Actually its just a plain old apartman I rent. It has 4 rooms, (currently 3 in use by 5 persons). Its cheap, I get a decent sized room (24 square meters). The Angled roof is annoying sometimes but I got used to it

i got a Raspberry Pi1B hooked to it with it running 240p out to the monitor (there is a new firmware from the community that enables 240p output on the Pi, its awesome with Retropie). pic related, my Pi, used an old modem casing

here are the guts. using modified plastic parts of xmas lights for the screw mounts for the board and other components. and thanks! they are a thrift store item that's easily sourced. i was able to make it work quite well. It's a Pi B running Retropie, so i don't run anything past Sega Genesis/CD or SNES, as well as Neo Geo, 8 Bit Micros and PC Engine/TurboGrafx/CD and many handhelds up to and including GBA. looks sick on that tv with the scanlines that 240p makes, and there is no flicker like when you run things in the stock 480i mode.

Cozy and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight. You could probably benefit from monitor mounts. I use the monoprice essential ones and they're pretty robust, flexible, and cheap. I'd recommend them. The desk feels more open without the monitor bases there.

I like the orange GC Ikea aesthetic.
It would look better if you bundled your monitor cables and brought them behind the stand of each monitor rather than passing them through the cable management hole.
Somewhat cozy if not a bit cluttered and cramped. Is that a custom painted Dell Optiplex/Dimension case? Also, where do your legs go? It looks like sitting at that computer would be impossible unless you literally didn't have legs. Also also, thanks for the heads up, I need to look into that 240p Raspbery Pi image. Might help resolve some of the overscan issues I was having with my Retropi/CRT setup.
Not a huge fan of the speaker in between the monitors but I understand why you have it like that. I'm also not a huge fan of mounting shit on the walls inappropriately. Keyboards aren't that bad I guess but it makes me think of those cringy stations where people mount their old ass graphics card on the wall. Overall cozy though. Could you post your wallpaper?
Points for Ikea but where do your legs go? Do you have legs? You gotta do what you gotta do but it looks fucking uncomfortable.

re: i use a stool, and lean, maybe changing it soon, some games i just use a controller with. as for the way to run it, look up PopcornMix's Test Firmware, it's a download you unzip, and then drop the files into the root of the 'boot' partition, then in the config.txt file, set the following
SD_TV=16
that will set your Pi to output 240 lines progressive NTSC (18 if you are in PAL land). no need for a custom Retropie image, i dont use one, just the stock img file, then add the roms and bios files on a linux PC, and then scrape the roms.

RetroTink makes a nice PiHat that does RGB, along with that firmware. there is also a version that uses Component/SVideo/Composite. you should give it a look. would make for an awesome cabinet project!

I had the same dilemma with the 60cm vs 75cm depth, it really depends on how you are sitting, 60 is fine if you sit somewhat upright close to the desk, but you wont be able to recline and really get under the desk if you have it against a wall as opposed to in the centre of a room
it really depends on how you sit, 60cm is fine for me with a small footrest added, but I only use one monitor
