I really really like ones with horizonal mobo placement but want a full ITX. First was thinking testbench but I want long term I want to speg out on a TE water chilling setup with lots of radiators and give it a polished aesthetic. searching high and low but this is the only one ive found so far that makes me feel comfy. should be able to remove the decal.

Attached: maxresdefault (1).jpg (1280x720, 130K)

I have it, it's not that big. You can only fit a single radiator on the front intake and a single fan radiator at the back.

>spacious
That's the IBM 350 - literally the size of full grown man

Attached: RAMAC-EngProtoType-.jpg (1039x700, 75K)

i saw a vid where someone managed to attach a radiator to the top vent. I was thinking that and then if the TEC's are not getting enough cooling I could consider adding either an evaporative element as part of the loop on the side or somehow attach another radiator with a inch or so gap from the side panel. or just say to hell with it and get a dedicated water chiller but the idea feels like cheating. really wish I could find more cases like this in general if not bigger.

does this even qualify as a case?

no it's a testbench
you could use it as a daily computer but I suspect temps or noise would be high

>buying a case from anyone other than Silverstone
You hate air flow, huh?

based

Open air cases or benches will do a hell of alot better for temps than most any other closed case as there is almost an infinite supply of fresh air for everything and heat will naturally evacuate from components because heat rises

>minimalist
really?

looks like an industrial fridge

do you even know what "case" that is?

It looks like an office coffee machine

I used to own this case on a computer I infected with Limewire

Hipster meme

Air flow>>>>meme looks

name of case?

I need a bit taller case for my HTPC. I've got a silverstone gd07b, and the cable management is a fucking disaster. Looks like a goddamned rats nest.

Stupid fucking long-ass GPU

The best case ever made you cannot refute this.

god tier Silverstone FT02

it has a side window. it fucking sucks

wat case? looks good

Best budget case ever.

Fractal Design Define C. At least that's the one I meant. All the Define series look very similar.

Seems it lacks good airflow. A mesh front or front side vent is a minimum.

Too bad their cases still have godawful quality issues, plus they are generic as fuck as far as parts go.

>godawful quality
Source? Seems pretty hq to me. Even the psu shroud is metal, and it doesn't bend easily without the doors. Way more solid than the usual corsair plastic crap.

I want to fuck your toes

>only two USB ports
>only one top exhaust fan
>unpainted interior
>terrible radiator support
>no support for 140mm fans on the front
>no bottom intake
>too many 5.25" bays
>very airflow restrictive drive cage
>non-existent cable management features
>same MSRP as pic related and
It was a good budget case back in the day, but cases have advanced immensely since then. It sure as hell isn't the best case ever, and it never was.

Voodoo Omen case. All watercooled with integrated rads, easy hotswap bays, weighed like 45 kilos and cost 6.5k+ US built in 2008.

>small
>can accomodate AIOs with additional modules
>stellar build quality

What's left to see is how well they manage to fulfill their shipment schedule but I'm excited for this case nevertheless.

whats the name of this awesomeness?

I love supercomputers from before they became just a bunch of boring 19'' racks full of shitty commodity hardware.

Attached: touchstone_delta.jpg (1000x710, 113K)

>before they became just a bunch of boring 19'' racks full of shitty commodity hardware.
they were doomed to become such, since after a certain point your only option to get faster is to parallelize. And once you've started to do that, "well gee, why don't we just network a ton of machines together?" follows naturally. This also makes the problem of managing failures in a huge machine much easier.

>side window
Do you have a window so everyone can see the gay pride lights flashing?

I need a case suggestion for my retarded project. I'm doing an inverted mini itx sleeper PC, its a 2.2ghz northwood Pentium 4, 2gb of ram, a geforce 6200 and really not much else right now.
I want to put it in a nice modern case with a window, and then fill the inside with ide cables and translucent green fans.

Any suggestions? My first thought is the Phanteks enthoo evolv itx in white

Still, its not dustproof

Attached: Orac3.jpg (800x600, 99K)

It would be cool but there are no mini itx acrylic cases I've found that support my fairly tall cooler.

just look up Dancase ripoff kickstarter

Nigga the end all be all case came out over a decade ago. Chieftec dragons forever.

I thought it was a 3d printer at first. I'd actually be interested in your thread if it was.

Yeah, there's no saying it was without reason or a worse decision overall. Big, monolithic systems can be fucking nightmares.

But I can't help but wonder what kind of cool looking shit we could build today if there was more interest in doing so. It's wholly unneeded, but it does make things more exciting.

Attached: paragonxps.jpg (2048x1288, 345K)

nice classic case but I think PC-7 from LIanli is better. my friend built a nice pc with that same case as yours thou but I think it was branded antec lansing or some thing. cant remember

we actually built two computers with that case very classy. cases these days suck unless its literally a pure cube which I haven't seen many like that.

got a new computer last year put it in my PC-7 looks good got some highpowered RGB strips and a window. stripped off ugly gimicy shit from GPU and CPUFan and now it looks like a PC from golden years of gaming.

Apart of me wants to do watercooling but another part of me wants to do micro PC. not sure which is best atm. might wait until GPU manufactuers make highend cards that are smaller size which might happen in next 5 years.

the dumbest thing about cases atm is normal sized ones look too big for standard mobo and large size GPU and CPU fan the front part is empty and its like expecting you to put in heaps of HDD but who uses HDD drives these days unless your collecting porn or some thing weird which makes no sense in the streaming age.

cases are to large and then the smaller ones are all odd shapes because GPU are the largest part mostly and force them to be not a nice shape.

once they make smaller GPU I think you could build some really nice PC cases with maybe a smaller GPU and a AIO cpu cooler to save space and make it more cube like.

but for now ill stick to my normal sized case that's too big for my normal 2017 ear parts I could literally fit a GPU that's 50% longer because I removed all HDD bays. only thing that seems size appropriate in my case is PSU and CPU fan that take up entire space of case but about 1/3rd of the front is completely empty. guess I might just slowly collect SSDs over the coming years and fill up that space with that.. but still realistically ill never get that many SSDs. and I don't want to put HDD in case because its heavy.

:(

>some thing weird which makes no sense in the streaming age.

The regular Define Mini is infinitely better than that C garbage

>let's only make space for 2 HDDs. and make sure not to let even the slightest air flow over them!

Louqe Ghost, as in the filename

The Dancase looks a lot worse though, not a fan of that brushed panel that bends all the way over the case

>HDDs
isn't that one of the cases where you mount you SSDs in the back panel?

Peak cases existed 20 years ago. It just took the rest of the world a couple of decade to catch up with IBM.

Attached: IBM-x3400.gif (500x500, 317K)

Yes, and it's also NOT A PC CASE. It's a hard disk.

Attached: 11.jpg (800x800, 184K)

How? I have exactly this case but the PSU sits on the bottom. Airflow is terrible in this case. My 960 easily reaches 80+°. I hope affordable GPUs come soon so I can run one undervolted instead of heavily overclocked (The 10 W extra don't make a difference anyway).

How much capacity?
>His face when he sees this
>Probably even more storage than 10 of these and 1000x faster

>only two USB ports
most cases only have 2 USB ports
>only one top exhaust fan
also one in back too
>unpainted interior
windowless. nobody will see inside
>terrible radiator support
legitimate shortcoming, but watercooling is a meme
>no support for 140mm fans on the front
dual 120mm is adequate
>no bottom intake
nobody uses those. dust magnets
>too many 5.25" bays
says you. 5.25" bays are useful for lots of things
>very airflow restrictive drive cage
bullshit. the intake fans blow directly across the hard drives. this is ideal.
>non-existent cable management features
what are you talking about? you can totally do clean wiring with the cut outs and space on the right side of case
>same MSRP as pic related and
It was a good budget case back in the day, but cases have advanced immensely since then. It sure as hell isn't the best case ever, and it never was.
>advanced immensely
not really. most of the advancements are regressions. less functionality in the name of assthetics

The PSU doesn't go on the bottom, you dingus. Do you not see the gigantic PSU-Shaped-Vent on the back?

>All these problems
>NO T-THEY'RE FINE!

>t. retard
There's a cut in the psu shroud which can be removed to place a fan in the lower part of the case. I did so and my HDD hovers around 28-30c with 24c ambient.

>>side window
Ruined it.

>Unblocked top fans resulting in a chaotic air flow path
>Literally worse when there is no top radiator
>Requires meme cooling to be good
>No side fan for cooling vrm components on the motherboard back
>Supports only 2 3.5 hdds out of the box*
>*Additional drive sleds purchased separately
>Only 7 expansion slots
I prefer cases designed to house hardware and allow for proper cooling over ones meant to appeal to normies and astheticfags

it's acrylic nigga, cut a hole in it.

muh aztec 99 bro

WHY THE FUCK ARE SERVER CHASSISES SO GODDAMNED EXPENSIVE?
I want a decent chassis for my HTPC. No lights, windows, RGB faggot shit, none of that. Just a black box that looks decent next to a sound system.
>durr hurr silverstone
I already have one, its barely tall enough to fit my fucking graphics card's power connectors

> most any
Fucking retarded.

>WHY THE FUCK ARE SERVER CHASSISES SO GODDAMNED EXPENSIVE?
Because the're server cases built with somewhat higher standards than your typical consumer cases on top of the fact that OEMs are going to charge more anyway because businesses will pay for it.

But they're not. They're a crappy piece of stamped out aluminum with a few tig welds here and there. They have virtually nothing in the way of cable management, filtration, or reinforcement.

Anything without a side window.

>a must for any hardware ricer
>allow anyone visiting your home to see your setup, thus increasing burglary probability

>They have virtually nothing in the way of:
>cable management
It's going in a rack, nobody gives a shit what the internals look like as long as it's easy to service and doesn't obstruct airflow.
>filtration
What's the point of filtration in a datacenter/server room where the air is already filtered?
>or reinforcement.
It's going in a rack. Most of the structural integrity comes from it. Besides, you throw them into the rack and don't take them out until they become obsolete, at which point they might as well crumble apart because they're worthless. Even if something breaks you just slide the case out on its rails.

Yeah I know. I just wanted a 4u case I could shove in my entertainment case. All the other case makers make dumb gamerz shit, was hoping i might find a nice compromise in server

No, you're supposed to put a picture of a naked girl behind the window.

You all tried very hard, but the thread is over now.
