I just got fired from my job, my mom and I aren't talking, and my girlfriend broke up with me a while ago and I can't stop thinking about her. I'm feeling pretty angry and angst ridden. I've been playing Shellac's prayer to God and Don Amon by Slint for a while now. Any recommendations or songs like these?

Come on guys. You really have got nothing? It doesn't have to be minimalistic like these songs but at least have them evoke some angst and touch on isolation and betrayal or whatever.
You've probably already listened to it!

>people actually believe that Devil & God is Brand New's best work
But yeah OP, Brand New are great for that kind of feeling. Deja Entendu is a beautiful album.
Don't know. They're just gone.
I agree. That song really struck it hard on me!
Sweet. And Elliott Smith is always a go to. Thanks!
Trist - Stiny
Planning For Burial - Desideratum
Jesu - S/T
King Woman - Doubt
The Cure - Pornography
Suffocate For Fuck Sake - Blazing Fires...
Might seem childish, but Slipknot helps me when I'm filled with angst. The title track on Iowa is especially therapeutic when I'm angry.
I think that hardcore punk is a good genre for this. I recommend Zen Arcade by Husker Du.

or as been indicated by this thread, any emo/post-hardcore especially thisss fammmm
Thank you!
It's cool man! I don't really believe in things being childish like that. I will definitely listen to it. Thanks!
Listen to Good Morning, Captain and own up to your bullshit.
If you liked Spiderland have this, 10x more angst ridden with just as complex guitar work. First track is actually supremely quiet and peaceful though.

A lotta lyrics in here have to do with angst, but not all of it is angst ridden. Good album.

This one's a gut-punch and it keeps gut-punching all the way through.

This one is a good companion track to Good Morning, Captain. But the entire album isn't that angsty. Still worth it if you want to listen to it in full later.
Nice man. Really digging this stuff so far.
(OP)
I guess you listened to Shellac for the lyrics, but if you liked the production, check out In Utero if you haven't yet for Albini's work.
The whole record is probably the most angst-ridden one I've heard. It feels like a stream of consciousness of a very troubled man:
I love you for what I am not
I do not want what I have got
A blanket acne'ed with ciggarette burns
Second-rate third degree burns
What is wrong with me [x2]
What do I think of me ?
I used to listen to it on repeat for days. Probably I've never related to an album more in my life.
Just listen to rage against the machine and immortal technique. Both political, but they get you pumped.
