It's over, linux is finished.
Looks good honestly. Good use of space that's otherwise wasted.
third party explorers have supported tabs since like 2008 dude. i guess its nice Microsoft officially caught on.
macOS had both features for years. Are pajeets and freetards even trying?
But why, literally just open up a new window lmao
>fagOS
Well done Microsoft. I am impressed. Why couldn't the freetards come up with this? Oh right, they aren't motivated to come up with good ideas.
>even the macOS version of the joke has more effort than the poojet version
how does MS manage to make Winblows look even more disgusting with every update?
Can I tag files like I can in ranger?
Welcome to 2007 wintards. Good file explorers in linux do have thumbnails.
You forgot to replace S with $ to sound like an actual autist you are.
Shouldn't you be posting vague advice on the MS help forum, Hardeep?
So has linux iFaggot
Thats it im switching to Windows
You just made this thread earlier and got BTFO. Go to bed
You're either blind or just a freetard. Win10 explorer looks better than any other version of Windows and way better than any shitty freetard DE.
But KDE had them like for ages.
And even Thunar had them
Windows Explorer still doesn't have
>dual view
>more view modes
>non-redundant side panel
>properly aligned icons and symbols
>no hidden thumbs.db files everywhere
>sane default configs (visible file name extension, kek)
>proper file size format (binary instead of decimal)
>proper date format
>split implementation between desktop, desktop icons and explorer application
>native SSH mounts
>file tagging support
>theming support
>support for changing file names with a leading dot
>support for changing file names which contain a directory separator character (legit NTFS file names, btw)
these are just a few things which immediately came to my mind. the list goes on and on and on...
distro?
Aren't Taskbar Buttons essentially Tabs?
All they've done is move it to the top.
You can essentially get the same effect from moving the taskbar to the top of your screen.
What file explorer and/or distro is that?
thats one ugly rice
Call me when it learns to copy folders only by copying and pasting.
Weird my windows always had tabs.
"Toтaльный" ayтизм.
>winfags implying this idea is "innovating"
Both Fluxbox and HaikuOS have been able to join windows in a tabbed manner for ages, but it's just not that intuitive or useful, which is why it was never picked up by a DE. If anything, they're running out of ideas.
I guess tiling WMs like i3 also count as being able to do that, but this feature is actually useful in a tiling WM.
Looks like a riced out Dolphin.
⌘+C
⌘+⌥+V
That doesn't work, you retard.
Nice
I have thumbnails nigga.
you have awful taste haha
currently use qttabbar but would be nice to have native
it might just be that the unpopularity of kde for the last decade has lead to a dearth of high quality themes, but I just can't stand the way that kde looks.
it's funny, but I love the way TDE (old kde 1-3) looks, it feels like it's it's own thing, that it has confidence in itself rather than trying to copy windows?
in the same way, gnome despite all it's dickery has confidence in it's own ideas and is unafraid to unilaterally act to realize them (to the chagrin of its users)
I think kde can make a comeback, but the time is not yet
How did you get dark mode for explorer?
Is that a theme or did you use some high contrast setting?
+1
qttabbar is excellent, even if I no longer use windows, it's something I miss; a shame that it's unmaintained, but it still just werks
How are windows different from tabs then?
My gf is always using total commander and I dont know what that is, is explorer not enough?
How did you get the dark theme (not black).
Ah excellent, good to see Windows finally joining the Mac and Linux users in 2009. I wonder what other antiquated basic functionality we'll see added next.
We already had this thread yesterday, and winfags were proved wrong.
0/10 shit bait
Nemo (Cinnamon) on Arch with the Adapta GTK theme, Papirus icon theme and Roboto font
do you know all these is just to shove an Edge tab in there, right?
they are pulling windows 98 types of monopoly tactics, again
>an Edge tab in there
Do you really not get how operating systems work?
There is no 'edge tab' in there. It's a webview component which on windows is powered by edgehtml.
The tabs themselves are based on which programs have been opened, ie one with powershell and the other with explorer.
So please, shut the fuck up with your retardation.
>Do you really not get how operating systems work?
what the fuck are you talking about
once again, they are going to shove you edge tabs in explorer itself
they already do with the stupid pdf reader they have baked in Edge, so that people use Edge por exactly that reason
it is not a matter of technology
Holy shit!
What a design nightmare.
it werks on every window
Or open one window you nigger
>facebook filename
Back to your shithole, facecuck.
>thumbnails
did you even try?
>not saving images using original filename
pleb detected
>tabs on the worst text editor in the history of mankind
still the worst
Manjaro
Yup, switching to debian i3 gaps when i have the time. Prolly after work today, im sick of manjaro and xfce's collective shit
>getting reaction images from facebook
literally any text editor not just notepad
>once again, they are going to shove you edge tabs in explorer itself
Quite literally false, stop talking.
>thumbnails
great bait
I look forward to seeing this feature this year.
But more importantly I want to see the dark mode for explorer finally available.
There's no excuse for this level of retardation in such a mainstream OS.
...
mac has had tabs for years
>not using Aquatabs for all your tab needs
It's like you fondle Microsoft's balls while sucking them off.
>node@node
just how many cocks do you suck
Didn't we have this at 95 already?
>/home/r/Downloads
>calling your user r so every path looks like a reddit
you are not worthy of her. leave her now, before she finds out you're a fraud
what DE is that? Deepin?
I don't know how the hell this took so long. Rather I'm kind of shocked after all the useless garbage W10 has added since release that they're actually doing something good for once.
/r/autismo
It's Budgie
OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64
Kernel: 4.14.23-1-MANJARO
DE: Budgie
WM: Mutter(Budgie)
Theme: Adapta-Eta-Maia [GTK2/3]
Icons: Papirus-Dark-Maia [GTK2/3]
That's not a filepicker, freetard.
Funny, I guess. Certainly not accurate.
Thank fucking lord, BeOS has been doing this forever and I've been waiting for people to imitate at least SOME of the functionality. I want my task bar to be full of TASKS not single windows, groups of them that I can hide and summon in a single click.
>Willing to go thermonuclear
I guess he wanted to hog all the radiation too
So should I stop using the chinese botnet file explorer now?
Literally anything would have been an improvement...
>he hasn't discovered qdir which has had tabs for fucken years.
I am currently running Windows 10 LTSB with Groupy for tabs. A step ahead of other solutions.
If by
>hog all the radiation
you mean
>get completely cured of pancreatic cancer y holistic medicines only
I'd say we won....
Cool.
I can see Groupy is $10 which is not a horrible price for the serious quality of life improvement, but why isn't there a free software alternative? It's clearly possible to do.
I like that BeOS has it, but it's not enough of a reason to start using BeOS.
It clearly is the next evolution of tabbed interfaces.
also 1440p masterrace detected, let us laugh at these 1080p plebs and 4k memers
Uhg. Stardock.
Objectdock is a fuggin cunt of a piece of software.
Enough to poison the well.
Also - that's literally just a taskbar ontop of the titlebar?
Whoopdy fucken dooooo!
>he spent $10 on that....
Why is her face so puffy?
Is she retaining water?
Is it auto immune or does she have a diet of pure salt?
Even the bags under her eyes are puffy.
Meanwhile they still can't fix the fucking laggy window dragging of every MS Office program if you have your mouse's polling rate set to >125hz
windows explorer is the best at handling file metadata. it's unmatched and probably will never be because linux filesystem can't even say 'file's creation date' lmao so stupid
just don't group the icons in the taskbar retard
I wish she was retaining this dick, if you know what I mean.
Thanks! Yes, tabs are really useful. They complement Windows Snap feat.
Groupy is a pretty neat software with very low ram input. Stardock software has gotten a lot better now. Yes, I can agree that Objectdock is shitty mac-dock clone, but Groupy is really good. I suggest you give the program a try before dismissing it. If I can pay for good games, I can do the same for good software that is on the budget.
I like icons on the taskbar. Looks more clean to me since I hate having many shortcuts in the desktop background.
Mac OS X has tabs since 10.8
They don't in my w10. why?
I bet your relationship and marriage will be tabbed as well.
They're in the insider program atm. Gonna be a while until they're released for everyone.
you faggots ever think that maybe my first name starts with the letter r?
You can get tabs with third part apps like Tidytabs or Groupy. They really consume very little ram.
>There is only one GNU/Linux, made only one way and you can't modify it
>This is what proprietary slaves actually believe
Your first name is reddit?
They've had tabbed filemangers, thumbnails in file pickers and various other things microsoft seems to be touting as "new features" for years, now.
I literally have been using this feature with stock GNOME on Arch for years now. Anything you can do on your cuck machine, us freetards can do better and ourselves without sucking corporate cock for a simple feature. I'm laughing so hard right now it's a good thing I'm on the toilet because I pissed laughing at your post.
> Adapta theme
I see, you're a man of culture as well
