There are lots of women at Purism.

Glad to know my phone is going to be a piece of shit then.

It's called gender inclusiveness.

Welcome to the new age OP. Were going to push women into tech and fuck up things so they are more consumeristic and profitable. We blindly believe that therr is such a thing called (((gender equality))). Have a nice day.

No, it has always been a thing.

must be a trans.

who's gonna cook for the male developers?
ever though about that?

Now I know why my computer and basically any tech that I have runs like shit. Thanks OP.

"""female""""

My gf is about to enroll in CS, any legit advice for her?
I'm EE, so idk much.

Tech Grills(boys) are the future!
Programmer socks + macintosh! WOOHOOO

>female

It is called "this area became cool and interesting enough to get me attention and likes on a social network".

It's always been a thing, it's just the cause celeb atm. (((For some reason))) there has been a drive to essentially force women in to roles they traditionally don't gravitate to. I've seen a few consequences of this: standards are dropping, and skilled males are leaving the field.

At work, both my chief engineer and lead system architect are females, but they've been in the game for over 20 years and are top notch technically. Alternatively, we just hired a new grad female software engineer that doesn't know what recursion is

Neck self.

I'm a highly functional avtist.

for you.

I should clarify: the new grad was hired after my boss did a (((more women in tech))) job fair at the university

If she's good at math, she'll be fine.

Programming is CS, but that's not all that she's going to do. It's possible to finish a CS course just fine and still barely be able to program.

>that doesn't know what recursion is
I've just done a year's worth of content in three months and recursion nowadays isn't even taught. Only reference was in an offhand comment never to use it or you'll confuse yourself and cause a segfault in C.

Meanwhile, one of the courses teaches a week's worth of pushing turtles around in patterns.

post feet

Alright, I already gave her a solid plan to get up to speed with math, maybe up to Calc I and LA, she'll revisit these topics anyways but I'd rather let her have the upper hand.
Thanks.

Do you know of a good resource to get the maths up to speed? Mine also needs a refresher.

Search for Paul notes, the website was something like math.lamar.edu or something like that. And compliment with Professor Leonard vids. For exercises (and more theory if needed) she could use Stewart Calculus, any edition is fine really.

Thanks

Try Khan Academy for something structured. You can also try googling curriculums for universities and googling materials related to it. YouTube also has plenty of stuff, although finding someone who's easy to watch and is good at explaining is a bit of a challenge.

much waynen such work, wow

No problem.

Yeah the maths for compsci from MIT is pretty challenging to the point that a relative who trained maths specialists couldn't get what one of the guys was on about.

I worked with a black woman a little younger than me who was a very good firmware engineer. Was at a tier 1 supplier to automotive. Not sure if affirmative action but good nonetheless.

Are you jesting? Isn't the math all the same?
At most I could see that their problems might be more creative than other unis considering the $ put into their staff.

I've been in a lot of IT companies, since I'm sort of a specialized mercenary and only do single projects and pack. I'd say here (eastern Europe) about 10% of people in IT are women. More often front end/designer types, but also some back end chicks.
Every team I've been on that had more than a few people working had a woman on the team.

Some unis go more in dept than others. Unis in which CS is basically a programming degree might just stop after Calc III and maybe some statistics related courses. Other might as well be slightly watered Math degrees.

>no chance to be with a girl because loser
>pretend to be a trans
>no dick chop, just cross dress
>find some lesbo
>fug

is this a good plan?

I see, my local CS program has calc I, II, III, LA I and (II as elective), Statistics, Algebra I, II and perhaps other math courses as electives, so I guess it should be fine.

No because you'll never pass of as an actual girl and lesbos are lesbos because they like girl(girl) not some weirdo who can't even be proud of who he is.

What could go wrong?

What's LA stand for?
But yeah, that sounds pretty normal.

Linear algebra.

I really wonder what they would do in year 2 since Linear Algebra is easily a single year subject.

My gf is ME but she wants to go to law school to be a patent Jew right after.

Dunno really, we have LA in the admission course along chemistry, calculus, and physics I.
And during the career it seems you can revisit LA stuff more in depth, that's why it's an elective I guess. If you're interested here's one of the recommended books mate.dm.uba.ar/~jeronimo/algebra_lineal/AlgebraLineal.pdf

Do a book on discrete and combinatorial mathematics, really, it will help both math fundamentals and computer programming in general.

Mathematics: A Discrete Introduction, 3rd edition by Edward R. Scheinerman should give a good and easy to follow introduction.

do you have autism?

A female ever touching your penis is a joke. Females in the tech industry is very real. Cheers.

Idk she looks pretty cute, no thottery or feminist looks. Might actually be a decent female developer and not a diversity hire

the only women who go into the tech industry do it because they were skeptical they could live an independent life in another field.

this is why the majority of women in tech world are east or south asian. Ms. White, on the other hand, demands she be paid well for whatever degree she takes

I work as a developer and one of my coworkers is a woman, she's very competent and nice. Our project manager is also a woman and she also does a great job. Ironically enough the new sysadmin we hired who happens to be a guy is totally clueless and slow and a pain in the ass to work with.

I don't mind women in tech as long as they're competent and nice to work with. Kinda like how it should be with any person regardless of gender, really...
