugh out loud at times, but I'm still sad.
There was this moment in the last track where Will does this thing where he puts like his own responses to the lyrics and the way he says this shit is like the funniest thing I've heard on an album in a long time like...
also keep listening to hear Will.I.Am attempt to scat.
I actually can't believe this exists.
Existential Crisis/10.
Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven up next.
Brody Parker
after that review, now i need to listen to it!
Carter Robinson
yes but also it kinda makes sense if you read into those posts if you cared to pay attention that is, got me, you can sometimes get more through like that
Ryder Bell
did that album make you more likely or less likely to commit suicide?
Josiah Thomas
Less, actually. Gave me new purpose: figuring out how something like this could happen.
Anthony Wood
That's what I figured. Like, no matter what you go into in life, you'll never be as bad at it as he is at music.
Aiden Bell
Is it kosher to RYM 0.5 this bitch after 1:18 of that Bang Bang song?
Christopher Rodriguez
you can RYM 0.5 any album without listening to it if you think about it
Hudson Campbell
Bang Bang is like one of the best songs on the album
seriously
Jordan Ortiz
me I don't even think about it "haha"
Eli Reyes
My fav part is the scat singing bar at 3:43 really harnessing his black roots with that one
Goddammit I kinda want to listen to this album now damn you to hell torts
i would love to put a demo on band camp and title it (myband).bandcamp.com, or something like that or embrace ephemerality by linking a thread on Sup Forums or whatever

I'm doing good, listening to Mingus' Ah Um. Thanks to the Ayy Torts Um meme for reminding me what a damn monolith of an album this is.
Robert Clark
Been re-listening to these boys for nostalgia purposes and I regret every second but some of their tracks still hold up imo.
But Jesus Christ. Why does this sound like the Stooges on Disney Channel. Just stop, guys.

The motto. Would make another great "Edition" Header of /daily/
I think they'll reissue it soon, so don't get one just yet.
Very good. Their most popular for a good reason. I like the way it's used in Life Aquatic especially.
Frick yes
Jackson Perez
i didn't know you could have such big powergaps with a discography that peaks at 3/10. also he watches the films of wes anderson, if that's still a meme
Landon Morris
Haven't done a tip update in a while, so I'll let you guys know I made $54.78 tonight :3
I've also been listening to Free For All and pic related a lot recently. This dude's voice and the keyboard styles remind me a lot of George Duke and I love it.
I'd say they peaked at a 5 or 6, but that's purely from me discovering them when I was an angsty 13 year-old so more realistically a 4 probably.
And I don't love all his movies, there's just something I adore about Life Aquatic. I have shit taste in movies though I mean look at my RYM. I lost one of my friends when he found my RYM b/c of my movie section actually :/
does anyone else see the swastika in this album art or is it just me
Carter Martinez
My favourite part about Green Day is you can tell exactly how bad the album is based on the cover
Pic related is their best release tho
Angel Ortiz
I should give it a relisten sometime too oh shit I keep forgetting to listen to Free For All
will do later
Matthew Gomez
angsty 13 year-olds are the best ppl so realistically the realistic score should go up up UP! but iunno i only like jeusus oof suburbia
Jonathan White
I would pet the FUCK out of that dog yo.
And do you really got Green Day on vinyl? Shit. Anything else by them?
This art is fucking amazing but it's just so mediocre idk. I enjoy Going to Pasalacqua still but still eh.
Jesus of Suburbia is probably one of their best next to F.O.D and Haushinka. Homecoming is almost as good imo.
I'm sad I know so much about these guys :////
