Sell me on it.
>t. currently on opensuse with KDE plasma which completely broke after the last update

Already have arch installed.

Pointless downstream distribution that only retards use.

It just felt like a shittier version of Arch last time I tried it.
this

Are you too shit to install Arch? Takes 15 minutes.

Portage is even better

I installed Manjaro on my ThinkPad and fucking hated it.

>Closing the laptop lid caused some retarded screen issue, managed to fix it
>Installed the most recent (((proprietary))) GPU driver, somehow installing catalyst fucked Whisker menu, and it lost my config
>Graphics performance somehow managed to be worse
>Uninstall and reinstall free drivers
>Things seemed ok
>Few days later random crash while Pacman -Syu
>Have to hard reset as nothing is doing anything
>Whoops looks like it somehow managed to corrupt lightDM and I have a cli only system now
>Use LiveUSB to recover light DM, recovery and repair seems to go well reboot
>Whoops looks like grub is now fucked and how have no OS on your system

And that's when I reinstalled Xubuntu.

Fuck Manjaro. If you're going to make a "just wurks" distro, make it actually work

What does Manjaro mean?

Probably something in nigger, like Ubuntu.

Its bloated and impossible to rice, packages are late, it simply defeat the purpose of arch.

Because it’s a piece of shit. It automatically changed my home page to Manjaro.org and added two other bookmarks without my permission.

They also tell people to just change their system clock to bypass them being too lazy to update SSL certificates.

Just tried the KDE version on a very fast USB drive. I use Arch daily on my X230 Chinkpad, but holy shit, I didn't know you could make an Arch system so slow.

i do.

So true. I did a few tweaks to a GNOME install. Completely fucked it. They want you to just use everything the way they set it up. Defeats the whole purpose of Arch and Linux.

no

bcos its not debian based

Because arch and arch-like systems normally breaks, just a matter of time. Not only breaks, it's a good home for bugs. Bleeding edge is fun, but too costly. There is a good reason why big companies such as Google and NASA use Debian. Stability is everything. That's from a professional perspective. If it's for basic home usage and playing around, Manjaro and Arch is quite good.

Manjaro is shit.
Antergos is for people who want to do something else with their time other than fix their arch install

It's just Arch with Manjaro branding. I don't like branding on my stuff, I prefer my own colors and themes and whatnot.

Because i use archlabs

>the arch is unstable meme
Yeah I used to be retarded too, but then I used it, and it was fine, and then I kept using it for like a year with zero issues. 9/10 instances of people complaining about Arch being "unstable" are just retards fucking with their system and messing something up.

Installing Arch is fun. Not quite as fun as installing Gentoo, but it's pretty nice.

because it's a piece of shit

i tried the community version of i3 and it has terrible kernel version and so much bloated shit

i do and it works fine. kde version. and desu, i would use any loonix. it just happen to be manjaro.

>stolen logo
>lots of bloat
>not any easier to use than antergos

sure, if you like erasing custom configs every time you install something

>this specific downstream distro of a really nice distro is awful
>let me switch to an even more bloated piece of shit instead of exploring my options

that's a fresh install, faggot
you haven't used it enough to see what it's like

google mains openSUSE
try i3-gaps or awesome

because it tries to be arch for beginners which is a bad idea in itself. it attracts people who have no idea what they do and then complain when everything breaks. arch keeps them out because of its install hurdle

I don't think I will go as far as saying Arch is unstable, but bleeding edge comes with a price. That's very commonly known. Normally lower stability and reliability. It seems, however, Arch works just fine for some people and that's great for them.

You right i'm planning install devuan on my real machine it's the only distro that works great for me, and it's pretty easy, unlike void which is great, but repos are too small. and yeah without systemd distro are very fast, but there's not that much, user friendly non-systemd distros.
Pic related all my distros.

Short for Mount Kilimanjaro. I have no idea how the flag logo is related to the name, except that it happens to make an M.

>install Manjaro XFCE
>first reboot
>XFCE froze upon login
>retry
>install Manjaro KDE
>first reboot
>wifi now doesn't work anymore
>retry
>boot up Windows 7 installed in back 2010
>everything works as usual

Is manjaro or linux the joke here?

Also I forgot
>tell Manjaro to use non-free software
>installer crashes

Try Debian nonfree ISO. If that doesn't work your PC is totally incompatible with Linux and there's not much that can be done about it. I use it with Cinnamon with no issues, but I don't know about KDE.

What he said.

PICNIC

shittier Antergos

Updates broke it too often.

lmao it really is, wow

>automatic installer
>""""user friendliness and accessibility""""
>somewhat my fault
You're right, I did a mistake by downloading Manjaro. Good to know that the arch memes aren't that far off from reality

HP G62 laptop, nothing esoteric

Meant for

because i like gnome and manjaro gnome sucks

I'm using it

Because I wasn't molested as a kid

Because I know how to use Arch.

because there is no point to manjaro, when an arch install scrip, and anarchy works.

it's manjaro 100%
just use xubuntu

install gentoo
>recommending a terrible distro as a replacement for a slightly more terrible distro

It has dpkg

just get parabola with openrc

try to unistall any of the programs installed by default and then try to say again that shit. Every program is a dependence of a metapackage. If you force the removal of the meta package and one day you decide to uninstall the orphans, the entire system will be fucked up. Please install manjaro and fuck off.
