otherwise this is 10/10 but i just can't into that track, dalek's appeal to me is the way they blend their influences, when they just make straight experimental noise i can't hack it

Shit nigga that sort of thing is all over the album. It's more obvious there cause there's actually lyrics behind that melody sang in the song but most of the solos are built loosely around a theme of finding God and overcoming adversity and the end of the album has John "playing" the words to a poem he wrote. You can follow the text of it along with the sax and it fits perfectly as if he was singing it.

to me that one kinda sounds like a madvillainy instrumental being raped and warped with MC Dälek saying his sayings over it. I love the atmosphere of that record but there are too many interlude-esque tracks. Still plenty of killer in it.
