I read this review of a band called Alarmist that apparently makes spastic noise punk in the vein of melt banana but i havent had a chance to listen to the album yet
Sciflyer and Should are cozy
Try Wussy - Forever Sounds and Empress - Empress
If you like Third Ear Band try Aktuala

actually Orchid Kid showed me them the other day
It was pretty great; do you know anything like them?
Also try Festival of Dead Deer maybe
they immediately draw comparisons to envy and heaven in her arms in how densely they layer post-rock onto their songs, but i can't think of any bands that make such heavy use of sprawling spoken-word samples as does killie. men as trees and i create are fairly similar as far as the actual music goes, though
Thanks for the suggestions man
This might be weird but I feel like this style would work so much better if the production was super lo fi and blown out. The intensity of the performances just feels a bit odd to me with the squeaky clean production.
you probably already know it but The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle
sorry to butt in on the conversation but you've hit exactly on why I can't stand listening to killie much even if I think they're pretty close to great

I don't think I listen to enough music to have a 5x5, but I like Sheena Ringo.
