What's the most unique, fresh and different music you've heard in recent years? Something that you can't imagine existing 10 or 20 years ago? pic unrelated.

love this oddity

this aswell, vaportrap hits a certain spot

...

The answer is vaporwave.
Actually, maybe not, because that's what a lot of people claim they thought the future would sound like. So maybe Death Grips

Dean Blunt (mainly The Narcissist 2)
James Ferraro
Tbh, I can't find anything quite like AnCos older stuff, like Hollinndagain and Danse Manatee
Ariel Pink
Current 93
The Fiery Furnaces

Is this a thing on Sup Forums? This album? Because this album is the shit.

protip that painfully lazy chopped and screwed (vaporwave) does not count as a completely unique, original, new sound.

Has to be this.
10 years ago this would have definitely sounded like future.

youtu.be/pGMojZB0Lm0

It's easily Death Grips, famalam.

>shitty hipster black metal impersonation
no

Dälek has existed since the late 90s.

>I haven't listen to it.

Front Line Assembly is usually a solid decade or so ahead of the pack sound wise. I couldn't imagine Echogenetic existing 10 years ago. Shit's pretty fresh.

what album is this?

Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time

I like DG but I don't think the DG thing is necessarily true. It think that it easily could have been a thing somewhere in the late 80 early 90 sort of artsy punk scene. Of course they'd probably deal with slightly different themes but musically they'd sound pretty similar, maybe they'd use more or mainly guitars.

While I like Dalek I don't think they're all that much comparable to DG. Especially the vocals. In general DG seems to take a lot more inspiration from punk music.

Candy Claws - Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time

please for once stop memeing guys

Maybe their later Abandoned Languages and Gutter Tactics songs, but From Filthy Tongues and Absence have enough of a punk influence that can make them comparable to Death Grips.

footwork

probably synthwave

Well if you insist, the freshest album I've heard in a long time was pic related.

>B-b-but it's a meme

Yea, its fucking beautiful. A genre of music that encapsulates the meme era of humanity is exactly what I define as fresh. But please, tell me what bloggers tell you to listen to, and explain to me how its fresh.

>please for once stop memeing guys
>A bunch of people share an opinion i don't have
>it must be just a meme

...

Everybody not posting Death Grips is just afraid they're going to be memed at

Death Grips

>tell me what bloggers tell you to listen to, and explain to me how its fresh.
>Pick the one album EVERY blogger tells you to listen to.
>Explains why its fresh

I agree, but that's an easy answer and kind of boring desu. Same with people posting Death Grips

what exactly death grips did thats so innovative?

i mean jesus christ they use the freakin electric guitar/. the single most overused instrument in popular music

i feel like shit for only discovering this today

elseq 1-5

>defending memes in earnest seriousness
sometimes cancer kills it's host

>pitched down 80's toons

>OMG ITS SO FRESH AND NEW

feels like im being baited

Reminder that a meme is LITERALLY Just a shared idea.

...

>Top Definition. meme. (noun) 1 : an idea, belief or belief system, or pattern of behavior that spreads throughout a culture either vertically by cultural inheritance
No, it's a belief system. Pic related.

Yeah.... literally seven projects after their inception as a band.

(if you're not counting Birds)

*eight, in inclusion with fashion week

random wolf sounds, scrunched up paper, sinister ambient pad, people eating

>Sup Forums can't imagine anything posted itt existing 10 or 20 years ago
Sup Forums confirmed for underage

>an idea, belief or belief system
>an idea, belief or belief
>an idea, belief or
>an idea, belief
>an idea

I couldn't imagine ANYTHING I listen to today 10 years ago

I'm doing new-sounding stuff, though I won't post it on Sup Forums.

but this is just second rate OPN with random bleep bloops.

nah

Don't worry user, the charm wears off after about the third listen.

First three tracks are pretty great, though.

...

I have to agree with you, user.

There's just something so alien about the digital synths here.

Not even aphex twin got this strange with his synths.

you got none of those attributes right at all lmao
