Just look at all these baka questions.
I am definitely the smartest out of all these bakas!

Should i buy a Zotac/Gigabyte GTX 1070 or wait for 1100/2000 series?

I have 100/10 internet connection and even 720p movies from my file server lag when I watch them via VPN.
I use openvpn server and client. The movies have ~4-6mbps video and 1,5mbps audio, so in theory 10mbps upload should be enough, right?

What do? Should I turn down the encryption?

Can you wait or do you want to play games now? People here will always tell you to wait because there's always new shit coming out that supposedly plummets the price of current shit, but that's hardly ever the case.

I have a wired internet connection and I'm not complaining about the speed because it's fast enough, but I'm thinking it could be faster. It's wired with an ethernet cable that I got about 10-12 years ago. If I bought one of the newer cables, the cat 5 or cat 6 ones, would I see much of a difference? My other issue is that the cable is fucking massive, and any that I buy as a replacement would have to be at least 40 foot long. Is this price difference going to be huge compared to a small one or is the price negligible?

Is there any modern tablet equiavlent to the Nexus 7? I'd like a small (~8 inches) tablet so I do work either traveling or out of the house without having to lug my 15 inch laptop around. It seems to me that the tablet market has completely shit the bed since 2013, especially with Android, so I haven't a clue if there's any high quality products out there anymore in this market.

What is pic related? I'm too afraid to search.

Sounds like the (((#PizzaPosse))) have had their search engine exposed desu senpai baka

I've got headphones & speakers, but can't have them both plugged in for whatever reason, or it'll all come out as static.
Are there any devices that I can plug in to allow both to be switchable? Would a KVM work for it?

imgsrc is kiddie porn. the others probably are too.

for clarification, and to make sure nobody makes the same mistake, the reason i know this is from yandex image search.

> img is cp
fuck off

i said the others probably are, as in i dont know whether or not they are. I stumbled on imagesrc shit on accident, so its not like i know.

Honeypot my dude

So this device lets you use Dualshock Controllers with the Switch. What I want to know is if you can also use the headphone jack on the DS4 to listen to sound from the Switch.

How fucked am I for loading those thumbnails? I didn't click anything.

We're already on our way.
Have the kettle going so we can make ourselves some teas when we arrive.

I'm new to *nix, and dual-booting OSs. I recently installed Kubuntu on a D:/ drive partition (I have 2 HDD / 1 SSD), and I've always had Windows 8.1/10 on C:/
My question is: Using ubuntu, can I access files that I stored on my disks while in was Windows 10, without damaging them by opening them?

Asking cause I was looking at my porn folder from Kubuntu, and next time I booted up W10 it automatically did a Disk Repair before letting me log in

Anybody use the Windows Mail app? Every once in a while it will be unable to sync some accounts, normally running Windows update fixes it for me but not this time. I've already tried removing and readding all accounts, deleting and reinstalling the app but still no luck. The support on the official Microsoft website is no help as usual

anyone plz

>Google Chrome’s built-in ad blocker will go live on February 15th
Did this akchually happened? What about the iOS version?

So I started with assembly recently and apparently even when I compile my c program via gcc with the -m64 flag set I end up in 32 bit address space, using both 32 and 64 mnemonics...
Anyone know why this is happening?
Is that a quirk of radare2 maybe?

In last thread I learned about compute stick and I'm thinking about pros and cons as I'm thinking to buy it for parents.
On first glance it looks a perfect tool to extend the longevity for any television w/ HDMI and USB.

Background:
- There is a TV in saloon, which is used by parents. They only know how to use Windows and don't want to have a mess around it.
- They are actually quite savvy to work with office tools and know how to deal with mpc-hc and use subtitles.
- They are quite good w/ smartphones and tablets.

Use cases:
- Watch movies from services like netflix / hbo go and youtube.
- Run movie locally (mpv, mpc-hc, whatever goes)
- Would be nice to do some basic office like stuff.
- (planning) DLNA, but after I figure support with fucking subtitles

NOTE:
- The intel stick is affordable stuff (the cheaper models) and they are cheaper than your average memepad t430.
- With current knowledge I'm about to choose

As far I see there are 3 options w/ its pros and cons:

Android TV/box:
- A box with external power supply
- Depends on model, but it might some chinkshit so the use cases might not suffice.
++ Fukken cheap.

Chromecast:
+ Still cheap.
+/- Network services like netflix / hbo go should work fine.
- Not sure playing just movies which I have locally.

Intel stick
-- Relatively expensive
++ It has fucking x86 on board.
+ Operating system, so technically it is a sandbox.

Don't know about other brand of sticks like Lenovo.

Viewing CP accidentally isn't criminalized in civilized countries. Dunno about police states like China where the government spies their citizens.

of for fuck sake
faggot op links to fucking sticky that is sticky already
then sends people to linux that shows like 15 threads

then shills duck

and only useful thing I needed, the previous thread is missing

shit your shit together and stop trying that hard shilling

How don't you know the exact length senpai?

assuming your are writing script
could you not just get the length in to variable and then use that?

I do, it's just that I have a folder of several audio files and I want to be able to run a script on a loop to trim the same amount off of the end of all of them.

How do I get into cybersecurity?
Any book recommendations?

i told you what it was, and you still searched? youre a retard first off. second, assuming you're American, the goons wont get after you unless you are producing, distibuting, downloading hundreds of gigabytes worth or if your opsec is compromised (they get a tip, or you slip onto their radar while they investigate someone else, or local law enforcement is suspicious, or shit like that). Yeah theyll have a record of it, but they arent going to hold anything against you unless its to compliment a bigger related charge. Reason being they dont want to waste resources on retards like you when they could be focusing on those producing and distributing, and by going after you based on evidence gathered through surveillance they basically confirm they spy on everyone and wont waste that on some nobody.

obviously you should still not be seeking out cp on the regular, but you most likely wont get in trouble if you just leave it at satusfying your curiousity once and nothing more.

had to set up win 10 new. Now i cant install the drivers for my r9 270x 2g. Whenever i try to install them my pc crashes and the screen keeps staying black. Tried a new motherboard, deleting drivers with ddu in safe mode, same issue. I wouldnt be suprised if the gpu is dead because i had red/green lines but that was half a year ago. Since then it worked without problems. So my main question is is my gpu dead although windows runs (not very fast though) without the drivers ?

What's the easiest way to sync a folder between two computers? I have arch on my laptop and arch on my desktop, and I would like to sync my wallpapers folder between the two of them. The directory for the wallpapers is /usr/share/wallpapers.

i thought of that, but ffmpeg doesn't give as precise a number as I would like. I want to trim a specific number of milliseconds from the end of each file. A file the duration of which ffmpeg tells me is 00:09:04.78, Audacity tells me is 00:09:04.810. I don't know why they're a different number, but ffmpeg always gives me a two digit number at the end. If there were some command line program that gave me a duration consistent with Audacity I'd do what you said

I have a question,

I recently took delivery of my new Dell, which came with the 32bit version of Windows 7, however the PC is capable of running at 64bit.

If I install Windows 7 32bit twice would that make it 64bit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is Tree Style Tab broken for anybody else? If I open a tab as a child tab, then open some more, visually the first tab will appear at the bottom of that group but it behaves like it is at the top.

If I open child tabs under it they appear under the first tab in the list and not the last one.

This is using firefox nightly and tst dev builds, but it was broken with the release version of tst too (as of today at least).

Fucking hell you autistic niggers.

im gonna keep posting it like this just to trigger opinionated snowflakes like you :^)

Hello, how to view markdown (.md) files on linux? I tried opening in a browser, but it doesn't work.

Which one should I use for overclocking: NVIDIA Inspector or MSI Afterburner?

As far I've checked there is a huge problem regarding overheating, leading to CPU drop and losing wifi connection.

Anyone got any experience with those at all?

git gedit

I thought it was obvious, but it appears to be not so obvious. I want to view them locally, without uploading on the github etc.

I feel like people are seeing my posts in the past few /sqt/s and ignoring them because they think it's copypasta or something, but does anyone know how to clear the "Recent Programs" list in the Nvidia Control Panel? I played some porn games, and now they're listed in it, and my computer becomes pretty public-use via a Steam Link when friends are over, and all of them are savvy enough to know to use NvCP.

forums.geforce.com/default/topic/992283/how-to-delete-games-from-nvidia-control-panel-/
Something like this what you mean?

>yiffalicious

git god you fokken baka.
I meant get Gee Edit

Is MS Toolkit safe to use?

nano

gedit was abandonware last i checked

Are you an idiot? Tell me honestly. Actually, you know what? Don't tell anything, don't say a word.
The question still stands. And to clarify and to avoid further misunderstanding:
-I want to know how to view markdown (.md) files locally, without uploading it anywhere. View the compiled version, not the source code.
-I don't want to know the way to edit markdown files.
-What I tried it is to open .md file in firefox browser. I was suspecting it wouldn't work, it didn't.

>gedit was abandonware last i checked
no you

wow rude.
suck my cock dude and stop opening text files using a browser

Please tell me someone has already forked this

This cannot be fucking true

I was downloading something from there less than 2 hrs ago and now this pops up all of a sudden

>always liked technology

background:
>know the basics of programming
>a tiny bit of java, tiny bit of C, tiny bit of C#

start with python and then C, good idea, bad idea?

IWatchonline is basically broken aswell and has huge uptime issues, also it's not an aggregator as such and a lot more static in nature/just a link repository

I cannot use p2p where i live and have to risk heavy fines (we're talking upwards of 1k) if i do so i'm absofuckinglutely reliant on streaming when it comes to this... Unfortunately all the local warez sites i know of are down too.

God i really hope someone creates a fork of this shit ASAP... This is real fucking bad and unexpected

Go full with C langs.
C# will teach you Java (though you will miss lots of features and hate lots ofthings about java).
Using C# to interop with code you wrote using C/C++ will help you get knowledge and benefits of both worlds.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Redpill this noob on linux distros. today I installed babby's first linux distro (ubuntu), slapped xfce on it and subsequently found out about a distro called xubuntu. Why does it exist? What's the difference between ubuntu wearing xfce and xubuntu?

I'm trying to install Windows 10 Enterprise on my laptop that came with home, but every time I attempt to install it it says that the boot device failed.

Should I use different burning software or a different usb? I only have one on me at the moment and wanted to do it today. Used unetbootin and rufus so far.

:^)

yeah, my doubt was if I should start with C. If I was to start with Python, I would read the "Composing Pograms", which is basically a Python version of a 'concise' SICP. Anyway, if I am to start with C, do you think its a good idea to learn python afterwards, for scripts and whatnot, or should I just leave it be and learn it if I feel the need? thanks

I have to wait till late march anyway since i dont have enough money, also i need a new PSU for the GTX 1070 (Currently i have a EVGA 500B which is barely enough).

Learn python after C so that you don't get infected by le lazy code monkey disease (much).
Both are very important and work well together each for their respective task.

it's easier and lowers the entry bar level

my basic observation is ubuntu is bad for managing dependencies and groups i may be wrong
i use arch btw and i can do what you said easy

is there any problem in replacing a laptop screen to a higher resolution one? it's a 15.6 40 pin inch screen, and it's too damn big to be just 768p.

15.6 inch 40 pin*

As long the panels use the same flex cables.
And i really mean the same cables, some use different ones.

hmm, how do I check that? I'm interested in the 156HTN03.3 screen that's available on ali. also I've read online that it's inadvisable because it may shit on my graphics card, but I can't see how that would happen. is this true?

no!

Is it part of a conspiracy?

Asus GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 Dual
$320
Is this a good deal?

It's just a special Ubuntu install image (spin) that sets you up with XFCE and a couple of other programs. IIRC you can just use tasksel to install the 'XFCE Desktop' package group and achieve basically the same effect. Most experienced users avoid spins and use net install images to select package groups directly.

My shitty Logitech 5.1s finally bit the dust, any suggestions on where to read up on suggestions for babby's first dac / monitor speakers?

how do I make these FUCKING CIRCLES GO AWAY when I'm trying to draw with my tablet.

I disabled "Touch keyboard and handwriting services" in Services. I disabled everything there is to disable in the "Pen and touch" panel. aside from the Wacom driver itself there's nothing left for me to disable/modify that I'm aware of, and these fucking piece of shit circles make it impossible to draw anything

Yes

It's a perfectly cromulent toolkit.

I accidentally my Linux installation and had to reinstall, including GRUB2. Now it's all fine, however I can no longer boot to Windows which I keep on the same drive. IIRC its bootloader used to live on the GRUB partition which got completely overwritten and so now there is nothing to be booted to. How do I best proceed to repair this?

What antivirus do you use, if any? On Windows.

my desktop by hp has a gpu with various video outputs, and 2 built in dvi ports with a plastic cap screwed on that says "DO NOT REMOVE"
so obviously i removed the caps and of course they just don't work.
how do i enable them?

..What have I be missing all these years?

>they are actually quite savvy
>they know how to deal with mpc-hc and use subtitles
next level hackerman skills

anyway go with chromecast and use localcast (mobile) or play local videos from chrome and cast (desktop)
chink android tv boxes are also pretty good but are slow as fuck to navigate even if they can play 4k@60 just fine

How do I actually contact Facebook support?
This is following from my question yesterday about verifying private messages content as evidence

How might I launch a .bat with a game controller?

I'm trying to make it so that I can launch Steam into big picture on my TV and disable my monitors(among other small tweaks) by holding the Home button for a few seconds. I got the .bat working, now I just need a way to run it using the controller. I'm guessing I could accomplish it with an AHK script, but I figured I'd ask just in case there was an easier way.

Should i replace my sapphire 7850 2GB with a 1050ti? Why or why not

Originally i wanted to go for one of those strix models but they're fucking overpriced as shit thanks to cryptoshitter scum

What sounds better:
listening to a song on $50,000 headphones
or
having the band play the song right in front of you

My phone doesn't have HW decoding for HEVC and it chugs like shit. Is there a way to decode it on my PC and stream it to my phone with minimal quality loss and no A/V sync issues or stutter?

I have just started working my way through Introduction to Algorithms. Do I really need to study all of its 1300 pages before I can get an entry level developer job?

>having the band play the song right in front of you
No way in hell you'd ask such a stupid question if you have ever been to a live performance. It is fucking shit.
Stick to flac and high quality headphones

Why does discord think MPC-HC is a game now, and how do I disable it for specifically that?

Just got a new place and I can't mooch off the landlord's ISP anymore. I'm living in Toronto, any anons have recommendations for which ISP I should go with?

I'm getting captcha notifications that google thinks my connection is sending automated spam. Do I actually have a trojan or are the captcha/hr limits really fucking low to encourage people to buy passes or something?

It's Google being a cunt.

where can I find a safe and easy to install torrent/download for win7?

It can be used to run flash games, can't it? Anyway, I'm pretty sure you can disable it by going to user settings -> Games.

I can disable the game status in general. If I remove MPC from thsi list it reappears when I open it again.

Microsoft used to host it themselves and then they made it so you need a product key. Someone hosts it still on a German site, all versions of it, ripped straight from Memecrosoft. I can't remember the name of it though. I'll have a look and post it if I can find it.
