Xiaomi Mi A1

I bought it, Sup Forums ^^ I can't wait for it to arrive!

I opened a thread a few days ago when my Nexus 4's touch broken, and some user made me aware of this device! So, thank you.

suck a dick for a real phone (i.e. iPhone), bitch

Btw, 6600 UAH means about 200 EUR.

I had two iPhones. I don't want iPhone anymore.

I got a Mi 5s a few months ago, better CPU but less RAM, smaller screen. Quite surprised by how good quality Xiaomi actually is for the price. I expected battery to last longer, but I get 2 days usage, about 6 hours screen on time.
Wouldn't have minded getting a Mi A1 desu, I just found the 5s for cheaper than the A1 when I bought mine (225 compared to 240 that the A1 was on release). You'll enjoy it, OP.

Tip: You might want to install LineageOS on it. I didn't like MIUI at all. Lineage is smooth as fuck and I didn't lose any functionality. Camera is apparently worse quality, but you can install a Google Camera version port and it'll work smooth and retain quality.

I bought the A1 because it comes with stock Android. It's like a Nexus Device, I assume.
I think I'll be fine with battery, I was happy with my Nexus 4, which usually got me about 4hr of OST and a day and a half of normal usage (was charging it every night).

Зa чтo бaнили-тo хoть?

>I bought the A1 because it comes with stock Android.
Oh yea, you're right. Totally forgot about that partnership with Google. Ignore the LineageOS part then.

How's your 5s? I'm planning on getting either getting that or the RN5P (Fuck you Naming Scheme I'm not a Baljeet) if it gets USB-C.

>Mi A1
Good device, great buy.
The only thing shitty about chink manufacturers is that after a while, they tend to replace the internals of the product with cheaper alternatives. That means there are chances you'll get a phone with a different (often worse) camera than the one reviewed by tech people at release. Slower memory, worse screen and so on can also be affected.
Keep your fingers crossed and pray that this won't happen to the Mi A1 or at least to the phone you'll receive.

>Xiaomi
Enjoy your chink phone you fucking retard

I like it a lot. It fits my needs perfectly, and I don't think I've seen it stutter once in almost half a year now.
If anything, I have minor annoyances with it, but nothing major that keeps me awake at night or has me thinking of switching anytime soon, such as:
- 3GB of memory is more than enough, and it never fills up. But Android aggressively kills bigger apps like games, which is annoying, but it's fast at booting them again.
-Slightly curved screen on the edges means that glass protectors won't stick to the edges unless you get a more bulky one.

fucking russian nigger get lost

Tits or gtfo.

I wasn't aware of this aspect. Will keep an eye on, thanks.

My brother got it recently. Seems alright.

>xiaomeme
Enjoy your locked bootloader.

>UAH
Is this Cyrillic? Because that is not how I read it. More like: grn

It isn't actually on the A1. It's part of Google's Android One program ^^

en.miui.com/unlock/

>A1

>Locked Bootloader

A1 has an unlocked bootloader...

So can I install gentoo on it?

No, it's UAH, Ukrainian Hrivnya.

You can no longer ask to unlock bootloader for phones that sold after 2018 as per their new policy (idk if it's only for new model or new, old model too).

How's life in little Russia?

Pretty good. Weather sucks, In Odessa it's raining, but it's fine.

>It's raining, weather sucks
Pff, try living through winter with -25C°
You know nuttin

I do know, that's regular winter temperature here (: Even below that sometimes.

How can this be? I'm much more in the North than you're

During nights we get -20 often. Late december, early january you can get -25.

Because the Earth is tilted.

Eh...

Can anyone tell me if the Mi A1 works on AT&T's 4G network?

What is wrong?

frequencycheck.com/models/A4mXx/xiaomi-mi-a1-global-dual-sim-td-lte-mdg2-mi-5x-xiaomi-tiffany

doesn't seem like it, but you can compare yourself with AT&T

traditionally however american telecoms are stupid greedy motherfuckers, so I wouldn't expect a chinkphone marketed towards europe and asia to support it

Stop harassing women.

Report back after several months how quality of your charging/usb port
I have RN3P, after half a year it loosen a lot. Have to put it steadily to charge or use via USB.
And it's not charger, holds tight on my ebook reader

I got this with stock Android but I liked MIUI better. It had more privacy features, it had that ball that allowed single hand usage, the screenshot tool allowed cropping and blurring, etc.

I got this problem on my Nexus 4 once. I used a needle to clean the port of my phone (it was filled with dust and makeup) and after that everything worked as new. Seriously, initially I thought the charging port was broken. Advice: turn off the phone before attempting this. Unfortunately you can't use anything else (like something made from plastic) as you need something really thin and sturdy.

>MIUI
It's rubbish. if you want privacy controls then install LineageOS. You even get per application data traffic permissions, or contacts or accounts access.

>^^
kys

Thanks, will try. Thought about it, but just assumed it's shitty chink quality

I have it on my Nexus 4. I love it.

Got mine for 165

Here the 32GB model is 6000 UAH (185 EUR) and the 64GB is 6600UAH

Post vk

So LineageOS works fine with the Mi A1? Any issues?

>5.5"
too big
MI5-pan

Dude I've been wanting one for a while now. Is it any good?

Camera is shit tier, and theres a white noise in the background if you listen to music with a low impendancy set. Android one updates are constantly late, kr straight out cancelled (im on secirity update from january still, altougg some ppl report they got february update, i sure as hell didnt).
BUT im satisfied with it regardless, it works well

Pretty sure thats how all the applecucks got their product

>too big
Indeed. But what can I do..?

Look here: gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_a1-review-1668.php

I have it - it's shite. Clean Android is shite. I should have bought mi 5x.

humming in headphones, no useful features from miui and no ability to change keys behavior - hamburger key is a dedicated app switching. I have apps that need physical menu button and I cant use them because there isnt one and you can't remap keys. Brilliant.

>Clean Android
Is the best. MIUI is complete rubbish, and an iOS rip-off. A bad rip-off of a shite OS.

>I have apps that need physical menu button
Use Lineage. I have it on my Nexus 4 and has a menu key.

Got one a few days ago. Enjoying stock android and does the job. Amount I paid is fairly decent for a mid-spec phone as well.
Do hear some white noise with my earphones plugged in similar to what said but otherwise I'm happy with it.

I hope you are prepared for the annoying static noise if you use it with low impedance earphones(

Weird, GSMA reported clean output, and generally good audio quality. Will see whe it arrives. I like using my aux jack in my car with my phone.

I currently use this phone. I love it. Low price, stock Android, great performance, great build quality, microSD card slot, fast fingerprint reader, headphone jack. The only issue I've run into is the phone resets when you try to use YouTube's Picture in Picture mode (not sure why), so I just turn that off.

Oh yeah, and the camera is garbage as points out but I don't do much phone photography so it's w/e.

>cмapтфoн

the fuck are you? some kind of a serbian nigger?

I wanted to buy it but my redmi note 3 is still holding stronk years later. Maybe the next iteration

>.ua domain
>the fuck are you
Are you retarded?

Anyone use this phone is US on LTE?

Did you guys get the february security patch?

Yes

I think you can get it from here: en.miui.com/download-333.html
And you can use fastboot to flash it: dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip
And I think this driver should work: developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html

I almost bought the Mi A1 back when I needed a new phone.
bought the Mi5s plus since it was the same price as the Mi A1 during the 11/11 sale.

I've had no issues with my phone so far. I have LineageOS 15.1 installed and its fantastic. The only problem is that the Cameras are Trash-tier compared to flagship phones but for $215 I can't complain.

The autist is so retarded that he can't research before opening his whore mouth.

>Camera is shit tier
More like software camera, try gcam, it makes miracles

The camera is not that bad for photos. For video, it sucks, but you can install gcam

Attached: IMG_20171231_230845.jpg (3000x4000, 504K)

Which Xiaomi phone has the best camera?

mi note 3 but I'm not sure

What do you mean gcam? Like stock Google camera app?

Nope, you can do it with the 5+/Note 5 and Note 5/Note 5 Pro.

Nice

seconding this
forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/tool-google-camera-root-magisk-enable-t3747585

Ty, but when i woke up today, i got the update notification.

Ok, ill give it a shot. If i understand correctly, this doesnt need root or anything?

nope doesn't need root, i haven't had a proper play around with it yet but people say it makes a big difference in image quality.

Ok, i definitely will try it, its not risky, is it? I dont want to brick the device

What if you install OpenCamera? That one uses Camera2 API afaik.

>Femanon used Nexus 4, LineageOS, Android One

You seem pretty cool, none of the girls i know ever cared about this stuff, mostly they bought samsung,
I'm using Redmi Note 3 Pro with LineageOS (no gapps), can't beat xiaomi's price-to-performance ratio

>Nexus 4, LineageOS
Perks of not affording a new device :^)

>implying this is an actual female on Sup Forums

Is there any benefit to using Lineage OS assuming you haven't been brainwashed by Sup Forums into falling for the "botnet" meme?

Maybe for manlets and women

On A1, not that much. A1 comes with stock Android. You do have a lot more privacy control on Lineage though and data transfer permissions per application. Also, you can just use OpenGapps Pico to only get Store working (withoug any other google crap), which it makes the OS have a smaller footprint.

>You seem pretty cool, none of the girls i know ever cared about this stuff
fucking kek welcome to the internet

Can confirm, this does drastically improve the image quality
