Hey guys, first time in Sup Forums and I was wondering if someone can recommend some vaporwave like songs/artists but better and with "more content" no so much "plain" like vaporwave (I don't know how else to explain it).
I know that I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but I actually kinda like vaporwave (specially while high) so if you know some good songs, I'm listening..
Looking for Vaporwave but better

Vektor - Terminal Redux

Highly rec NONE OF THIS IS REAL by DJ ROZWELL or the one death'sdynamicshroud.wmv album that came out last year.
NONE OF THIS IS REAL is not vaporwave.
Rozwell made one fatwave album and one oceangrunge album (the only good one in existence).
I find most vaporwave boring but I really like future funk
Future funk is much more boring than vaporwave.
Op here. For context, the first vaporwave album that I listened was 2814's (pic related) and I loved they style, so I guess that I'm looking for something like that NOT THE REPETITIVE AND ANNOYING MEMENTOSH PLUS 420, which btw, degraded so much the genre
rap/hip hop
What "kind" (subgenre?) of vaporwave is death's dynamic shroud.wmv? Specifically, the first song (너 땜에 맘이 맘이 맘이 맘이 괴로워요) on I'll Try Living Like This?
...
>2016
>still listening to vaporwave
blank banshee yo
mac+ codified the genre, not degraded it
eccojams are what started it all
not that you'd know of course, you started with 2814
...
and here's the link
A huge MEGA folder of vaporwave releases, includes vektroid, macintosh plus, blank banshee, james ferraro, saint pepsi, and many others.
You're a fucking saint
Thanks brah
wow thanks for the img
i came to Sup Forums looking for this
glad i could help
>macintosh plus basically invented vaporwave
>this pleb thinks it ruined it
If you liked 2814, you need to check out everything by t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者
He's one half of that collaboration and everything he touches has that same "hypnagogic" feel. The album he did with Nmesh is top tier, and his project Virtual Dream Plaza is entirely free on Mega.
Actually here's the link to that collection:
mega.nz
And here's his album アンタラ通信

I'll add, if you have any issues with downloading music, note that he put that Mega link on his bandcamp himself
Were you in that gay thread in /gif/?
What gay thread?
>Cucktor
Cyberdream label is definitely worth checking out too.

Obviate - Darksleep
Sorry, I'm new to the genre! I thought it was a "meme artist", what I really meant to say is that I don't like that kind of vaporwave (very 'upbeat' and with looping parts)
I was actually just looking something like this to educate myself about the genre, but I didn't thought it'll exist because everything is kinda "new". Thank you so much user this is perfect!
And thanks everyone in this thread, now I can finally really enjoy vaporwave!
You're a cheerful fellow, I like you
All is forgiven
I recommend Hologram Plaza by Disconscious, by the way. If you had the good fortune to spend your formative years in the 90s, you'll find it perfectly reminiscent of walking around a 90s shopping mall that's totally abandoned but where the stores are all open and the lights are still on
Very atmospheric, and genuinely one of my all-time favorite albums for that reason
anybody remembers tech-noir?
Macintosh plus "floral shoppe"
>those file sizes
What the fuck?
I like S U R F I N G - Deep Fantasy
Yeah, Perturbator made it happen on his latest album.
For only one track but it's one of the most remarkable.
Is this the best Vaporwave album ever made?
Took me a while to obtain the album but finally I just finished listening to it now, it's the best one I've heard yet.
is this the new cringe thread?
Fuck off Foliage
Thanks famalam
you first buddy
i like vaporwave. get troled :^)[stopspoilers]
Spoiler tags dont work on mu newfriend
WHOOOOSHH
neither do you oldmate
kraftwerk - computer world
>MEMENTOSH PLUS 420, which btw, degraded so much the genre
you better be baiting
See
I unironically like good vaporwave. Not this repetetive shit, where 3 seconds beat keeps playing 50 times in a row + lo fi + slowed down, but the stuff that gives nostalgia googles.
My favourites are:
Dave Roland - About Tonight
dave-roland.bandcamp.com
Ricky eat acid - Strawberries
youtube.com
Saint Pepsi - Enjoy yourself
youtube.com
HOME - resonance
youtube.com
C:\DOSBOMB - low.esteem

>vaporwave but better
no such thing lad
Ive just discovered this almost by accident: youtu.be
Have you tried future funk?
>For context, the first vaporwave album that I listened was 2814's
That's not even vaporwave, it's just ambient music with meme aesthetics. So if you like ambient, just go look for some actually good ambient music, the genre exists since more than 20 years and there's lot of stuff you can explore by yourself just by using something like google
deaths dynamic shroud.wmv
James Ferraro - iAsia
Ventla - Fansubbed Last Words
Ventla - Anti-Vivant
Boards of Canada - Old Tunes Vol. 1 & 2
Milieu - New Drugs for Nuclear Families of the Seventies
I guess it isn't vaporwave, but it has that feel to it.
Here's some vaporwave-like songs that I like

damn, this is has some nice lite modern trap beats. It's fucking smooth as hell.
none of that is vaporwave
Hong Kong Express, half of 2814, does really good Hong Kong inspired vaporwave.
youtube.com
hurr its vaportrap
>Hong Kong inspired
Yeah no, actually he uses voice samples speaking japanese, like all the meme musicians do.
Ever listened to Blank Banshee?
He has a whole album about futuristic hong kong. I'd say that's more than inspired
Where's 2814 doe?
>inb4 "it's ambient"
OP, check out Man Bites Dog's latest album. It's more instrumental hip-hop than vapourwave, but utilizes field recordings and sampled tracks in a very unique way. Very dark.
that horrible chart was made before 2814 came out. I really don't suggest using it as it's filled with a bunch of garbage and broporwave
Except that the language in the samples is japanese. I'm quite certain he didn't even know and can't tell the difference. Most likely he doesn't know jackshit about Hong Kong, except what he saw after a Google image search.
The chart is outdated, but really there isn't much recent addition to Vaporwave as a whole, except each genre branching farther apart from each other.
Actually he doesn't. Not sure if it is cantonese, but it sure ain't japanese.
Idk if someone has told this young man about Oneohtrix Point Never yet, but just go listen to Replica.
there are maybe a dozen vaprowave/sea punk/ future funk/associated shit albums worth listening to, what autistlord made a chart this big?
I remember he was an idiot, basically just put every single album he could find into an "essentials" chart. I thought it was stupid at the time but he sperged out on me and didn't take any criticisms.
Look up LAY BAC. hes the one who incidentally started all this shit. At least he put vocals over his stuff.

Autism is the best vaporwave

So I listened to this whole thing yesterday, and was kind of underwhelmed.
6/10, although there are some stand out tracks here and there. God-tier cover though
That would explain why I downloaded the entire "classic" folder and virtually all of it has been hot garbage with precious few exceptions.
Vol.2 when
just go listen to ambient music because 2814 is not vaporwave
