Sitting down for four hours and listening to this is going to be a challenge.

Listen to it in 5 sittings, each disc works well as an album.

Who are your favorite contemporary classical composers?
>listening to classical past 1950
Good joke
>ignoring 60 years of classical music
for what purpose?
But then you'd miss out on the Conan the Barbarian OST
Bowie's best since Scary Monsters.

You should probably just kill yourself at this point.
not my opinion but muuhhh diversity is definitely gonna make it AOTY
you're actually really boring
or
Bowie is extremely solid, but i find myself listening to AMSP more often
No, why would I want to kill myself? I wouldn't be able to listen to 'A Moon Shaped Pool' if I was dead, you stupid.
tbqh
Man it sucks Topsters died. Gorgeous Children is still my AOTY but I'm definitely hyped for the Screaming Fist album.
Agreed
a bit short but I love it
...
Every song on this thing is good, no bullshit. I thought Radiohead couldn't do it again after KOL but they did.
And to clarify I'm not saying KoL was good. I put it down there with PH in the ranks.
hey this is pretty good
>And to clarify I'm not saying KoL was good
thank God
I almost took you seriously
Vektor - Terminal Redux
Deak did it
No, it isn't. It may seem like it is when you're listening to it a lot at first, but it's just another really good album from the lads. It is, however, the logical AOTY because it's far ahead of what anyone else is doing.
Does this sound as good as it looks?
dl?
Sounds like your standard modern classical. I really don't see how this is better than the new Autechre, which is unlike anything I've heard. I guess classical music is just behind the times these days, preoccupied with making dissonant string instruments while a couple of Rochdale hip hop lads are doing the real innovation.
Either the new LSD and the Search for God, the new pinkshinyultrablast, or the new Nothing for me.
but they just sound like experimental electronic music made 50 years ago
I'd love to hear some of that. Feel free to give me some recommendations.
dont listen to le meem albums XDDD
(MINE)
niggas
dl?
uh, get slsk?
Just came out today and has been the first album this year that really turned me on.
>liking TKoL
You are either the most boring "human" ever. Or a faggot
That album only has one or two good songs
Envelope Philter - There's Another World Under Your Feet
Not as good as their last 2 albums but still love this one.
I really dislike pop-punk but im digging the singles of this album. Is their debut this good?
Man I still gotta give this a listen. From what I've heard it's extremely good though.
I wanted to like Secret Boy so much but his voice is just so grating at points that it turns me off.
A moon shaped pool.
Probably pic related
and are all respectable choices as well
...
I only listened to the first few songs and liked them. Not as instant as Hungry Ghost but a grower
King of Limbs > OK Computer
I'm also not baiting.
No cringe at all!
...
>2016
sounds like a xenakis/penderecki rip off
the new young thug album is more innovative than this
this or car seat headrest
Their previous album, while it does have more themes of indie rock and pop punk, is a very consistent and enjoyable album. TDIS is much harder and more intense, pretty much dropping a lot of the indie themes their debut had. Both are great albums.
If I had to compare them to a band, I'd say they're pretty much a Canadian FIDLAR, both literally and using it as an expression.
All that being considered, PUP is only 34 minutes long and TDIS is only 30, so you could easily listen to both in one sitting, it's not like other artists with massive back catalogs with no releases under an hour.
Can't stop listening to this
Nonagon or Spirit Phone.
Honestly as a big fan of King Gizzard and Nonagon I agree it's one of the best albums of the year but I don't think it's one of the best albums out so far.
fuck I messed that up
It's one of the best albums to come out this year, but it's definitely not one of the /very/ best
Im halfway through TDIS after listening to their s/t, and im really digging the post-hardcore feel and the guitar riffs. I guess the thing i hate about most pop-punk is that the vocals are really grating and whiny, and the music is really impersonal.
Pup sounds really endearing though, like theyre not just cashing in and selling out to a pop-punk crowd.
I give em a solid 7.8 out of 10, bretty good.
>elseq
>innovative in any way shape or form
lmao
Ionnatta incorporates electronic effects and a distinct sense of tonality.
Anna Meredith- Varmints
Animal Collective- Painting With
Thrice- to be everywhere is to be nowhere
Deakin- Sleep Cycle
Parquet Courts- Human Performance
Car Seat Headrest- Teens of Denial
Kevin Morby- Singing Saw
Pinegrove- Cardinal
Day of the Dead-
PC PC - Ramsgate
Mutual Benefit- to skip a sinking stone
Compared to other Thrice records, how good is this one?
If you have a chance to see them live (they tour like fucking hell, something like 250 performances last year everywhere from Halifax to Tasmania) they are crazy good performers.
To even further the FIDLAR/PUP comparison, they also do a killer cover of Sabotage.
