Street lights, because all the posts are being corroded at the base thanks to rampant public urination.

>A day without being harassed by a street bum
>A day where your air doesn't smell like a cat piss
>A day where you're cognizant to the fact of being financially crushed just to say "I live in San Francisco"
But no one lives in SF besides bums, everyone else there just commutes in from Walnut Creek.

is this real?

for me, across the street

>be american
>drive my truck 1 hour consuming 20L/100km to walmart
>walk 10 miles to the sweets isle
>pay and tip the cashier
>get shot

They do indeed have had a serious problem with public urination for a long time. In one case, a metal post got so corroded it toppled into the street, almost killing a driver. Since then, they have city workers inspections thousand of posts for signs of corrosion.

They tried all sorts of measures with little success, including a bizarre wall paint that that sends the piss back towards the pisser's shoes, and solar-powered public toilets that get towed around the city. Last year they tried to combat public urination by... building public urinals. Seriously.

Looks like by the end of last year they just gave up and made it legal.

The absolute STATE of san francisco

I think you have pretty much closer to a 0% chance getting shot in the suburbs or more rural areas

wow... lmao. how is this real? wtf. I honestly think it should be legal to pee in public as long as you do it discretely in an alley or behind a tree etc. because sometimes you really have to piss and there's no legit options available. Like all the stores have "no public restroom" signs or there not even a legit option around, or a giant line of people waiting to piss. People should not have to piss themselves in situations where there are no other options. but wtf I never knew enough pee could actually destroy a lightpoll. my sides.

>I honestly think it should be legal to pee in public
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

>Import pajeets as tech employees
>public urination suddenly is a major problem

He's kinda right. If it's a damn emergency and can't find one it shouldn't be illegal to go, just something you shouldn't normally do as a respectable member of society.

Not from san fran but pretty much any American city has a bathroom fee. Most places strictly enforce their bathrooms with a 'purchase' and usually even when homeless people purchase things they are expected to leave quickly.

lel
but seriously, there are crazy hobos in san Francisco, both in quantity and in mental health. I bet the only place you'll see more is in Seattle.
Last time I went to the bay area (San Jose), those were easily the most feral hobos I had ever seen.

Instead of legalizing public urination how about creating more bathrooms or enforcing a restroom policy for businesses. How about solving the problem instead of appealing to primal needs.

This is legitimately 1 step away from India and I mean that both as a joke but also as a serious problem. Urine and other body waste should be properly disposed of, not sprayed into the streets where it can cause harm of all kinds to all kinds of things.

this is because homeless people jack off and take drugs in public bahrooms, my starbucks has a bin for heroin needles in the bathroom because they just used to leave them on the floor or in the sink
america is a third world country

>Instead of legalizing public urination how about creating more bathrooms or enforcing a restroom policy for businesses
Are you 12 or lived in some shithole farmhouse fucking your sister your entire life?

We in third world at least find a bush or tree to pee at
It boggles my mind why anyone would pee on concrete or steel, it just doesn't feel good on your dick

>lived in some shithole
No, but with the way laws are changing, I may live in one soon.

>Americans donate millions of dollars to another country to solve a bathroom problem
>can't spare enough city tax dollars to provide and maintain public restrooms

>by... building public urinals. Seriously.
what kind of city doesn't have public urinals?

I have this but technically I'm in south bay.

>brunch/lunch/dinner without waiting in line for 2 hours

I fell for this meme once in SF, never again

This is America, see We have some real connotative dissonance around here. We assume if people just do it "somewhere else then my business" it will be fine. Except when it becomes so prevalent it destroys the area.

Honstly though, Starbucks is asking for it. Having single bathrooms that lock is basically an invitation that says make this your home for a bit. Don't get me wrong, they'll do it in a stall too but we both know its not as bad when someone else could walk in.

If you make public urinals it will just attract homeless people. I don't believe that but I imagine that is what most people would say here if asked.

I guess I should have made it clear. These urinals are actually in the open air, in full view of everyone. The articles have pictures.

The only real solution is to reopen asylums. The sensationlized horror is largely a product of media focusing down a handful of aslyums practicing somewhat fringe, but contemporary medicine at the time.

I'd rather use the open air urinal than go in our park bathrooms with people shooting up, on the floor in drug induced comas, and having sex in the stalls plus they hang around like 10 - 13 of them around the entrance
I remember going in there as a kid it was scary

Being a pathetic, envious shithole flyover.

>cutting off the frontal lobes of wards of the state
>contemporary
that may have been valuable research but 1-800-cmon-now

How unfortunate that we can't see and/or address the problems directly, instead of making progress we degrade back to animals. Is it fear of pointing out a real issue, fear of having to solve the issue, lazyness, ignorance? Looks like the root of the problem stems even deeper.

I just wish they would capture the homelsss with nets and put them in labour camps; after 2 - 3 years of hot meals and hard work you can come out

Lobotomies weren't uncommon for like 2 decades

>be american
>get urinated

that's something we're only allowed to do to illegal immigrant scum, and even then we'd technically be committing inhuman acts towards the citizen of another country

there is zero room in america for conviction without trial

People are kept in jail for months before trial date all the time

I think we just hate or hesitate to help people. I also think we don't know what to do. When things work, really work, they generally aren't controversial.

They can have that if they decide to move to Texas

I bet you hate communists too. You do realize you are suggesting a gulag right?

months isn't years
and if you can document financial injury due to being denied bail you can sue for damages.

Anyways this misses some important facts:
There are n degrees of resources a homeless person has to get back on their feet. The problem is that the people who are still homeless despite those resources are simply unable to hold down a job due to mental instability, drug issues, the works.

To assume that most homeless people are actually still ``people'' in the philosophical sense of the word is extreme naivety.

pretend I made a fedora joke here

>asserting the consequent
>communism has a gulag
>user wants a gulag / America needs a gulag
>user wants communism / America will become a communist country
Cease. Communists also breath the air.

I don't think the homeless issue would be as bad under socialism, but most crazy type homeless people aren't for economic reasons but are either socially broken or mentally broken; so yes a 'gulag' is probably the only soloution for them

Sanfran is in a whole other level. And I fear the rest of the world is only a couple decades behind.

atomic age, daddio!

wow, san francisco sounds like bad place
But my boss went to USA and said that san frascisco was nice

>but most crazy type homeless people aren't for economic reasons but are either socially broken or mentally broken
Socialist countries had good healthcare tho, so these cases would be decreased in number too. You know Solzhenitsyn, he of Gulag Archipelago fame? He was diagnosed with, and fully treated for, a cancer while he was a gulag inmate. How many Americans have access to that level of healthcare today? Commies kind of prioritized material rights but didn't give much of a shit to civil rights, while we do the opposite. Sometimes I think we only ended slavery because the rich realized that keeping a slave housed, fed and in good health was more expensive than just paying someone a minimum wage and otherwise ignoring his existence.

anywhere sounds bad if you focus on all of the bad parts
my recommendation to you if you ever decide to go anywhere is to simply avoid walking from place to place if you can help it. Not having to deal with the locals (and by locals I mean subhuman feral hobos) will make your trip much more memorable

Actually live in a luxury apartment that isn't made from shitty building materials and costs between 1500-2500.

In SF, the apartments are called "luxury", but gentrify the ghettos and are made with the cheapest building materials possible. They lack sound proofing and cannot possibly get any worse.

Paying 3k/month in rent literally anywhere else in the US will get you much further than it would in SF. However, in SF, it will barely get you 400sqft.

fuck that they could atleast have the courage to evict them in person
they should have torn the robot to pieces

>restroom policy for businesses
but muh capitalism

I had a remote job that had an office in SF. When I first got hired, they made me spend two weeks with them there. On my way to work from my hotel one day, I got my hair pulled by a homeless man. When I turned around to see wtf was happening, he yelled at me to ask for fifty cents.

>fifty cents

I punched that homeless piece of shit in the mouth and no one on the crowded street gave a shit. To this day, I can't believe he fucking assaulted me just to ask for fifty fucking cents.

When the company told me that they loved seeing me out there for two weeks, they told me they would be flying me up there every month for two weeks each month. I literally quit in front of our entire engineering department on a google hangout because of it. Living in SF for two weeks a month is just not fucking worth it.

They are called pissoirs and they were invented in Paris in the 1800s. Silicon Valley loves to pretend they invented everything. The French have been perfecting public urination technology for hundreds of years.

That just means it's exactly the kind of thing that should be illegal, but not overly actively patrolled for.

Holy shit, user.

Was this like right on Market St by any chance?

A homeless man did the EXACT same thing to me right on Market St. He didn't grab my hair though, he grabbed the strap of my backpack as I walked by him and yelled at me about the fifty cents after forcibly turning me around and pulling me. I'm beta, so I got scared and ran into a McDonalds there. Glad to hear he got punched.

By any chance, this happen around mid-June 2017? I was there visiting for an onsite company thing as a remote worker, too.

I'm in an almost brand new apartment building, 750 sqft, soundproofed and hardwood floors and all kinds of nice stuff for $1600 in the middle of one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city. Why do people like California so much again?

I saw homeless guy chasing people down the street screaming at them and the cop who saw it just calmly told the homeless guy to fuck off and left it at that. I was not impressed at all with San Fransisco, it's totally infested with homeless people. Seattle is about as bad too, everyone either works for Amazon or is homeless.

they had open air public urinals in Ancient Greece and Rome

>ran into a McDonalds there.
wouldn't have worked where I live, they live in and around the mcdonalds litteraly 20 - 30 homeless people screeching, wooping and yelling at passersby. theere's so many of them they have a mob mentality
I saw someone get stabbed and run screaming out of the mcdonalds and no one gave a shit

oh wow. Yeah, this was right on Market St and a corner of some other street maybe a block away from the McDonalds I think you're talking about.

Yeah, this was mid-June 2017. I punched that motherfucker maybe a block in front of that McDonalds.

Crazy. Glad to hear that I avenged you if it's the same person.

>tfw live in comfy south bay

Attached: 1517498592016.png (487x487, 280K)

From San Jose to the North Bay is not at all what I would call comfy.

san jose is comfy. so many asian cuties, big city with small city feel. christmas in the park is max comfy. santa cruz is just a drive away for ocean vibes
i say this as growing up in north bay

not trying to be an SJW here but nigga, women can't just whip out their dick wherever they want and they still have to hold it until they find a bathroom
unless they're hooker hobos or something

France loves to pretend they invented everything. Ancient Rome has been perfecting public urination technology for thousands of years.

>France loves to pretend they invented everything
The unironically do though

This bit about slavery is literally true. The use of slaves died off in the northern USA as the economy started to depend on industrial production. With the laws of the time, a slave working in a factory would have had more rights - and would have been more expensive. You have to take care of an injured slave, but not an injured worker.

i've peed in a condom before and it wasn't fun
now imagine this lmao

WHO HERE /PLEASANTHILL/

It'd be no different than whatever that policy is that makes restaurants give you water if you ask for it.

You just have to pitch it at the owners the right way
>they can shit in your bathroom or shit on your stoop, which would you rather?

Of the people who tell me they're going to or just did urinate outside, the majority has been women in my experience. Men may have an easier ability peeing outside but despite this they seem to hold it more often than women, women seem to have to piss more often and can't hold it well.

They're obviously not "whipping their dicks out" but nothing prevents them from popping a squat anywhere a man would piss.

>India: Poo in the loo
>SanFran: Pee in the WC

What? You don't put your dick on the thing you're peeing on, do you?

And homeless people in SF don't have a choice, because they are degenerate pieces of shit.

>And homeless people in SF don't have a choice
No public bathrooms in SF?

Homeless is socal means you make under 500k
