yo, what's the deal with sony? sony xperia z1 compact, xperia z ultra, both have INSANELY inaccurate screen colors, look like absolute shit. it looks like the gamma curve or saturation or something is fucked. even low-end samsung, huawei, xiaomi phones, (in basic/standard/srgb mode) have perfectly reasonable and eye-pleasing colors. the sonys are an absolute horror to look at. and no, you can't fix it at all by adjusting the white balance. why doesn't anyone seem to acknowledge this in reviews and discussions?
Ryan Hall
What's this flickering light on the top left of my LG G5 (pic related)?. That's not the notification LED, and on the other devices I have had, the proximity and light sensors don't emit light. Note that the light is only visible on camera
would i be able to install lineageos on my retus moto g4 play? the version for it says it's for harpia but i'm not sure why the software channel would matter so yeah
Aaron Harris
>harpia That's the codename for G4 Play, all sub models should work.
Chase Thompson
I got a mint S8+ for $450 on Swappa to replace my OnePlus 2, how badly did I fuck up?
Jaxon Murphy
that's great if there is nothing sketchy about it. no repairs done to it, clean IMEI, maybe it just got dunked in a toilet full of shit but it's water resistant
Jose Edwards
Are there any low/mid range phones that aren't chinese memes anymore?
Jaxson Butler
Femanon here. Sony's software support is notoriously terrible. You will never get a major version upgrade. Wait for the SE2, it should be coming out in July
well there you go. get a moto g5+. the 4/64 model is like $200 right now
Jaxon Harris
How much longer till the Note 8 crashes in price on eBay?
Blake Perry
What is the best phone with front facing speakers on the top and bottom?
Hunter Reed
>paying for a meme camera wew
Parker Reed
you're thinking of the g5s+
Dominic Sanchez
when the note 9 is announced
Michael Parker
>Sony's software support is notoriously terrible. You will never get a major version That's completely bullshit
>Sony Xperia Z2, Z3, Z3 Compact Launched with 4.4 KitKat, updated to 6.0 Marshmallow
>Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, Z5 Premium Launched with 5.1 Lollipop, updated to 7.0 Nougat
>Sony Xperia X, X Compact, X Performance, XZ Launched with 6.0 Marshmallow, updated to 8.0 Oreo
Even the low end models get at least a single major version update. Sony is also one of the few android manufacturers doing monthly security updates.
Leo Morgan
I'm a yuropoor so the only version available is the 3/32, still good?
John Green
just got a Moto Z new for 200, great screen and performance. camera's alright with google camera.
which rom to install?
Chase Turner
the Z5's got updated to 7.1.1
Lincoln Nguyen
sure. maybe get a microsd eventually if the 32gigs of space aren't enough but 3gigs of ram is more than enough on stock android
Tyler Campbell
I got it from Swappa, it looks very clean from the dozen or so pictures. I couldn't see any scratches, cracks, or other visible signs of damage.
Maybe it was dunked in shit water, sure. I'll check the moisture indicators and everything else come next week.
Blake Sanchez
a friend of mine got it, it's not fast or snappy but battery lasts a week
Gabriel Davis
My Nexus 5X is dead today, what should I buy as a replacement ? USB C / Jack / Easy root Currently looking at the Xiaomi Mi A1, or OnePlus 5 for twice the price ...
Josiah Fisher
Xiaomi Mi Mix also has USB C, a headphone jack, and somewhat easy root. Just gotta wait three days.
Logan Moore
Doesn't get Oreo support
Michael Robinson
T-mobile or at&t
Charles Wilson
Cricket maybe, subsidiary of ATT but cheaper.
You could get TWO Xiaommemes
Jace Reyes
Got $800 Need a new phone, one with a good camera, decent battery, and shitloads of space. What do? Thinking Pixel 2
Aiden Sanchez
phone with very efficient battery and somewhat physically durable? in other words any model that will last me till the grave?
Andrew Lopez
Does the leather part last
Gavin Morgan
Pixel 2 or S9+
S8 active maybe
>Samsung released a 6GB ram/128 GB storage version of the S8+ Why?
Robert Lewis
What is the cheapest smartphone I can get with: -At least 3gb of ram. -Works on 1700/2100.
The current contender is an LG G3 off ebay.
Hudson Peterson
Lineage takes care of that.
Gabriel Sanders
unless you are planning on dying soon, that's not happening
Get a Redmi Note 4 or 5 when that releases for the global market. Both devices support B4....
Jose Davis
Any benefits of a pixel 2 over a pixel 1? Seems like a large price disparity
Josiah Gutierrez
Who /7plus/ here?
Logan Martinez
I can get an iPhone SE, 64GB model, with original box and charger for $180 Canadabux (about $140 real money). Seems to be in very good shape aside from a dent on one side where it was dropped, comes with a case and screen protector. Worth it? Seems like a good price relative to budget phones, especially since it will likely receive major OS updates for at least 2 more years and because the SE 2 is likely to be fucking huge and won't have TouchID.
Henry Reyes
>Femanon here Fuck off
>Wait for the SE2, it should be coming out in July Pure rumors and speculation, for all we know Apple might not be releasing anything at all since they are having so much trouble producing what they are already trying to sell.
Josiah Phillips
What's the cheapest Android with 60fps video recording? Looking for a cheap phone and disappointed with how choppy the video is compared to my iphone 6.
Nathaniel Adams
I love the SE so much I just know they’re going to ruin any successor by making it NOTCHED
Thomas Lopez
They might make it like a mini iPhone 8. It will still be missing the headphone jack but that would be more acceptable to me than the half-assed attempt to copy BlackBerry OS 10 (yes, I had a Z10, and yes, the iPhone X basically does the same shit that people mocked the Z10 for).
I have a feeling I am going to be using my own SE until a year after Apple discontinues support, and then moving on to Android. Or hopefully something else that comes along because Android is a bucket of shit.
Brandon James
if I dunk an ip68 phone in water, what happens to the exposed parts like the headphone jack, charging port and speaker grills?
Colton Bell
if those parts are exposed and not protected by watertight cover then i dont see how it can be considered ip68
Samuel Jackson
maybe exposed was a bad choice of word, I mean older waterproof phones have flaps that prevent water from getting in those holes, right? how do they handle water that is in the headphone jack/charging port, do they just slide right out?
Brody Harris
Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Have it for 1,5 years now
I LOVE this phone, shatterproof display saved me at least 3 times, 21MP camera takes amazing pics and Videos, Powercharging charges in 65 mins 0-100%
But I notice it getting a bit slower, and battery emptying quicker.
Is there a phone similiar to this? With the same type of display
Carson Collins
>With the same type of display The only phone I can find with this display is the Moto Z Force, and Z2 Force
Carter Campbell
Nokia 6 2017
Bentley Bell
g6 plus over redmi note 5 pro?
Zachary Jones
time to switch to ios
Logan Barnes
pixel 2xl, razer phone, xperia xz2
Adam Johnson
Mate 10 Pro, S9+ or Note 8?
Jordan Walker
>HUGE screen >HUGE bezels Any phone that doesn't do this? I'm low on budget (
Budget: >200 Euros (willing to pay more if worth it) Needs: >Long battery life >Good signal reception >Should last me at least 2-3 years >Supported by LineageOS or something similar to be able to update it for app use after factory support ends Apps I use: >Maps >Email >Slack >A bit of internet browsing >Music Things that I don't care about: >camera >gaymes >fingerprint scanner >screen resolution and bezels
tl;dr: I want a phone for business use that just werks and won't die on me after two years or so.
Adrian Bennett
6 inches is not huge.
Elijah Martinez
Yes it is.
Justin Miller
Hmmmm. Well, the Mi Max 2 had its source code released on GitHub so hopefully it will get Lineage support.
I use mine for work purposes and the apps I use: >Hipchat >Email >Asana >browsing the internet >music via Spotify
It gets great reception where I live but you might want to check whether it will work with your carrier and your coverage. The battery life on it is quite good with a 5300 mAH battery.
Liam Barnes
proofs? it might come a bit late but i'd surprised if it doesn't get it
best rom for Moto Z? got one new for 200 and it's perfect for me
Owen Torres
i will look into it, thanks user!
Ayden James
how is it? checked phone arena and its too fucking big
Nathaniel Sanchez
>Really like my Nexus 6, have it for three years >Power button died three weeks ago >Volume buttons died a week after that >Forgot to charge it last night >Phone is kill
What are my options here guys? >Borrow my aunt's Note 2 untill the One+ 6 arrives >Buy a Oneplus 5T >Have power button fixed for 80 EUR >Buy a 3310 burner phone - if only it had Whatsapp >Somehow manage to boot my Nexus using voodoo magic When is the +6 coming out anyways?
Cameron Cruz
>t. claims to not have a tiny dick but can't handle a 6 inch phone
Adrian Parker
it's very fast with a great screen, getting around 6 hours of SOT and camera's also great when using google camera port.
it's not too big actually and feels smaller because it's so thin
Caleb Cook
5T, the op6 will be expensive and will have a notch
Dylan Cox
Define ''expensive'', because I don't mind a notch. Budget is ~600 EUR, and an 8GB 5T is 560 EUR in my country.
Angel Edwards
I've seen rumors saying as high as $750
Cameron Walker
That's pretty good. The 2 is probably the worst oneplus phone so it's a good upgrade.
Anthony Bell
the 2 is actually really good, still have one that im not using but it never got hot and was a great performer. using a Moto Z now
Mason Clark
>t. thinks he's hot shit for having a big ass phone
Isaac Ross
Redmi Note 4 global
Joshua Wright
Get a 5T from Gearbest/Geekbuying. I bought mine for 380€.
Benjamin Sullivan
>look at a phone >big battery >small size and big screen at the same time >64gb of internal space >good price >A FUCKING NOTCH i swear to god i will find the person who forced this on everyone and i will hang him by the balls on a hook
