Where in the UK is the most musically influential?

London in general but Manchester on pop rock

Manchester or London. Maybe down south when it comes to IDM but not really any other specific places.

London, Manchester, Liverpool

Mainly London & Manchester. Birmingham has a good history of artists, particularly Metal bands, but no where near the level of artists as the other two.

The drummer hung himself because he got found out to be a nonce.

its funny bc im a scot and my first answer would have also been glasgow

Throbbing Gristle is from Manchester, so I'm going to say Manchester. South London takes second place.

qt

London obviously but my favourite artists and labels are a split from Bristol / Manchester / Brighton.

15th century polyphonic vocal music.

English music peaked in 1450.

They also lead in new complexity these days. Brian Ferneyhough, Michael Finnissy, etc.

Manchester

Manchester, only because being in the middle makes it less ideologically controversial. Otherwise it would be Glasgow.

your both dopes. its London. Yes Manchester had Post Punk and Glasgow had shoegaze but London has been the centre of UK Music since the 1960's.

Were not saying which created the best music were saying which created the most.

Canterbury

Rochdale

Cornwall

>londonderry

Nobody listens to London music except Londoners. You're boring and insular.

London, Manchester, Brizzle, Glasgow. Everywhere else is a bit irrelephant

Liverpool, obviously.

>No love for the Belfast punk scene

Leeds is the number one place to be if you want a band that sounds similar to other bands but not as good.

it's shit being from south yorkshire

fuck the artic monkeys
anybody here like Saxon?

the whole country is hugely london-centric so like i think london would definitely actually be the most influential city
birmingham's had its fads like the whole 'btown' 90s revival thing a couple of years ago with peace, swim deep, jaws, superfood etc but they all shit the bed fairly quickly
obvs brimingham piggybacks on grime as well but overall not hugely influential, even going further back we only really have two artists of any actual note (black sabbath and elo)
manchester and liverpool are both pretty objectively more influential than birmingham, but london definitely comes out on top

Hertfordshire

Well, it's Liverpool. Because there was one band in particular in Liverpool which came to influence countless bands in London, Manchester, Scotland, Wales, the entire world.
However in the sheer number of artists, it's London

Leicester obviously
