Which devices do you protect and how do you protect them from power surges, or any other electrical issues?
Should I just get a whole house surge protector?

Houses don't pass the technical exam to get connected to the electrical grid without one, at least that is how it works in my country.
>not using at least a cheap Chinese one lice pic related
Do you hate money and your computer?
>Should I just get a whole house surge protector?
It already have of you don't live in a deep-Africa tier country
That's why I moved this question to the "stupid question" thread. Thanks for the follow up.
My main concerns is for my audio equipment which unintentionally became the most expensive setup in my house besides my drum set.
The fuse in your audio gear should do the job if your surge protector fail, fellow drummer, but yeah, you could get a protector "just in case"
The really funny thing I find about
>muh surge protector
breads is that most 1st world cuntries have mandatory rcd devices built into their fuse boxes.
No surge protector has the speed or redundancy of an rcd.
It serves its purpose as a power strip at least.
Yeah, and the house I live in was built back in 2009, so it's rather up to date.
Any real surge suppression should be done to your entire house.
You should also keep important electronics On-line interactive UPS's, Double conversion UPS, or a Delta conversion UPS.

Yea, have something like pic related installed if you don't have one already.
Sensible, easy to maintain / upgrade / use.
Also, sauce animation: youtube.com
Gives you an idea how these might be installed, [though this manufacturer is a bit more fancy than average.]
I have multiple UPS with built-in surge protection for critical electronics, such as computer and network equip.
UPS's provide almost no actual surge protection, just so you're aware.
Usually less than 1000 joules of suppression.
Of course I also have It's mandatory in all European countries.
Fair enough, but in that case the UPS itself is providing basically no actual surge protection since the surge would be stopped before it even reaches the UPS.
> Modern European power installation
Then you probably just don't need extra surge protection.
If all my stuff sans my computer can survive without issue if my power just goes out no? Could just get a laptop.
7 computers, 3 printers, 1 laptop that is working as a server, a modem, 2 routers, a switch, a camera system, the cameras, and eventually more stuff.
Battery is enough to use everything for 25 minutes at full load, 45 minutes at the load i give it.
